Sorry man mind wholly occupied by exams.I foresee some time behind bars for being an unauthorized occupant, having squatted rent free in Ned devotees' minds
Hmm.. this poast (quoted) claims to be occupied by exams while poasting in a thread about Federer.Sorry man mind wholly occupied by exams.
Fed lost. Do the right thing and focus on mourning his loss. Exams will always wait for you next semester. Worked for me... after 22 semesters....Sorry man mind wholly occupied by exams.
what is this garbage?
Just fixed it.Why can't you make a poll where you can view results without voting?
As always, can't rule him out at Wimbledon. But it is only going to get tougher and tougher.
what is this garbage?
He played a good Paris last year and dropped his opening round of London to Nishikori in straight sets. A guy he had beaten easily in that very Paris tournament 2 weeks earlier.Shouldn't have stopped after Basel. One of the setbacks of being old and trying to stay in form and be rested at the same time. For now, try to put Berrettini away easily in case by some miracle this comes down to a tie. Any further than that is business as usual. Get some rest and recharge the batteries. Enjoy the holidays. Forget about tennis for a little while. Then, focus on AO/Wimbledon and stay healthy.
Different situation. He was lucky to win Basel last year. He played terrible in spurts and had to work hard. He coasted this time and didn't have much time on the court. He never looked that good last year in Basel or Paris imo.He played a good Paris last year and dropped his opening round of London to Nishikori in straight sets. He definitely looked good in Paris last year. He was still playing through his hand issue at the time, so his forehands weren't what you'd want. But his matches against Fog & Kei were clinical, and the Novak SF was one of the top 5 matches of the year.Different situation. He was lucky to win Basel last year. He played well in Paris last year. It was much better than Basel. I just feel like this time he took some time off that maybe he thought he needed that he didn't. He sort of messed up his rhythm imo. He could've played a couple of matches like Nadal did and pulled out. He was striking the ball much better in Basel despite what some of these fools around here say about Basel and the competition. Today, his timing was off and he didn't want to move his feet into position for shots. He definitely looked good in Paris last year. I think people are always quick to use that as an excuse but ignore how often it happens even when he does play back-to-back tournaments at his age without a break. He played well in Paris last year. Retire from tennis and live out the rest of his days with a model
Its only be fair, after how long Ned himself has been landlord in his...ROFLMAO!!!I foresee some time behind bars for being an unauthorized occupant, having squatted rent free in Ned devotees' minds
He won Miami and was in a position to win Wimbledon. Playing back to back benefited him. Same goes for Dubai up to the IW run. He started shaky in Dubai playing 3 setters the first couple of matches before finding his form in the latter stages of the tournament. His best results were playing back to back tournaments.I think people are always quick to use that as an excuse but ignore how often it happens even when he does play back-to-back tournaments at his age without a break.
He played a good IW all the way to the final this year but played one of his worst matches of the year to open Miami against Albot. He won Halle but the sky was falling when he dropped the opening set of Wimbledon.
His form can drop day to day, even set to set. There's no guarantee that playing consecutive tournaments will keep any rhythm. I'd rather he just take the rest when he can than overplay in the hopes of maintaining form that can evaporate at any moment anyway.
And he could still win this tournament after a brutal start like he had in Miami, and then you won't be complaining about rest ruining his chances here.He won Miami and was in a position to win Wimbledon. It's been the pattern for him this year. I'm not saying it pertains to other years. Shutting down that old engine and getting it going again isn't as easy as it used to be. He didn't play a lot after Wimbledon. Early exits all over the place and maybe 5 hours on court to win Basel. His first match there no one was impressed. I wasn't. He played into form. I didn't like seeing him just shut it down after playing so well and barely breaking a sweat. You don't have the luxury of playing into form at the WTF when you are playing top ranked players from the git go. It's not like other tournaments. Need to be sharp from the start. And he could still win this tournament after a brutal start like he had in Miami, and then you won't be complaining about rest ruining his chances here.
He's won tournaments after breaks. And he's looked bad in consecutive weeks too. There's not a huge correlation here.
In 2017 he skipped the entire clay season and lost his first match back in Stuttgart. In 2018 he had even more time off and a lot of people here consider Stuttgart to be the best tennis he played that season.
What are you doing here then?Sorry man mind wholly occupied by exams.
I like your optimism, but I don't like what is happening to his return game. It can't fall much more without him falling more in the rankings. Return stats are actually currently higher than last year on HC, but those have to stay up in 2020 and I can't see that happening when he continues to skip events because he does not get enough match play to keep away the rust. With one 5-7 5-7 loss to the Vienna champion all the shovels are out to bury fedr in the typical TTW fashion.
To make SFs he will need to upset Joe Kovic and beat @tennis_pro OR rest his chances on t_p beating Li’l Thiemmie more convincingly than 7-5 7-5. Both are possible.
As to 2020, an early exit won’t doom him. The Nadal has proven what happens at London stays at London for a decade. I’m sure he’ll be a factor at every slam and the Olympics.
Are you VaD from sports.ru ? You say just like VaD is used to.The question is, should we already exclude clay from Thiem-Federer H2H, or we shall wait until it’s 2-10 and then exclude clay?
reported for being a copy catRoger Federer has been one of my favorite players for a while now, but nobody knows what he may decide to do.
