Djokovic has aged incredibly well in terms of physical appearance

She does indeed. She kind of looks like Nadal too.

Not sure why she doesn't get mentioned. Maybe because Nadal's girlfriend is in the box at the same time and people focus on her?

Interesting that she and her mother are both blond (unless it's tinted). Rafa obviously must take after his dad who used to be dark-haired before it turned grey.

Nadal's sister looks cute, why isn't she mentioned here ever?

You can’t convince me that isn’t Rafa in a wig in the blue shirt lol. I get that they’re siblings but the nose, mouth, facial structure are all identical to Rafa’s.

it’s weird bc I’ve seen other pictures and they don’t look as similar in them.

He will only look even younger once the straight sets finals losses to next gen build up and he gets all that love from the crowd. The crowd’s love will keep him young :-D :laughing:

Maybe yes. Their roots look darker which makes me think it might be dyed blond.

I think Federer looks better now than when he was in his 20s
He is an attractive 40 years old man, but he wasn't an attractive 23 years old man.
Federer needed time and, being honest, money to come into his looks. Although his not being attractive at 23 particularly was down to a really musty look that would be difficult for anyone to pull off. In 2005 he already looked better and only continued to improve from there.

But the thing about Roger, both now and when he was younger, is that while his facial features aren't the standard of male beauty and in most photos he isn't exactly a looker, in videos/real life when his personality comes through - and it almost always does - he is an extremely attractive man. No bias, it's how I feel beyond being a tennis fan and how I see those who interact with Federer seem to feel most of the time. Roger has been a fan favorite for so many years and became one of the most marketable athletes in the world not only because of his tennis and being scandal-free. He has this effortless charm and confidence with which he creates a positive mood and easily commands people's attention. It's a superpower of a sort and it can provide better opportunities than being traditionally good-looking.

I have to say that the guy looks very much the same at 34 as he did at 17. Never had an issue with acne like Fed and Nadal did earlier in life. His skin is incredibly smooth and healthy. Still has a full head hair (looks like black bear fur, a couple grey hairs but this doesn't matter for men). Both Nadal and Federer lost a good 1/3rd to 1/2th of their hair by their mid-30s (Fed's was more like hairline recession and easier to cover up with headband, where Nadal's was more like diffuse thinning on the entire top). So did Sampras, McEnroe, Roddick, of course Agassi, have noticeable hair loss by the time they reached 30. Nadal looks a ton different than he did when he was half his age. The sun exposure gave him a lot of wrinkles and freckles and uneven skin tone, and his face got fatter which detracts from his high cheek bones. Federer's nose grew (it's a sad fact of life that noses and ears never stop growing). Djokovic was blessed with Serbian genetics and has an obsessively healthy diet and fitness routine which is doing wonders for him. Sure, everyone gets older, but Novak is one of the fortunate ones who only looks about 1% older each year.

And for women it matters? Please remove this, it's a sexist comment.

So I guess, now, Novak is the appearance GOAT.!?

Geez! What next?

So much testosterone

Angry, shouting, posturing and what not

Yet DHT levels in the body is under control

djokovicright_1200x768.png

It is not the DHT levels that he has under control, it is the lack of DHT receptors in his scalp around his follicles that is responsible for this. DHT gets produced naturally, especially if you have high levels of testosterone and aromatase activity to convert testosterone to estrogen is saturated.

They look different to me

Sure some features resemble Rafa as they e siblings but this definetly isn't Rafa in a wig or anything remotely close

He doesn't have a lot of body hair either...that too might be a reason.

Ppl with too much body hair tend to lose hair on head quickly ....I think Nadal waxes his body hair

Meh, he has aged about as well as the average 34-year-old is expected to. Fast-forward another two decades and see if you're still singing the same tune.

If you want a better example of an ATP player aging gracefully look instead to/at Stich:

Had never understood what the ladies saw in him until I came across that pic. Stunning, really.

On the WTA side there's of course Gabby:

The (semi-)chandelier locks flatter or at least help conceal her square jawline, and that LBD was a killer. Dunno what she does with her skin (I'm guessing she's one of those naturals) but she's obviously taken good care of it (from her 2015 exo at MSG with Seles, presumably):

You're welcome.
Gabriela Sabatini is just ridiculously good-looking. One of my childhood tennis crushes along with Steffi and Kimiko.

And here's Kimiko, another 51-year old that looks really good and a lot younger than her age:

In terms of hair I am impressed on how Novak has maintained his hair, in this modern day when Athletes are full of testosterone, hair loss is so common

Hair is everything for a sportsperson, the hair loss is so less, that is stunning and exceptional

lmao what's going on with your avatar?

hair loss depends on genetic sensitivity to DHT, not testosterone levels. look at a guy like ronald reagan with good hair into his 70s, thats just genetics

The remarkable facial resemblance to her brother may be off-putting to some...
Yeah not a good idea to talk about it.
But it would only be resemblance of the teenage Rafa.
His face is very rugged and weatherbeaten now, not fresh enough to resemble the femininity of his sister.

Is Djokovic going the Tomic route?
I swear if you showed this to someone without context the only, only possible conclusion is that it was the intro to a porno, lol. What is that all about.

I can’t believe the official ATP tour channel asked them to film that. Can you imagine Roger and Mirka doing that?

It's not just for sportsmen, but men in general.

Novak looks like a guy in his early 30s. It's the strong hairline, and dense, minimally greying hair which makes him look good for his age.

Despite what some people say, Rafa hasn't aged badly. It's just the hair which is ruining it. It's the same with Roger and Andy.

OMG! Must be men posting here. Nadal's mom is bottle blonde! What a ridiculous statement that she is a natural blonde!

Actually, it's both.

That's why different men bald at different ages, it's also why some people who had not experienced any natural hairloss started shedding when they took creatine, and stopped once they quit, as creatine is a proven DHT synthesis booster.

Actually other than hair loss, Nadal has aged much better than Djokovic. He has far better skin and fewer age lines and that's despite spending far more time in the sun

vcI4X8f.png

Nadal looks years younger in the same lighting.
Only because Novak's expression accentuates his age lines while Nadal's hides them. Here is Nadal smiling and showing his age lines:

This is all so lame. I'm older than Federer and somebody was shocked when she knew my age. She told me I looked so young just like a teenager. I've also been asked several times to show my ID at some places to confirm that I'm over 18, LMHO the look at their faces when they saw my date of birth.
