Baghdatis had best ranking #8 of his career before any of his all, four ATP-titles. Probably there are no other top ten players in this respect.

(Afterwards) Also at least Mikael Pernfors. At the age of 23 was in September 1986 # 10. Three ATP titles were still ahead.Two cases: Do they belong to this topic?

Djokovic-Federer rivalry managed a unique thing on Australian Open - they played mutual matches on all three types of hard surface used on AO!

At Rebound Ace (1988-2007):
  • 2007 4th round: Federer d. Djokovic 6–2, 7–5, 6–3
At Plexicushion (2008-2019):
  • 2008 SF: Djokovic d. Federer 7–5, 6–3, 7–6(5)
  • 2011 SF: Djokovic d. Federer 7–6(3), 7–5, 6–4
  • 2016 SF: Djokovic d. Federer 6–1, 6–2, 3–6, 6–3
At GreenSet (since 2020):
  • 2020 SF: Djokovic d. Federer 7–6(1), 6–4, 6–3

The last time someone U-25 won a major was Novak Djokovic at the 2012 Australian Open (24 years, 8 months).

EDIT: I initially put 25 and under for Novak at the '13 AO, but realized Cilic won the '14 USO at 25 years and 11 months. The one above is even more insane imo since no one aged 18-24 has won a major in over 8 years!!!

Titles tell a different (more realistic) story.

The AO 2012 final lasting over an hour longer than the FO 2013 SF.

If this doesn't prove that the AO in 2012 played slower than clay, I don't know what else does.

Embarrassing for a HC to be slower than clay.

I can find many, many stats better than a single match comparison where one match had 10% more points than the other.

If AO 12 was like clay then Djokovic would have never won it.......

Andy Murray only has 1 HC major - that’s kinda crazy given how good of a player he is on that surface.

In his era alone, 4 players won more HC slams (big 3 + Stan) and he’s tied for 5th with Delpo (who won before he did) and Cilic (who lowkey came closer to bagging his 2nd than Murray did)

Nadal has never lost a final at any tournament level to a player born after 1987...that’s flat out insane since drawing Nadal in the finals of a tourney pretty much equals an automatic L for anyone under 30

That's actually insane.

Should have lost to Nishikori at 2014 Madrid, but Kei's body had to break down when he was dominating Nadal.

Struff is 30. I thought he was a mid 20s nextgen.

Playing style/technique wise, he also seems way too identical to berrettini.

Rafa unstoppable at RG since the beginning of time.

But also Soderling def Nadal @ RG 09

Serena losing the USO to Vinci (?? - can’t remember if that’s who she lost to)

Rafa losing to Wawrinka at AO in the fashion he did. (And good on him for not retiring)

Fed winning AO17 after being down a break in the 5th v Rafa. (So much for the “court speeds don’t mean that much” arguements)

Fed beating Rafa and setting up 2 MPs v. Novak to have his possible CAREER ALL TIME GREATEST MOMENT @ almost 38 years old at WB last year.

Fed losing after said 2 MPs

Marin Cilic got duped by Fed in a slam final two times in a row over two years. That must have sucked.
