Millman should take this. Very nice guy from what I've seen of him. If not him, then Thiem or Schwartzman.

It's not that Nadal is the devil incarnate (though to some he may be); it's just that he's up against some really pleasant players. Strong era, if you will.

Wouldn't mind Millman or Thiem taking it but Schwartzman? Nah.. I would not expect it.

Alternate awards - please lodge your nominations now:

John McEnroe Poor Sportsmanship Award: Novak Djokovic (in general I think he's a good sport, but if you hit a linesperson in the throat, you've earned this "award")

Bjorn Borg Worst Comeback Award: Kei Nishikori

Grigor Dimitrov Most Declined Player Award: Nikoloz Basilashvili

Ken Rosewall Old Timer Award: Roger Federer (nobody else older than Rafa did anything of note, and it doesn't feel right giving it to Rafa, so it's Roger by default)

Ivan Lendl Worst Coach Award: Thomas Muster

-Milkman? Hell no. Complains too much and plays with tennis balls like a relief pitcher.

-Diego the one who calls others moron? No.

-Nadal has won it a few times already.

- That leaves Thiem who almost everyone gets along with. Thiem it is.

Seems like Millman isn't as great as I had taken him for. A shame. May as well cross him off, I guess.

Let's go with Thiem.

how did he win in 2004 if he wasn't nominated?
Fedr has been nominated every year since in 2004. This is the first year he hasn't been nominated since he was first nominated in 2004.

This award has lost its significance.
This and Diego ATP Cup incident were first two things that came to my mind.

Yes, it used to be the second most prestigious award after the Basel trophy. What happened?
Think it was established it was on the decline last year when Nadal won the award despite lashing out at a reporter saying that's b*llshit and actively criticising Kyrgioss saying he lacked respect" Definitely not prestigious behavior. We all know to win you should be diplomatic and not swear at reporters. Lord knows i'd take what Millman did over that.

But you should win it for swearing at the umpire. Priceless.

The lady ump he hit (accidentally) in the throat should get the sporting-woman of the year award post-humorously--if she let her hair grow she may be kinda' hot figuratively speaking.

She should collect her award wearing a large yellow ball on her throat. :p
