Adidas Solecourt Boost Official Thread

Inquiring minds want to know all the above and more"

Is the Barricade no more?

How does it compare if it is a Barricade replacement?

And is it worth the extra 30-40$ (that is a 25-30% price increase too!!!)

Boost is quite squishy (at least in the Adidas gym shoes) I'm eager to find out how it stands up to hardcourt, any court really. Who knows it may even will kill off this thread!

It will only be known to me at least when jammed in some desperate corner lunging and jarring down my heel to get to the ball...

Btw at $160 USD this could be the first shoe to top $300 AUD!

(Most recent $130 Nike shoe came in around $240 aud)

What about Flyknits?

I play tennis (4.5 level) in adidas crazylight boost shoes. They are a low top basketball shoe. I've played the last 2 year's in them and won't be going back to regular tennis shoes. I'm not a slider but i can tell you that the stability is there and the cushioning never goes away. The cushioning blows away anything in the tennis scene. But it's not squishy like three ultraboost. I'm happy that adidas finally came out with a good full boost tennis shoe.

Intrigued. I too am curious to see how that Boost holds up to the rigors of hard court. Perhaps a tradeoff between comfort and durability vis-a-vis the regular Barricade?

Sucks that they got rid of the 6 month outsole guarantee. I'm a toe dragger and pretty much went through Barricades in 4 months or so. I would always get another pair through the warranty. Will have to see how these new models perform and hold up. Not sure where to look if they don't. I've tried other brands and models but nothing has worked as well as Barricades.

This + 100000000

Mine are the 2016 model.

I play also in other tennis shoes, just because I have them, and on clay that much cushioning is not necessary for me, but really, everyone should do himself a favour....

That is precisely why I am a bit excited about that new release.

I think that the Tennis Energy Boost and that funny Nike shoe that had a sock integrated are the most expensive mass produced in large quantities shoes to date.

Both total flops.

And I got a pair of each and had change from £100 buying both of them combined!

Tennis Energy Boost were great after break in and seem to hold up well durability wise for me. Still use them as my go to hard court shoe as the cushion is great.

The Ultrafly was a weird shoe. I sized down massively, still got toe jam, ankle pains, strange flex in the forefoot and runs “tall”. However arch support was superb but then was quite a big bump there. I keep going back to them, wanting to use them, willing my feet to work but can’t seem to get through a full session in them. However my son loves his as much as his vapors or ubersonics.

Waiting for a pair of HC air zoom zeros to go cheap enough: I love my grass court versions from the auction site but no grass near where I live,

The sole court boost look really interesting but wish it had prime knit upper with TPU overlays. Looking at some of the Adidas, UA and Nike basketball shoes, you get that combo.

I'm worried the Solecourt won't be heavy duty enough. That's what I want out of a Barricade, I have Ubers, and Vapors I want the Barricade to be a tank.

I think that the biggest criticism towards the TEB was the lack of stability.

The ride was expected to be of a very high quality, considering the Boost in them.

The Ultrafly got all sorts of negative reviews.

The Zoom Zeros seem to be a step in the right direction for Nike, but already information about popping Zoom units might sour the milk. This problem might be inherent to the Zoom technology, as it has manifested itself in the past models as well.

@brian anderson,

We would have loved to playtest these shoes before the launch. Unfortunately, adidas was not able to provide us samples to do so. Our playtest samples are currently on the way and we hope to start playtesting them next week.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

I skipped the 18s as I have very narrow flat feet and the arch support did me an ouch. 15-17 fit great.

In the UK, on another tennis retailer, it mentions the Solecourt as a third line for adidas. Still having barricades and ubersonics. The solecourt was a no compromise shoe that’s speed AND stability.

Oh good, maybe they will do away with the archbuster for the B2019.

I don’t seem to suffer from stability issues on my shoes so probably didn’t factor for me. Looking at my past and current shoes, apart from a team version of an old barricade and a pair of gel res 5, I’ve been speed oriented in the main.

I really couldn’t handle the gel res 5 despite loving my ASICS cricket shoes and all the good reviews

I actually put a pair of them in my shopping cart on the Adidas app two days before the launch as they appeared online. Adidas had a 30% off code going on as well and dropped them down to $112. This is late at night. I went in the next day and it wouldn’t let me check out. After refreshing numerous times, I took them out of my cart and they were nowhere to be found again on the website until the actually launch day. Now I need to wait for them to go on sale after that giant tease.

Adidas will give you a 15% off code for signing up to their newsletter. Note that all orders through Adidas seem to be on a shipping delay atm.

Babolat Propulse Rage might be a good test. I bought previous version, first shoe I ever wore where my toes had all this extra room but fit tight in the forefoot stable and toes never jammed. Narrow up front too. I put 65 inch laces in and use all he holes as well as lacing the side supports so the heel is stable. The new rage looks to be tighter in heel, better. Good for narrower.

The FF is expensive, but it’s a brilliant shoe, IMHO. I’ve worn all kinds of shoes over a couple decades of playing. The FF is the best tennis shoe I’ve ever worn, period.

That said, I’m intrigued by this offering from Adidas, and I look forward to trying a pair on.
Agree 1000%

Does anyone have confirmation that these are actually replacing Barricades? I heard they’re actually not but are rather a third line.

What other shoes have you worn? How does the fit compare?

J

The fit compares pretty favorably to the Vapor 10. Have a narrow fit and they definitely fit my feet better than the Ubersonic 3, and the upper is more supportive. They feel kind of like adidas’ version of the zoom zero, with a sock like upper and good cushion underfoot. A little bit heavier than the zoom zero, but find them a supportive, yet quick shoe.

Great, thanks, length is the same as the Uber3?

It has to have great cushioning since it is boost. but why did they make this shoe? they have Barricade boost so not sure where this shoe fits in ?

Haven’t used Barricades, but kind of remind me of the Gel Resolution 7.
How does the cushioning compare? Is it squishy like previous adidas shoes or is it firm like Asics? Also how is the arch support? Has the shoe stretched out any or do you think it will keep it's shape?

Not sure about the length. Used the Uber3 for like a week and couldn’t stand them. These seem pretty standard for a 9, when I felt the Ubers were a smidge long. These are great; feel pretty solid and a bit heavier than the Ubers but I move better in these.

How do they compare to the Vapor Tour 9.5 in the toebox area?

I am ok with the toebox on these and the toebox of the Barricades runs a little tight for me.

So, are the Sole Court Boosts more like the Vapor Tour 9.5, or more like the Barricade (the top models, not the Club)?

Thank you!

More toward the barricades in feel, but can’t speak to sizing. I have a pretty narrow foot but like a bit of space in the forefoot and these fit fine in my normal size
