I count 16 mains......
Was on the phone with the Wilson rep today...and he casually mentions Wilson is getting Del Potro a new stick. cool. then he informs me Fed has been testing out a few new prototypes to hit with, with the main difference in that he's testing out a larger head size. 93-95!!!!!!!!
so fed may finally not shank those bhs so much anymore!!!
I think its great that Fed is Finally experimenting with new raquet sizes. I hope he finds the right specs that fit his game and it revitalizes him to finally get back to the top of the mens game! This is an exciting time for Fed fans all around.
What if there were to be a 95 square inch, 16/19 string pattern, 17mm box beam with 319 grams unstrung weight "Wilson Pro Staff Six One 95 Blx" released by Wilson next year??
Just speculating......

Sounds good except for the 319g unstrung weight. That's too light. Make it at least 330g unstrung and now we're talking! Also, no BLX nor basalt please, just good old braided graphite and kevlar. What if there were to be a 95 square inch, 16/19 string pattern, 17mm box beam with 319 grams unstrung weight "Wilson Pro Staff Six One 95 Blx" released by Wilson next year??

I find the PS 6.0 85 to be more comfortable than any modern racquet that I've tried and it's nothing but 80% braided graphite and 20% kevlar. The thing just absorbs all the shock and vibration. In fact, every once in a while, I'll hold the throat of my racquet with my left hand on a hard hit reaction volley in doubles to get the racquet up faster and to stabilize it. With any other racquet, this always hurts my left hand and sometimes bruises it. With the PS 6.0 85, I feel nothing with my left hand - no shock and no vibration - total comfort even holding the throat on a hard hit shot right at me. Amazing!braided graphite and kevlar? Too much racquet shock to the arm, throw in some tungsten at least or maybe a cortex system.. oh wait Fed's not with Babolat.
So you're basically saying you like the Ford Mustang soooo much You're going to pass up a Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster, that's pretty much what you've said right there. Not a whole lot of logic in what you just stated. So much more instability in the Graphite/Kevlar racquets, they may have more "feel" but that "feel" is going to make your arm fall off eventually. ;PI find the PS 6.0 85 to be more comfortable than any modern racquet that I've tried and it's nothing but 80% braided graphite and 20% kevlar. Huh? What do tennis racquets have anything to do with cars?So you're basically saying you like the Ford Mustang soooo much You're going to pass up a Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster, that's pretty much what you've said right there. Pros use old racquets only becouse they are playing with what they were used to play when they became pros.BreakPoint said:That's why so many pros use older racquets with paintjobs of the new models on them, why the PS 6.0 85 sold out so quickly on TW, why so many people still seek out the Prestige Classic, and why these old racquet in good condition command such high prices on auction sites.
If the newer racquets are really that much better than the older racquets, don't you think pros whose living and ability to eat depends on winning matches would switch to the new racquets in a heartbeat?Pros use old racquets only becouse they are playing with what they were used to play when they became pros.
I know an ex pro from my town http://www.atpworldtour.com/Tennis/Players/Le/B/Bogdan-Leonte.aspx who is still playing with a Fischer Pro 98 ft(295 g but with lots of leadtape) only becouse when he tried to swich, after Fischer out of racquet bussiness,he couldnt get used with other feeling.
Look at the younger pro players, they dont use PC600 or PS85.
Yet, neither are doing any better than before they switched. Sampras also beat Lendl with a 65 sq. in., 35 year-old wood racquet. Besides, playing on the seniors tour is more for fun and exercise than for titles and big bucks.Courier and Sampras have switched to stay competitive on the senior tour.

The PS 6.0 85 is a better racquet than the n90/K90/BLX90. What do cars have to do with that? When it comes to tennis racquets, the older racquets tend to be better than the newer ones. That's why so many pros use older racquets with paintjobs of the new models on them, why the PS 6.0 85 sold out so quickly on TW, why so many people still seek out the Prestige Classic, and why these old racquet in good condition command such high prices on auction sites.
Haven't almost all the pros switched to poly strings? Why? Because it makes them play better. They would also switch frames in a heartbeat if it actually made them play better, but most of them don't.Pros know NOTHING about racquets, the reason most of them don't play with newer technology is because they hate change. Of course the diehards are going to go for the classic feel but you find people who get significantly better are willing to adapt to a new racquet every 2-5 years. I'm more than willing to work on my touch game than develop shoulder problems down the road because of an unstable older frame. I'm not saying anything you prefer or pros prefer is wrong at all as a matter of fact I'm quite amused by your kind. All I know is I've hit with the 6.0 85 many times and I just can't put it anywhere near my Aero Pro Drive GT, more spin, more control, better feel... for me. I don't completely disagree with you, some companies have gotten better with technology, others not so much. current head racquets shouldn't even be called racquets anymore, they are arm killers with way too much vibration. The O3 princes are much better than the EXO3 princes. Wilson doesn't particularly make good racquets today either, BLXs are pretty much crap. Babolat and Volkl are two companies that havetruly made each racquet significantly better in each generation and even though we're only 2 generations in I'm going to throw the new Donnay racquets into that mix as well. So while I disagree with you, I don't completely disagree with you. ;/
Which is totally odd in that you'd think at least one racquet brand would have gone: there is clearly some demand so let's make something along those lines - but maybe a little more modern. (Wilson sort of tried with the K6.1 Tour but then bungled it with the BLX)That plain old 80% braided graphite and 20% kevlar mix which they came up with over 30 years ago still beats them all. Incredible feel with lots of power and control. Nothing feels better to anyone who grew up using wood racquets.
Looks like the pic has already been deleted.

I still use the PS85 after literally a whole year of demo-ing racquets (and discussing it on another thread here) trying to find something worthy of playing with as an update... maybe a bigger head etc. I'm literally 50 frames into my process and have yet to find anything which I feel like I could play with without constantly thinking: why can't it feel more like my PS85?

Thanks Federernadal13!
Can anyone give an estimate of how long it will take to receive more info on these racquets? It seems like those pics are from some sort of event?
