Are you so in love that you've abandoned the evil Ultra Cable/Red Code Wax test?

Totally, man!!! :D
The Cube Extra Sharp main is a TERRIFIC SPIN MONSTER!!!!!!!! With much better tension maintenance than UC.
And the Liquid cross give great comfort, feel and power!!!
That hybrid is an ABSOLUTE CHEF D'ŒUVRE!!!!!!

Interesting you found PRCW 1.2mm wax coating lasts long. I found the Poly Tour Fire's slickness to last longer. PRCW starts rubbing off and even chafing at around 5-6 hrs. Tension maintenance is very decent though. Revolve's coating doesn't last long nor maintain tension well. RPM Blast Rough is very slick but the coating rubs off the fastest, and tension maintenance is average. I use Volkl 18L or gut mains with PRCW.

why don't you use the Poly Tour Fire if it's better than the PRCW?

thx for sharing! as both of these strings are shaped, do they get notches fast and stay out of place after each shot? or do they rather stay slick and snap back into their positions?

Well PTF's silicone is infused into the poly, just like PRCW's PE Wax. The PRCW's problem is that it scrapes off.

I use it because it maintains higher tension than the PTF. I break or cut poly strings around 10 hrs anyways, and the effectiveness of PRCW 1.2mm is good till then. Lastly, it's a lot cheaper than PTF by 30%!

The problem with most of these is tension retention and stiffness. I am on a mission to find the best tension retention and spin without killing my arm. I have some 18L cyclone on order and wilson revolve to put with some LXN gut.

Try the Neon Dust hybrid.

I use Tour XC in the crosses with gut mains. It also comes in a thinner 17L 1.22 mm. The same string is now rebranded and sold on TE as Prince Diablo Pro.
Does XC 1.22 work too in other hybrids like in the mains with multi cross, or with other poly in cross?
I m not interested in most armfriendly as in most playability.

I tried it in the mains with Prince Premier and Sgut. The performance was pretty mundane in 16x19 - 98 si head and I tried it at a few different tensions. I think in a more open pattern it would be more playable than what I experienced.

Which one did you use as a cross? the main or the cross from the CES hybrid?

I used XC/Diablo 16g as the cross with 17 and 18g Firewire. My thinking at the time was to get the sharp edge of FW higher off the string plane for more ball penetration as well as have a slick coating for FW to snapback easily. FWIW, when I cut the XC out it was still very slick.

I have experimented a lot with slick poly crosses with gut mains. So far I think I like Poly Tour Fire the best. Not as slick as Revolve but better control.

Have tried Revolve, YPTP, Black Zone, Alu Power smooth and rough, RPM Blast, and Cyclone.

You have to try Grapplesnake Irukandji as a cross with gut. Oh yes you have to!!!

I’m about to string up Tier One Ghost Wire in the crosses with gut mains. I liked it in the Firewire Boost hybrid, so I’m optimistic for the gut/poly setup.

I’d second that Ghostwire is a very good slippery cross. Comfy too. Just put it into my PP100 and PP93P and the mains really slide nicely and my balls are really jumping up off the court.

Have you tried this? Looks like the ultimate spin hybrid :happydevil:
Man, I will finally try PRCW (1.20) as a cross with my Grapplesnake CES Neon Dust main (1.25)!!!
CES is a wonderful square string as UC.
I can't wait to see how slick is PRCW and how good the snapback will be!!!

EVIL SPIN is coming!!!!!!!!!! :happydevil:

RPM blast rough - this was recommended by another poster to use as a cross with natural gut and it was one of my favorite setups. Didn't really feel like the rough texture affected durability too much (for me at least), but mileage may vary depending on the player and racquet!
Friction of a certain string a against another string b could be totally different against string c!
Then the different gauges act differently too.
So the question about the most slippery string can not be answered. In TWU database there is extensive data on inter string friction of same strings. Then several strings by Weiss Cannon are most slippery. However i doubt if they would act so slippery against softer strings because they are very sharp and therefore i assume they would cut right into other strings.
