Phantom series is near perfection regarding comfort and playability. It is a pure pleasure to hit with. A dream for the arm.
To chose the right Phantom, it depends what is your game style.
Baseline spin player: Pro 100 or 100
More flat hitter and serve/volleyer: Pro 100P or 93P

Try Signum Pro X-perience, man!!!!
(is it Pro's Pro Vib Control? :sneaky:)
X-perience is waiting, but in 17G. I will try your 45 lbs. I never stringing polys so low. I tried Grappelsnake Cube 18 with 49 lbs and one raquet with Ytex Square X /49 lbs. ........ was not impressed by both.

Its Pete Sampras Vibra Stop, but I think it is all the same china stuff.

If one likes the TT95 but feels it is a smidge underpowered will the phantoms deliver and which ones? I love the classic feel of a head radical tour. But could do with just a bit more power. I love my Vsense 10 317 but these phantoms has got me intrigued.

Skickat från min iPhone med Tapatalk

To be honest i think you'll still feel they are underpowered. Maybe the heftier 93p might deliver more heavy balls but the other 100 head size ones will still feel a tad under. Maybe add a gram at 12 on the tt95? Or try a more lively string? I feel you as better going that path.

Big sweetspot? Wouldn’t the 100 version be more alike my current Volkl? Is the 93 sq inch hard to play?

Volkl Vsense 10 - 318sw 318 bal 334w
Volkl Super G 10 - 318sw 316 bal 335w

Sonic pro 17, will shortly try hybrids.

Plays like a 95-97 IMO. Big sweet spot for a mid. Really gives you confidence to swing out.

Let's be realistic. It plays like a 95" because the pattern is fairly open for an 18x20 on a round head with thin beam. There's very little wasted space. The outer mains and top and bottom crosses are placed as far out as physically possible.

Yes the round shape makes all the difference in forgiveness on this racket. Only time i run into trouble is if I get my spacing too close to the ball. Most of the missing frame area is near the throat so I can definitely frame balls I'm too close to. That being said, with a larger frame size any ball i hit near the throat is going to be a point loser 9 times out of 10 anyway. So having less string bed there in the 93P is not affecting my results.

But having a mid play like a 95 is quite nice. You get the maneuverability and easy swinging of the mid and the forgiveness of a 95. Pretty good tradeoff IMO.

I've finished a multi-week demo of the PP100P. It's comfort, feel, precision and overall playability won me over.

I'd like to string my new one with my usual string setup of Pacific Tough Gut 16 in the mains and Gosen Micro 16 syn gut in the crosses.

Any suggestions for tension(s) ?

TW shows, "Tension range 45 to 55 pounds, optimum 50 pounds."

So I was thinking of starting off with 50lbs for each and go from there. Thoughts ?

I'd probably go with 52/50 lbs unless you are a power hitter and then a little higher.

At 50lbs in syn gut such as Prince duraflex 17 it felt too tight for me. Low power. Try gauge it to that and see.

I recently had isospeed control classic at 47lbs and the initial hit felt like I could go even lower to about 45lb. Since a few more sessions the tension has dropped and sweetspot has opened up much more. It was dead off center initially. It responds much better now. I haven't measured the current tension but I like it better.

Played the exo tour before in 18x20. Can only compare to phantom 100p. At the right tension, the p100p plays with more stability and power. Not a whole lot more power but noticeable. I had trouble ending points in the exo tour but the phantom does it better. Again, not a massive difference but noticeable. Slices in the exo were very chippy and floaty. I personally couldn't get the slices to skid and penetrate low. They sat up or land short. The p100p doesn't have that issue. The exo3 did swing easier and faster and staying in long rallies was easier. I'd give exo tour the edge on volleys. While it is a ported frame the low power, low flex made is quite easy to hit touch and drop shots. Feel wise they are different due to traditional beam vs ports but performance wise I feel the phantom made up for the weaknesses of the exo tour 18x20. Phantom 100p does take more time and investment to dial in. My exo tour 18x20 was very 'pick up and play'. The phantom i had experimented with string types at various tensions and even fine tune it to my liking with small bits of tungsten tape. On service they are similar. The flat serve is better with p100p but I actually favour kick serve with exo tour.

I am not sure if the pro 100 would play even more similar due to the similar flex. Most have agreed the box beam of 100p makes it play stiffer so pro 100 might be a better transition. Demo all 3 phantom 100 models! Ported phantom by far is the most similar for sure. If you prefer traditional grommets then try pro 100, as flex is still close. If you want a more classic set up then pro 100p. I am sure they are all lovely frames.

I already own the 100P and I could not resist and for a good price I got a used 93P.
And from the researches I have done, they are as if they were sisters, similar, however, with their peculiarities.
Let's wait for the delivery to compare the weapons.

Did you like this racket (PP 100)? How could you describe it?

I think of playing with the 93P only on the fast courts and working on shorter points and finishing in the volley.
On clay I believe I will suffer with it. Probably, 100P is a better option for me.

On clay, Pro 100 or 100 are much better if you are a baseline spin player.
For serve and volley on hard court, you are right, 93P and 100P are better choice. But never forget that they are not so easy on the arm than Pro 100 or 100...

I own two Pro 100 and I love it SO MUCH!!!
93P and 100P are not for me. They are not arm and spin friendly like Pro 100 or 100.

How would you compare these Phantoms?
Where I live I do not have access to the demo program. So, I would have to buy it. Anyway, by the TW playtesters review and by the numbers it is evident that these two raquets are more comfortable (P 100/ PP100) by low stiffiness.
But I would have more difficulty generating power. Not to mention, they say these two racquets are unstable and it would be necessary to customize them, placing lead.
And I do not have much patience with that, because it's going to take a lot of time.
Both 100P and 93P are the most ready-to-play racquets, with more plow-through, crisp feel that i like.
In the end, I think the best choice rests on the style and priorities of each player.

I own both the Pro 100p and the Pro 100. I placed a bit of lead at 10/2 on the 100p to open up the sweet spot a little, and I have quite a bit of lead on the Pro 100 to bring it up closer to the 100p specs. Even when the specs were similar, though, they didn't feel much alike, though I like them both. I feel like I'm able to get just slightly more spin with the Pro 100 because I can swing it a little faster, though from a plow and "solid" feel standpoint, the 100p wins easily, for me. The Pro 100 definitely has a more "flexy" feel from the racquet, but I feel more of a string "ball pocketing" feel from the 100p and less of a racquet flex feel. I prefer the ball pocketing feel of the 100p to the racquet flexing feel of the Pro 100.

I have also demo'd the 100 (with ports) and the 93p. To me, the 100 was too mushy, left me feeling too disconnected from the ball, and lacked stability. The 93p had some of the good qualities that I like in the 100p, but has a smaller head, swings slower, and lacks the same feel in my opinion. The 100p is kind of a compromise between the good qualities of the 93p and the Pro 100 combined. I probably will end up sticking with the 100p as my main stick, though I do like my leaded up Pro 100 and may just keep one of them in my bag as well.

I think all the Phantoms have their pros and cons like most rackets. Definitely if you want to play a more defensive baseline oriented game then the 100 and Pro 100 will be the rackets of choice of the line. The 100 will offer superior comfort and bit better spin, the Pro 100 will give you a bit more control and feel.
If you move to a more all court game the Pro 100P and Pro 93P are the sticks of choice as they have superior feel and control for pin point approaches and volleys. The 100P has the greater forgiveness and spin. The 93P is the most control oriented and maneuverable of the Phantoms.

I regularly use the 100 and the 93P and like them both for different reasons. I'll use the 100 as a pure singles stick playing mostly baseline with a little all court and generally pull it out whenever my arm feels a little tired. The 93P is my go to doubles frame as its pin point serving, great feel on volleys and half volleys, and low launch angle serves me well in that format.

Amen. Everything is said.
I play on clay with maximum spin and slice from the baseline and my game has increasing drastically since playing with Pro 100. And my arm feel so good!!! I'm so happy!!!
And I don't need lead in any case. The control and stability are excellent. With Signum Pro X-perience 1.18, I found my perfect setup.
Tomorrow it will be my first match in tournament with my new weapons... Can't wait!!!

For sure not the same pain with my old Pure Aero... But poly stay poly. You can feel some bad vibrations, even with the best arm friendly frame as PP100.
So yes, little pain (nothing big) with Cyclone after 1h30 of hard hitting. And strictly zero pain after the same time with X-perience.
Trust me or not. Try it or not. But X-perience 1.18 in PP100 play really really great. And look SO cool!!
Will try Kirschbaum Evolution next week as a last test. If it not play better, I will buy a reel of X-perience. It is like designed to be played with PP100. Really.
Evolution may play good in the frame, but it's going to look horrible! lol

My quest is finally over, will buy a reel right now.
And X-perience looks so cool in the PP100... But Evolution looks also AMAZING!!!

I own both the Pro 100p and the Pro 100.

Earlier in the post someone mentioned that the 100P has 6 strings in the throat while the 100 has 8 strings in the throat? Is this the case? I ask because I'm coming from an 14x18 string pattern racquet so I'm used to wide open mains. Just wondering if the 100P has more wide open string pattern (in the mains) than the 100.

Also, does the 100P in stock form swing like it's 329 swingweight would indicate or does it swing lighter?

Looking for a racquet that offers great spin but also allows me to flatten the ball out equally well...the Prince CTS Approach 90 (circa 1988) is the best racquet I've found for this...looking for something very similar.

Thanks for the help!

It has been confirmed that while the number of mains going into the throat are different, the string spacing is identical. The box beam construction had to accommodate in some way. I definitely would not say the 100p has wide open mains.

I can't chime in much on the swingweight as I have requested TW to look for the lowest in that spec for me (was intimidated by the 329 sw). Can always add more to go up but doomed if it was too high.

I personally don't use heavy topspin so I can't comment too much on it. Though between say my TW100 and the 100p, the TW100 is definitely more spin friendly due to wider spacing in the mains.

Thanks for the input...after playing off and on with the 14x18 POG Mid for years I'm always hoping that Prince will produce a 100 sq in 16x18 or 16x19 that has as wide open of mains as my POG Mid - which is actually not as wide open as my 14x18 Prince CTS Approach 90.

Again, thanks for the information!

Can't say this is the 93P. The string pattern isn't open enough. Maybe the rumored 16x19 version?

Thanks for that info...yea with the 18 mains (or even if it was 16) I didn't figure Prince had produce a string pattern with mains as wide open as I'm used to.

Just wanted to bring an update on the Technifibre black Multifeel. This string is still very comfortable and seems to improve in the Phantom Pro as the test continues. It is amazing how much control, comfort and spin this frame-string combination gives. The black doesn't seem to fray as quickly as the natural color seems to. Even though the string has started to deteriorate, it still snaps back beautifully. The black Multifeel string just really compliments Phantom Pro in looks and play.

But I broke it in 4 hours... (natural, 15L)
Same for HDX 15L... Multi doesn't like spin and clay!!
