This new brand offers high quality strings!
Test them and give your opinion!
Personally I play with the Neon Dust hybrid and it's a killer!!!

I played with that setup, the neon hybrid, that I got from a sponsored friend. It became my favorite string. I loved it. Great control, spin, durability, feel, power. In that order.

Great news knowing it is now available.

The purple string would look sick in my Prestige.

Why don't you play with it anymore?

Better than x-perience? I don't see any 16 gauge for string breakers...
Definitely better than X-perience. Much better spin, control and durability. Little less power but not too much. And most impressive, better comfort!!!

For the durability, the main is really solid and EXTRA SHARP like its name. Good luck to break it quickly!!! :D

I've been conversing with the USA representative and will be getting a few sets to test.

I did ask some questions. Apparently, the Cube Extra Sharp in the hybrid set is constructed of a stiffer material than the Cube in the full set. I asked if the Cube Extra Sharp would at some point be available as a full set for those really looking for the lowest powered version, as well as seeing if I could be provided with the string stiffness rating (and how that rating was derived). I also asked if thicker gauges would be coming, as I string for a couple of people who use wide string spacing racquets.

I'll post back when I hear answers.

liftordie, that string isn't yet available in the US, which is where I am. But it's good to know that it is available in Europe so it should be a simple matter to make it available here as well.

Apparently, hard numbers for string stiffness aren't available from the company. That's okay, as I can usually tell how stiff a string is from just the initial pull, and the string stiffness doesn't always correlate with how stiff a string plays anyway, as I've found out with Revolve Spin that feels elastic when on the stringer put plays pretty dead. I primarily tend to use the stiffness numbers to help me make the best guess as to the string tension to use for the first stringing.

If you really want to know the stiffness (for your own arm), just try it! ;)
But I'm pretty sure the hybrid will play much better than full bed of Cube Extra Sharp...

I’m 41, need power on serve, so would these strings you recommended help?

Must be softer strings. I always use Gut for mains, not sure of cross string.

Can't wait to SPIN this afternoon!!!!!!! :p:love:

Awesome, this checks off the all-important criteria of matching colors with the Phantom :alien: Going to have to try it on my 93P at some point. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the string's tension maintenance and how long it stays playable.

Not sure about the result with the 93P... The Neon Dust hybrid is more designed to heavy spin frame with open pattern. But you could try!

Maybe but the 93P is not really a spin frame... But you could try!! ;)

I may go with the regular Cube strings since it comes in the thinner 1.18 gauge on my 18x20 93P since that is a dense pattern that benefits from thinner strings!

But the 14x18 93P is super open spin friendly pattern, which was why I thought it might benefit from the Neon Dust, but I don't have that frame so won't get to see that combo. :)

Yeah but it's a small head size.....
Really good idea to try the Cube 1.18!! (y)

how does this compare to Tourbite in power and spin potential ?

I don't have access to a full set of Cube Extra Sharp, which is supposed to be a firmer and lower powered version of Cube. I am currently testing Cube and TourBite, strung at the exact same tensions and methods in two matched SW104 racquets. TourBite is a bit more powerful, and the ball speed ramps up more when hitting flat. Cube has more spin and a higher launch angle by a noticeable amount - I've hit some shots that dip down like I've never seen before. Cube grabs the ball better when hitting extreme skimming shots. Cube is also more sensitive to incoming ball spin and this is mostly a problem during volleying.

Both strings feel and react relatively similarly when mis-hitting to the sides and at the throat. TourBite seems to propel the ball back better when catching it high on the stringbed.

TourBite 1.30 is 1 gram heavier when strung than the 1.18 mm Cube, which is 2 grams heavier than 1.30 Revolve Spin when strung.

the thing worries me is in the past with Square shaped strings, it had bad feel, had nice spin but feel was like plastic or non-existant. I hope that isn't the case here

Cube felt very plasticky when holding the string set. It also has minimal stretch when pulling tension, so much so that I was almost short on string for the short side. I've made notes to add 4-6 inches the next time for the short side.

what is revolve spin string ? who makes that and is that poly also? is cube ex sharp one of the lowest powered poly out there ? cause tourbite is low powered poly compared to something like RPM blast.

Revolve Spin is a poly made by Wilson. The TW test was fairly favorable so I tried a set. Best thing about it is the green color exactly matches the Blade green accents. It's a low powered, lightweight, shaped poly that is pretty average in every aspect.

I'll be stringing up the Cube Extra Sharp hybrid set within the next few days.

Yes. **VERY** yellow. I've heard of playability differences between various colors of the same string but because of the different cross string, I'm not sure if I'd be able to feel any of that.
Neon Dust version is something totally different than the first black/grey version.

This demo set has been my first experience with Grapplesnake, so I'd be seeing the difference between the Neon Dust hybrid and the full set of black Cube. I got in 90 minutes this morning with the Cube and am liking it more with every hit. The mains are starting to get moved out of position a little bit already, but it doesn't seem to have affected my ability to put spin on the ball, nor has it affected launch angle yet.

I don't know that I need more spin - 95% of the time I'm hitting moderate top only, and I'd rather have the stringbed feel locked and a bit stiffer on flatter shots than to have the mains be able to slide more but the stringbed feel softer as a result.

No, not yet. I've got TourBite 1.30 in one racquet and the full set of Cube in the other. I'm trying to give the TourBite a full 12-15 hour test to see how it lasts. So far, it's doing well as far as retaining playability despite some tension loss and some notching. It's a good string but I've been playtesting because I need a slightly higher launch angle and want a bit less power than it provides. When I reach that 12-15 hours with TourBite, I'll cut it out and put in the Neon Dust hybrid.

How does this brand compared to Black bear and bear claw string ?? They are both made in Germany it looks like. Is it better quality than black bear ?

Tourbite is also made in 1.20 mm version. Wouldnt' that have been better comparison to Cube 1.18 mm ??
