Your favorite Head string

I own a small home run stringing business and willing to invest in 3 or 4 Head reels. They are expencive, so I want to choose the right ones.
Which are the most sold and the ones that have the better acceptance? It can be a mix of monofilament and multifilament.

Lynx is a nice soft, muted, high powered poly.
Velocity is a slippery multi that is very low powered (-3 pounds from mid manufacturer's recommendation).

Are you sponsored by Head, and limited to their strings? If so, then I'd guess that Sonic Pro and Sonic Pro Edge are the best known strings. I like their FXP line also. You are right about them being expensive, and unless they are for you and your family, you may want to consider some less expensive options.

Lynx, Velocity and Hawk Touch, I’d say

The two I would go after first would be the soon-to-be-released head experimental string and velocity. Then probably lynx or hawk touch, and maybe fxp.

I have used a lot of Head strings - Regular FXP and Rip Control are my favorites that offer great control while still providing good comfort. Synthetic Gut PPS is also a cheaper alternative. Haven't used any Head Polys though.

1. Head PPS is one of the best Synthetic guts on the market. Great quality and great price.

2. Sonic pro edge is one of the best soft polys out there. perfect mix of comfort and responsiveness in string.

3. rip control is a very unique multifilament. A bit stiffer than others on the market but it is very durable while also being comfortable. Not as powerful as others out there.

I think the rest of Head’s line is not as unique and slightly over priced for what they are.

Lynx, easy answer because it's my overall favourite string. The combination of control and softness on the arm is perfect for me. I also use it for others who don't bring their own string, no complaints so far.

Lynx. Good in a full bed or as a cross string for multi mains. For me it is just as comfortable as Isospeed Cream - a much praised ‘comfortable’ poly. I use the green version.

Velocity also good but I prefer Laserfibre Supreme 2 as a multi.

Many fans for Linx, how about the 'Edge' version, worth it?
Sonic Pro Edge + Linx looks very good as well

A reel of Hawk is a lot of money! Must be wonderful string. My only point is that it's probably more specific for top players, which is not exatly the target of clients I have. But might be wrong!

Head makes great slalom skis and great high end ski boots. This is where Head shines, in my opinion, and this is the main area of their competence. Go to Mt Hood on summer, look at the gear which racers use. 70% is Head. I always thought, when it comes to strings, they are just one of many suppliers. Some people love their strings, others do not care. Why do you want to focus only on Head, especially if you string for others? Do your customers ask only for Head?

Actually no, very rarely customers ask for Head (actually in a few ocasions customers asked for Lynx). And the aim is not focus on Head, but have variety on choice.
In general, a good percentuage of customers don't ask for a particular string. They trust the stringer, and after a chat I try to see which string is the one that can suit the player's game.
Variety of choice is one important element to have something more to face the competition of other stringers.

My question is: Why is Hawk Touch the only string in their line only available in a crazy 3/5th of a reel size as compared to the standard 660ft?

FYI, TeeDub doesn't stock the Rip Control in a reel. The reel is listed on the manufacturer website, but they don't sell from there, & I've websearched and cannot find anywhere to buy it retail/online. Hmm.

LYNX 17g yellow is 1st choice This is a comfortable, elastic, decent durability all rounder string that doesn't disappoint customers. Customers that are cautious about getting full poly beds are very surprised with this string. Has almost a multi feel but with added spin and control. String tension -10% mid rec which usually is around 49lbs to 50lbs on a 100sqin racquet and your on a solid winner.

Hawk Touch is similar but a bit crisper, not as soft but seems to have a nicer feel on the ball, seemingly a better premium string and the top pick but at a premium price over Lynx. Top level tournament players that are heavy hitters and chew through strings and want a very crisp precise response and crave pinpoint control Hawk is an great string.

For all round goodness and price Lynx wins.
