Dino, thanks for all the information about these racquets. What was the condition of the Rossignol F200 (Red) (346/12.21/38/358/34.75)? Was the F200 really that flexible when new? Also, have you ever tested the Fischer Pro Classic 98?

Thanks Dino :)

Thanks!

Thanks Dino, and keep up good work :)

Thanks!

Surprisingly, it only affects the swing weight slightly. Thanks.

Yes, the next step is now to add some lead to get the SW up a little.

Dino, thanks for all the information about these racquets.

Thanks, glad you enjoy it.

The red F200 is in a very good used condition. I assume it was that flexible when new.

Also, have you ever tested the Fischer Pro Classic 98?

Nope, not yet... Hope to get one some day. :)

Dino,
Thanks for all the valuable info you provide, its a great resource for those of us that enjoy classic sticks.

PS; I have a nearly pristine blue F200, which I love and sadly a cracked grey one (with the rooster). What would you recommend as the next "must have" Rossi frame? Like you I seem to have developed a fondness for Rossignols.

Hi TCTEN! I'm glad you enjoy the log. It's something I really wish had been available when I started getting old racquets, and something I really enjoy doing now.

As far as Rossignols go, I really want to mention the FGC. That one is probably my favorite Rossi of all time, being even flexier than my F200s... It might be a little hard to come by, though. Another one, that is more common, is the F250. It may not have that total F200 feel to it, but more of a "modern" touch due to the 60 flex. Great compromise of old school looks and feel and modern playability though, if you ask me.

You can't go wrong with a classic Rossignol, so I wouldn't only look for a certain model, but rather focus on getting one in as good a condition as possible. (Although the F-series would be a logical group of racquets to focus on.) Keep us updated!

The F200 must have been made with a very high percentage of fiberglass. I really like racquets with fiberglass, which gives a nice flex and cushioning to racquets. I have never played with the F200, but the Adidas GTX Pro-T Ivan Lendl was a great frame from the same era.

Many Völkls, including the C7 pro (I believe) had some fiberglass in the early-to-mid 1990s. I moved away from fiberglass to the Fischer Pro Classic 98 and the VT Pro 98 , and varying Fischer new generations of the VT Pro 98. I have a large stash of old Fischer racquets in varying condition. I have yet to find a current racquet that I like as much as my Fischers.

Yes, screw kevlar, fiberglass is the way to go.

If I remember correctly, even newer Völkls than that had fiberglass in them. I also must admit that I share your feelings regarding Fischer. Great sticks!

Thanks for all the information, Dino. I think a little fiberglass would benefit some modern frames.

No problem, Mike. I agree, more fibreglass to the people. :)

I was surprise to see that the stiffness of Graphite Edge is so low (44). Somebody said it is between 55 and 60, and i felt it so.

I'm not sure that somebody ever measured it...

On a serious note, I think I now have more than one Graphite Edge, so I can try and get another reading and multiple racquets.

These racquet varied from individuals. I felt the matte version was a little softer and has more raw feel than the glossy one.

Have you added Rossignol F280 Graphite to your F-series collection?

I cant believe that Donnay Pro One MP has such a high stiffness. I got a longbody version (graphite/kevlar), and it feels very soft, like PT630.

Hey Dino, I own a Prince Graphite Pro Series 110 (all black with white strip, no cross bar in throat), and was looking for the flex. Your log says 49, which seems great, but the other specs don't seem to match with my racquet... Mine weights 380g without overgrip, and the balance is 32cm (about 9 pts headlight).

I didn't expect it to be that stiff, but I've measured a couple of racquets and multiple readings, and those are the numbers I got. Not sure if the longbody is flexier than or not.

Hi, DonDiego! After having bought, played with and measured hundreds of racquets, all I can say is that sometimes I still get surprised with the difference in numbers between the same model of racquets... Not sure what's up in this particular case.

My bad! There were two replacement grip on top of each other. That added about 20 grams to the frame. It's still heavy tough, at 363g.

Note that these are the Limited Editions which were the stiffest pro one supermidsizes, the international and Kevlar editions were much softer...

Three things really stood out in this measuring session:

1) The stiffness of the Adidas GTX Mid (71)
2) The stiffness of the Prince Thunderstick 90, where I couldn't even get a result...
3) The crazy specs of the Wilson Ultra Hammer 5.0. I have never before seen such HH balance.

I can clearly remember, when that racquet was new, World Tennis (USA) magazine tested it and found that it was the stiffest racquet they'd ever measured. Then, a couple years later, Wilson introduced the Kuebler Resonanz / Profile and the widebody era with a whole new level of stiffness began...

Yeah, I knew it was on the stiff side, but thought it would be a couple of points south of 70.

Hi Dino. by any chance you got a Yamaha ex110 shiny and colourful frame hanging around your basement for you to measure? thx
I have one! Haven't heard from Dino in several years though... I don't think he had one the time I was there to take a look at his collection. My stringer has an RDC but I don't know if I can borrow it to measure it.

Nice!!

What can you say about this frame? have you ever played with it? just got one from the bay and i'm kind of curious. Judging by the pictures it doesn't look 110sq, only if you look to the throat.

Hi, and thanks for the kind words! I'm still around and have added a few more racquets to the collection, but I haven't been on TT for a while, and I've neglected my RDC-duties. I noticed that the pictures were gone in my posts, due to a new pic housing policy. I'll try to fix that later, and update my log.

I do have a couple of EX110 racquets. I'll be sure to include them in the first batch I measure.
