Out of all the players who didn't stay at Utd that long, Di Maria was my favourite player. Pace, touch, vision, great long pass, good shot, skills. Van Gaal ruined him. I would have loved to have seen Di Maria go to Barcelona; Real Madrid however stated that Utd were not allowed to sell Di Maria in the contract. Apparently Messi called for Barcelona to sign Di Maria but because of the clause, it didn't go ahead.
I can't believe they let him go after just one season. Right now it would have all looked much better for Man United if Di Maria was still playing for them. Now they are stuck with Depay and Mourinho will have to search for one big player more.

It wasn't just Di Maria we let go; Hernandez, Nani, Kagawa, Evra, Vidic, RVP, Falcao (needed more time), Januzaj doesn't even make the bench anymore. I think Depay has promise, but isn't on Di Maria's level.

The only thing that saved our season was Rashford, Lingard and Martial. Oh, shout out to De Gea!!! but he's been saving us for about four years now. What a keeper. Deserves to leave. Utd don't deserve De Gea.

To be fair, Evra, Vidic and Van Persie were getting old. Don't remember much, but I believe Nani was quite inconsistent in his last two seasons or so. Letting Hernandez go was a big mistake.

Depay has promise no doubt, but he flopped and as you said he isn't on Di Maria's level.

Well there is something Van Gaal did very well - promoting youngsters. Can't believe they managed to keep De Gea, he should have left last summer, but there were some paperwork issues. Now that Mourinho has joined, I doubt players would want to leave.

That's a PC game thought isn't it? I really can't be arsed with that, I only have a laptop at the moment and I use it mainly for my work. Plus there's nothing like sitting on your coach with the game pad and the big screen. Hopefully theyll release a new one for the ps4 it's been too long, won't hold me breath tho.
Tennis Elbow runs on a toaster. Well, probably not a literal toaster like Football Manager, but it requires very little computing power.

Football Manager. The hours I put in to different versions of that game, pretty sure the first all nighter of my life was because of Championship Manager 1995. Crazy. That Milan team. First game I can remember having LVG tactics with people out of position, then you're just hooked forever.

Well, Evra went to Juventus and was able to make the champions league final and helped Juve win the Serie A. I think Utd had good options for the LWB position. I would still take an old Vidic of frikkin Blind. Smalling is overrated. Blind is wreckless plain and simple. I like Darmian, really like Darmian. I would still take an old RVP over Rooney any day.

Van Gaal simply did not have a clue at Utd. The Hernandez saga said it all.

Vidic was remarkable. Unfortunately he retired already.

Blind is also slow IMO. He played as a defensive midfielder/left back in Ajax, Van Gaal played him out of position in United.

Rooney won't be returning to striker position anytime soon.

Well I hope Mourinho will make you happier. :)

Being slow isn't a problem if you are strong in other areas; Blind has a good long ball and is fearless; That's about it and for a defender that's simply not enough, especially in the premier league. Smalling is careless and his movement is a joke, Blind is reckless, playing Mata on the wing is insanity at it's purest form, why was Valencia played at rwb???

I like Mourinho, and I think he would suit Utd more than Guardiola; Utd don't really have the players to play that Barca way. Arsenal and Swansea are the teams which would suit Guardiola. I don't even know why he's going to City. I think PSG would have been a much better fit for Guardiola. But the French League sucks. One good team.

I think if Mourinho was offered the Utd job before Chelsea, he would have taken it. Sadly, we brought in Moyes. I actually felt sorry for Moyes, he did a better job than LVG with a much lesser team.

Wouldn't surprise me if Mourinho shows some of the current first team players the exit door.

Moyes was treated way too harsh. His Champions League campaign was quite solid, they even gave "that" Bayern a little scare. Also, he didn't spend any money (except bringing in his boy Fellaini). Since he stayed less than a year, it wouldn't be fair if Van Gaal was given a 3rd year after all of his mistakes.

Come on feel the Moyes. Yes, even though we were a title winning team and on the decline, our team was not that different when David Moyes took over. As mentioned, he only got to sign his boy. He didn't do that bad, but not good enough to follow the success before him. No transition period allowed in the world of today. Getting rid of all the backroom staff was a dumb move, though.

I just couldn't see us going forward with LVG. It would always be one forward and two back. Great that he got us the FA Cup, but again, you want to be challenging for the biggest prizes because that is what you're used to. LVG getting another season would have been crazy.

Brilliant :p

Why would I not be a fan of Man Utd? They have developed the best British players of the past twenty years. They have also developed the second greatest footballer ever in Ronaldo (only Messi is better), and didn't need a takeover to fuel their success. Aside from Di maria, Herrera, Falcao and Shaw, Utd haven't really been a huge spending club.

Can't wait to see him wear the traditional Man United suit.

Just found him saying a few years ago that Chelsea fans don't have to be worried about him joining Man United. He ruled out that possibility completely and wondered how can someone think about such a thing. :D

Tennis Elbow is the GOAT tennis game for me. Haven't bought the full version (some patches can be added) that will allow me to play online, but even with constant demo downloading it has been amazing. Less focus on the actual look of the tennis player, but the gameplay is the closest thing to perfection. With those patches the actual style of their hitting becomes even more realistic.

I wholeheartedly agree. I found out it's even helpful in your rl tennis game, as realistic as it is.

My first football manager was 2013, a friend got me onto it. First time I used my laptop on the toilet.

PES used to be the king, PES 5 and 6 are etched in stone for me. So is Fifa 2004 as it was my first one and I loved it. My first console game, bar portable stuff, gameboy, etc. Oh yeah and a few old PC ones.

But FIfa closed the gap and I haven't bought PES since 2011. The fact PES can't get the kits doesn't help. I remember back in the day, downloading the kits from the internet, putting it on the USB, then onto the PS2/PS3. CBA for all that now. I agree, FIFA 10 was great, I played that so much, I needed to disc to be repaired. Twice. 13 was really good looking back on it. I haven't missed a FIFA since 04.

I hardly play it now, mostly due to procastinaitng when I have free time - so many options nowadays, BS "eye-grabbing" headlines on the Daily Mail unfortunately distracting me, article from the more respectable newspapers (online), reddit which I love, movies/movie news and this bloody place. But I'll turn on the PS4 eventually. After the French Open ;)

Oh and I still play Topspin 4. When ever it gets boring, wait 2 months and it's fun again haha

Also, I'm a Chelsea fan. I was gutted when Mourinho was sacked, but in hindsight, that was sort of stupid. No youth came through, he sold several great players and convinced us we didn't need any transfers. Well that's a joke. He left us in tatters. I still love him for his success in his two spells at Chelsea, but I support Chelsea, no Jose.

Am I happy he's at United? Yes and No. Yes, because, in an affectionate way, after we sacked him I thought, I hope he lands on his feet. In reality, that's not such a good thing, as he'll probably help our rivals finish above us. But I felt a similar with Cech, who I love more of course. I felt we owed him at least that - to sell him to a pretty good club, seeing all he's done for us. Luckily Arsenal balls'd up the league again, so he didn't help them win it :D
I'm feeling bitter now it's pretty much done. But IMO, it's more the glory seeker in Mourinho that wanted United (apparently for years) rather than a weird love for the rivals of a team he claimed to love and coached twice (Chelsea). We'll see what happens. Zlatan in the Premier League would be box office too.

Regarding Chelsea, I'm not sure we'll recover straight away. Could take a couple seasons before we challenge again. Just my take atm

Around the time when you stopped playing PES, I started. :D

Patches can always be found, I remember I downloaded a 2014-15 season patch and put it into PES 2010, it was really great coming back to that game with the current players. The newest PES is excellent as well. If you prefer quick short passing and you get good at it, nobody will stop you. Pity I never played FIFA. From what I have seen it looks really good and online play seems much better with that ultimate team stuff, don't know much about it...

Many have said he was gutted that Sir Alex chose freaking Moyes over him in 2013 as his successor.

Better late than never I guess. If he ends this little title drought we are on, I really won't care about his controversial moments or how long he stays...

I remember the pes6 European champion was beating me 8-0 before half time once. Not sure what the final score was. Luckily enough, he gave me a game of Top Spin 3 and he learned his lesson. They might have improved again over the years, but the early pro evo games were ''SPECIAL''.

Castolo FTW. One of the fastest players in the world, that has nothing else to offer. :D

Typical hopes and dreams of other non United supporters. Dreaming/desperately hoping Man Utd and Mourinho fail. Quite charming.

You're right it was the same for moyes and Lvg. Why would anyone want their rivals to succeed? ;) but this time is different. I'm almost certain it will end in tears. and I'm not talking about tears of joy :p
