Wow, Ivanovic got both breaks back.

EDIT: And got broken in her serve. :(

Wow so what happened to Sloane? Anyone watch the match? Did she completely crumble or did Radwanska step up her game? Cuz I'm pretty sure last I checked the score was like 3-2 in the second set...for her to lose the last 9 games of the match...yikes. So yea what happened?

Also...one of the rare times I'll actually root for Ivanovic, but seeing as how it's Errani she's facing, I would really be DELIGHTED if she won.

It was some of both. Aga was not playing well...9 UE in the first set. I've seen her with less in an entire match! Sloane's level dropped and Aga started playing her game. Now Sloane can put a poster of Aga next her poster of Ula.

How did Serena win? It seemed like she was tanking the match or was injured when I stopped watching at 3-0 in the second set.

I was very silly and broke the WTA rule again and bet on Cirstea. She lost a 24 point service game already and I assume has now gone nuts. JJ serving to bagel.

Serves me right.

Same here, except I bet on Ivanovic. She was an underdog and I definitely thought she was playing well enough to beat Errani. Not sure what happened lol.

At least you had the opportunity to close out a profit after the first set (assuming you bet on an exchange).

Cirstea has just taken the bagel from JJ. Hopefully she can rebound. I've been obliged to double at 5.2 seeing as I backed pre-match at 2.1. Stupid betting on the WTA is a dead weight on profits betting on ATP. I'm an idiot.

That was right when she turned it on. Came into the net a bit, started making her serves and hitting winners and yelling come ons. Basically showed up and started playing her game. Domi was ok. But not her best and it would take her best to hang in there with Serena at this level.

Watching Li play is extremely frustrating. She can make some an amazing shot and then follow it with a dumb UE.

Serena double faulting multiple times in each service game, looks clearly hurt.

This could be over despite Serena having a lead.

Outside of the Top 3, the WTA is a mess. You know there's a problem when Serena's down 2-5, injured, with a set point against her and the result is never in doubt.

No way. Serena owns her. Although she does seem to be laboring this week.

It does not matter if she is laboring this week, it is the match-up issue between Serena and Maria and Maria has never been able to give Serena a good fight the way Li Na did today or at least Maria has not been able to put up a good fight against Serena in years.

What many in this thread fails to realize is Serena's fight.

She can be down, injured, laboring in pain...she finds a way to win. This is what separates a champion from the rest. She did this when down with Cibulkova and now today, with Li Na. The only individual who has now become a more formidable threat that capitalizes on Serena's errors is Azarenka, but apparently she is also more prone to injury as of late.

As always, the series is Serena's to lose.

lol true. I think 6-2 6-3 is a reasonable scoreline for that match.

Yes I agree. The great Serena seems way off her game this week so that should allow the untalented Sharapova if she plays her A game to get 5 or 6 games as opposed to her usual 1 or 2.

wow, that shot from Radwanska at second 2-0 15-0 to do a 360 and volley the ball that fell off the netcord behind her with back to the net - it was worthy of comparison with any trick shot. awesome!

so few months ago Aga double bageled Cibulkova who almost beat Serena now
If Li was not that mental she would have beat Serena today

Last year was Venus, now is the time for Serena

Serena playing at 50% still clowned both Li and Cibulkova. Once Serena woke up halfway through the second set against Dominika, it was one way traffic till the end. and it isn't as if Radwanska is playing that great either, she's dropped sets to world beaters Rybarikova, Stephens, and Flipkens. Get a grip.

especially if you see Serena standing next to her with her gigantic, well, you know what :)

This tells me all I need to know about you....the motives behind your comments about Serena are quite obvious.

Agreed. It is not uncommon for SW to start off rusty, then get the focus she needs. This does not work in every match, but there's along history supporting it.

I always disliked Flipkens because of those stupid looking goggles.

Really? Because she wears goggles? I can see disliking players because of their attitude, behavior, propensity towards choking away leads, because they repeatedly beat your favorite player, but because of goggles?

I've never really taken any notice of Flipkens because for a long time she was the forgotten Belgian but now she is playing better than she ever has. She's taken sets off Azarenka, Radwanska and beaten Kvitova. Root for new blood in the WTA not against goggles.

i do not live in a shell, so i am not afraid to name things the way they are, and weather you like it or not, that is the way they are

actually, Rybarikova played really well and in that form she could have beat anyone, the other 2 was just a 1 break that made a difference, the rest was a lopsided match
before Wimbledon final I was reading on here it would be bagels or bread sticks, as it turned out it was a match. maybe you should get a grip
