New 2013 Prince Esp Leak>>>>

Go to the Prince Tennis website and watch the video "I Play Prince". Pause the video at 9 seconds, there is the best picture of the new Prince racquet coming out.

It has the Double Bridge built in String dampener....but look closer. There are ORANGE strings in the racquets. Princes website will only have Prince Products in their videos.

This is the new Prince String that will be released with the New Racquets at the beginning of the US OPEN 2013. It is said to be the BEAST XP on steroids....

Orange string, huh. Well THAT should turn things around for them! Look what it did for Signum and Pacific!

The strings are an orange-red. If you compare them to the burnt orange and the clearly red overgrip tape you can see that. I talked with a Prince rep at the Sony Open, and this string will be used to help to "soften" the open string pattern that the ESP will have.

When 361 nation sent different formulas out, one formula was declared to be too soft or "mushy". They took that formula, and added an octagonal shape to it and changed the color.

Prince wanted the color to originally be red, so Isner could use it....as he already uses red strings. The problem was he didn't want to change racquets, and this string has been directly created for the exteme string pattern racquets. He didn't like these strings.

This is TOP SECRET INFO.

I'm not sure this is completely accurate. As far as I know, the string they were trying to get Isner to switch to was not red.

If Isner continues to use Red Code, Prince could simply make a red string and market that Isner is using it.

As far as "softening" the ESP stringbed...that makes not sense. An open pattern stringbed is soft to begin with.

Double bridge-old is new again

Being an old man I remember that concept. There was a Prince racquet called DB25, white I think.
I am sure their marketing will call it "new & innovative".

Correction. The Rebel 95 (16x20) has a stiffness of 56, were as the OG(14x18) mid has a stiffness of 66. It is a VERY stiff racquet. A true players racquet. Point being, a open string pattern can be stiff, as the new ESP WILL be. As the new Wilson Stem S (16x15) is VERY stiff as well, rated at 69.

OPEN STRING PATTERNS ARE STIFF.

The first Double Bridge Prince Racquet was way back in the 1989 with the Graphtech DB 90 and 110. Then You had the CTS Lightning, CTS Response, CTS 26DB, Precision Response, and Warrior. So its a Prince hallmark. Its a shame its not been on players stick in a while. They are going back to there roots.:)

You are comparing frame stiffness (RA) to stringbed stiffness...they are not the same thing.

An RA of 66 is not a very stiff racquet by today's standards (a RA in the 70s would qualify as very stiff, in my opinion).

RA is more about how a racquet flexes, while stringbed stiffness is about how the stringbed deflects.

The string pattern for the Rebel 95 2013 is 18x20.

Don't forget that the 14x18 pattern in the POG was in a 93in headsize, and it didn't have EXO3 ports.

Correct. Old tech. I'm with you VS.

I played with 3 Prince frames with this tech:
-CTS Synergy DB 24 MP
-Precision 770
-CTS Synergy DB 26 MP

Great feeling frames.

I realize it isn't the same thing, and the EXO3 tech does for sure soften the string bead, but in general open string patterns tend to be stiffer.

I personally like BEAST XP in my Graphite EXO3 100.

As far as double Bridges go, I used the Prince Precision Response Mid Plus (the Red one) and it felt good.

The New Warrior DB has a built in Double Bridge, but it isn't a visible one like the ones we are speaking of, you can see it if you look downwards on the string bead.

Ahhh, the CTS precision response. one of my favorite racquets when i was in high school. would be awesome if they brought them back.

String bead stiffness is determined by : reference tension, string gauge, and string material. Then the Racquet itself comes into play.

I stand corrected on open string bead being more stiff. I was going on what was told to me. I know I can handle my racquet fine, which is all that matters.

I opened this thread so people could get a look at the new ESP and new Orange strings, thats all.

I like to let my game do the talking, but glad you know a lot about Tennis Racquets Mitchellmann.

Just trying to help. Thanks for starting the thread.

cluckcluck, what is the problem with the O-ports in your opinion? Is it cosmetic or one of the racket's playability?

Stringing is a pain first off. Secondly I don't think it adds any advantage for a tennis player (other than being lighter). And yes, it's ugly.

I cant see myself buy any non-port racque other than Prestige... I love those ports, 1st racquet "tech" that is not a gimmick

I don't know if it was just in my mind, but Prince port frames give me the sensation that they swing slowly. Solid frames feel like they cut through the air quicker.

Increased difficulty when stringing and the very muted feeling also make the ports unappealing to me. Overall, they represent too much of a change from traditional racquets without a clear advantage to switch to them. So, I stayed away.

I think beam width and headsize play a large role in how fast a frame feels. My O3 Tour 95, and Rebel 95s swing very fast.

cluckcluck, my stringer has no problem with the O-ports, and I'm happy that the racket is lighter (10.4 oz.). It's easier to swing, and I get plaenty of power off it. (Prince Red 105).

Even though I am sponsored by Prince...I really think I will stick with my 2012 Rebel 95. I am so happy with them; its unreal.

I'll pick up a couple when they come out. I wish they would release an extended version of this frame.
I like the whistle. Audible cue for a slower swinging older player.

I still have a Longbody Precision 770 (now shortened to 27"). The built in dampener doesn't do a thing. I still add a rubber band.
Oh, yeah, it does something - makes your life a misery when you want to thread the thicker strings through.

It's a feel thing. Vibration dampening.

Yep. Prince already tried a similar gimmick not long ago… On the O3 Tours 100, the model that preceded the EXO3 Tour, you had the option of choosing the rubber or the plastic grommets at the bridge of the racquets. I used the rubber thing, which really reminded me of the GraphTech DB (Double Bridge) I played with in '89 (good memory VS Babolat). Good to see Prince is bringing the tech back .

The throat piece on the old Tours is similar, but not quite the same as the Double Bridge. On some of the EXO3 sticks, they added a silicon/rubber piece which sat flush on the inside of the hoop at 6 o'clock, which is similar to the DB as well.

I still used a string damp with my DB racquets in the 90's. I still really liked the feel of those older frames.
