Fed's charities and philanthropic efforts are well publicized.
Well, charities and philanthropic efforts are not the same than supporting "left wing policies", Nadal too have charities and philanthropic efforts, and is believed to be a member of the traditional right wing party in Spain, the Popular Party.

What exactly are left wing policies? Are you from the US? I'd imagine the specifics of this broad term would vary from country to country.

No, I'm from Chile. And as you've said, the terms vary from country to country, here for example health care is considered a right, by the left and the right, we just differ how much we should spend and how on it.
But again, unless Federer goes screaming "viva Maduro" like his fellow Roger Waters, or if he said "f. the EU", I consider Roger Fed's politics non existent.
That's why I mentioned Nadal, since he has clearly supported the unity of Spain in relation to Catalonia, which is a right wing policy in Spain.

I really admire this guy's gamesmanship and sportsmanship...
Did manage to take it to the last point,
Even if he couldn't move, he didn't give up or retire from the match.
You've made me your fan, big Johnny...
Wishing you quick recovery and a very good season ahead...

(Coming from a fed fan)
I really don’t know what to answer. Only two options?

That match was lost well before the injury. When Isners serve gets neutralized
Consistently he has no chance, especially against a top player. Anyone could clearly see the huge holes in Isners game, that Fed exposed.

There is a lot of Mythology here. Prime, Peaking Isner would be met with the same result from an aging Fed. But let pass out participation ribbons, shall we?

Isner always has come across as a well educated, classy gentleman to me. He should do some organizing jobs for tennis once retired.
