Nondeserving players who won a slam

I got the idea of the thread named "Deserving player not won a slam" to make a similar thread this time about the overachievers-players who were far beyond at quality but somehow won a slam-Thomas Johansson obviously come to mind, maybe Gaudio also. Other suggestions ?

Medved sucks the fun out of tennis

Johansson
Gaudio (lol Coria)
Krajicek was mostly a journeyman, but got hot that one time
Muster huge doper
Korda also an obvious doper
Delpo was talented and had injuries, but also lost to a million mugs
Roddick honorable mention since he never broke through again, retired too early
Cilic honorable mention, he played the mug perfectly most of the time

Difficult to understand this one. Made the FO final the year before winning a slam, and her slam doubles record includes 4 titles, plus another 3 in mixed. All tolled, that's a not-too-shabby 8 slam titles. That's a very fine player.

I'm guessing the reasoning would have to do with the confrontation between Serena and the chair umpire...I do not agree with it, I agree with you, but I'm just guessing

Fair call.

@ollinger I'm an austalian and I found myself really disappointed often times when I watched her. She seemed to be an expert at finding a way to lose .

She was not always mentally strong enough, but she had a very solid and dangerous game. That's why I think she should have won more, not less.

Gaudio went through decent draw.
Johansson do got the easy one including final as Marat was not match fit because of excessive partying

Well to be fair op is not sure, are you talking about One slam wonders or who got slam because of easy draw like some AO in 70s.
There is huge difference, Jelena went through decent to good draw to win slam so I will not call her Non deserving, so as Roddick defeated Nalbandian and Ferrero, while Delpp took down Cilic, Rafa and Fed.
I know Coria choked but Gaudio still went through decent draw.
Thiem also played well, see how he dismantled Med in semi and Zverev in final, he also defeated Cilic and FAA

For a while she had a reputation as a bit of a head case, starting to double fault like crazy when things got tight, but she also seemed to overcome that enough times.

What constitutes undeserving?

I could see it if one gets the benefit of a lot of favorable line calls, or if they were found to have been cheating (illegal substances), but I don't get it otherwise. if another player chokes against you in the finals, are people implying that the one who choked deserved to win? That's ridiculous to me.

Yeah, people confusing one slam wonder like Jelena with non deserving winner.
As I said before Jelena went through good draw so she can't be non deserving

I don't think that any substance AA took was performance-enhancing, and I also took the thread to mean not deserving of winning any slams.
Doesn't matter should have gotten one and a half year to two year ban, most player will get it if they took the substance.
I was comparing Korda and Agassi situation not saying Agassi should be stripped of all slam

There are people who are implying Swiatek. She just turned 20, and won Roland Garros at age 19, dropping 28 total games. If she never wins another match...actually, she's having a pretty good year this year...she easily deserved that title!!

Let say Swiatek loose all matches after that RG even then she was deserving winner as she played well.
Weak AO wins during late 70s were non deserving slam or 73 Wimbledon where most atp player boycotted were non deserving one

Per your latter point, it will be interesting to see what others think. I won't go as far as saying undeserving, even if the fields were reduced. I do see your point, though.

I will not going to call any one slam winner non deserving if he or she played well during that slam with full Participation.
