More than physically being tired, I think it is just lapses in focus when things get...well, stale. Walking over a dude, having done it for most your life, can get VERY boring really. Even Djo talked about that today with the wind and just needing to keep focus in his third set. And that is true of all of us as we age. Mind just goes walk-about.
Anyway, good match for Nadal to test a few things as he was. BH needs more attention and shots need depth overall. Building to the next round.

It's the second round, he's cruising. This kind of thing has always happened to him. He's literally got the finish line in sight while Moutet has started playing for his life, and it's neck and neck.
Look at some of the adjustments he's having to make footwork-wise, and he's making the shots. Don't let a few dumb errors, short balls, or miracle shots from his opponent lead you to believe the sky is falling.

I'm not sure. I said at the beginning of the thread that Nadal is never losing this match barring some extreme circumstances, but the comments would have you believe he was close to losing it.
