Fan biases aside, what does the inner tennis analyst inside you expect of the result Novak Djokovic is most likely to have when the 2020 AO, the 1st slam of the decade concludes?
(Last year's AO :- Djokovic won the title, beating Nadal 6-3 6-2 6-3 in the final)

Novak will win the title 90% sure, unless he has a ridiculously difficult draw like he had this US Open.

If Djokovic has to face Wawrinka, Medvedev, Federer and Nadal in a row... well. He would need to demolish in 3 or 4 sets all his rivals to avoid getting tired.

Would like if Medvedev doesn't land in his quarter. That 4th round they had this year was draining.

Optimistic overall. It's his arena. Expecting good tennis from him again when he recharges his batteries.

Why do you talk like carbaelles, kudla, londero were tough draw for novak?
Stan wasn't at his best either.
Novak's own level was low, and that's why he lost.

Djokovic would've likely won even with that draw if he didnt get injured

he’s the overwhelming favorite to win the title, so..
I think "overwhelming" is hyperbole, but he's obviously the favorite.

I thought in 2018 when he lost to Zverev at the YEC that he might be "iffy" to win AO 2019, but he went out there and demolished the field. Let's see what his form is like at the ATP Cup. I think the evidence shows Novak is wisely now playing almost exclusively for slams. Another 10 Masters 1000's doesn't equal one more slam, so he's smart to prioritize majors to the exclusion of all else.

Bias aside? Anything less than a title would be a disappointment.

Though I do have a feeling it won’t be Novak’s year at AO.

He's by far the favourite to win. However, if he meets a new gen in the quarters or semis he could be in trouble.

This thread is enough to make the VB wind turn from Rafa is the guy who beat the guy who won WTF, to Rafa has Schwartzman and Berrettini in his draw (the toughest ever), so AO is Novak's to lose.

Can't wait! (y)

Have a feeling Novak will be hungry for a W here. Esp after the disappointing end to the season. If his elbow is fully healed, he might go all the way.
