Berdych won't beat Gulbis. I'm not even sure Berdych is going to roll through Monfils in the 1st round as Monfils is hitting form.

Berdych must have the toughest draw of all the seeds. He has to play:
Monfils, Gulbis, Robredo, Almagro, Ferrer, Federer, Nadal/Djokovic to win the title :)

Some ok-looking first rounds:
Tomas Berdych - Gael Monfils
Gilles Simon - Lleyton Hewitt
Grigor Dimitrov - Alejandro Falla
Mikhail Youzhny - Pablo Andujar
Benoit Paire - Marcos Baghdatis

Some potential 2nd round clashes:
Tomas Berdych - Ernests Gulbis
Alexandr Dologopolov - Bernard Tomic
John Isner - Ryan Harrison (who's the best American of the two?)

Potential third round revenge:
Novak Djokovic - Grigor Dimitrov
Rafael Nadal - Lukas Rosol

------------ 1st...............2nd...............3rd...............4th...............Qtr

------------ 1st...............2nd...............3rd...............4th...............Qtr
Federer:.....Qualifier........Qualifier........Benneteau.....Simon..........Tsonga

------------ 1st...............2nd...............3rd...............4th...............Qtr
Ferrer:.....Matosevic.....Montanes.....Granollers.....Raonic/Anderson....Berdych

Three frenchies in a row for Fed!

Yep, potentially. Luckily for Fed he's loved by the French crowd and hasn't had problems playing and beating local heroes at RG before.

I just realized Djokovic has a lot of potential matches coming up that he can avenge. First off his recent loss to Dimitrov, then a potential 4th round vs. Kohlschreiber who beat him there 4 years ago and then a match with Haas who beat him in Miami this year.

Novak to avenge his losses sounds like a good plan.

Federer has a really tough draw. He would not have wanted Tsonga in his quarter and some of those qualifiers are hard to beat.

Fed has a tough draw? Lol!!!! He has like 3 qualifiers in his first 3 rounds. His draw is pure cake.

Nadal is done and dusted. If he even makes the semi he will lose badly. I hope he doesn't even make it that far so I don't have to witness Cvac putting a beating down on him. Cvac will win the tournament by beating Fed in the final. Nobody will stop Cvac this year.

And I hope all of you draw conspiracists feel dumb today. The French would never make it easier on Nadal in any way at RG. They hate his guts there and would like to see him dead and buried.

This might turn really hard on you this time and your jinxing might fail :) if he is to meet djoker not like rome where he lucked out

Murray could've been in Roger's cushy spot. Would've had a Novak-Roger half against an Andy-Rafa half. What a troll.

Can Gasquet and Wawrinka please make the 4th round. Battle of the 1hbh's, but they've only met ONCE before on tour. Instead of this treat we get boring sh!te like Berdych vs Anderson and Seppi vs Fognini over and over again.

Also can Rosol please win just two matches, and then we'll see what happens in the 3rd round? No doubt N.$.K will say he would love for the chance for Nadal to equalize the Slam h2h match-up between the two, but Rosol will have other ideas... He will get fired up to replicate history and prove himself. The pressure will be totally on Nadal.

Because we all know with 11 slams and 24 masters titles, Nadal doesn't know how to handle pressure. I am sick to death of hearing about this one and done mug Rosol. I want Nadal to beat him so that the trolls will finally shut their gobs about him. Enough is enough of this crap.

The amount of repeated matchups is large, with the exception of Nadal in Djokovic's half everything still feels rigged LOL. Djokovic-Dimitrov, Berdych-Gulbis, Nadal-Rosol, Federer-Tsonga.

Janowicz could capitalise on an injured Stan and could get further than the 3rd round, Fed has a free pass to the finals, Simon is a non-factor after last week, Tsonga is in error mode this year, and Benneteau can only threat Fed on fast courts.

IMO Dimitrov will win the first 2 sets against Djokovic before going down in 5.

When will they fill in the Qualifier's names?

Well the third round of qualifying finishes today, so probably sometime soon.

Young Americans are putting up a pretty good showing in the qualies by the way - we got Dennis Kudla, Steve Johnson, and Jack Sock through to the main draw.

Assuming that the draw is drawn fairly, the chances of Federer had to be guaranteed to play 2 qualifiers in his first 2 rounds are:

0.39%

Doesn't matter, gets Tsonga quarter. Sh*t, how many times did Tsonga get someone that isn't Federer in his quarter FFS?

Tsonga isn't gonna hurt Fed. It's clay, and Tsonga's game is deteriorating exponentially ATM.

Ehm, Tsonga had MPs against Novak at FO last year and pushed Fed to 5 at AO this year so saying he's not gonna hurt like it's a done deal is hilarious.

What is it with this jinxing/anti-jinxing nonsense with Nadal fans & Fed haters? Dude, it's OK, it's extremely unlikely Fed's gonna win the FO, cakewalk draw or not.

Tsonga can beat him, so can Simon and yes even Ferrer (forgot to add Berdman as well though I doubt he'll reach SF), Fed's in pretty lousy form right now, too lousy for you to be that scared of him.

Noticed this too. Kudla followed up his 15-13 3rd set win with another win. Nice! Hopefully 1 or more of them can win a round or 2.

Have you not watched Tsonga lately? He can never start a match firing lately, it takes him at least a set and a half to get into gear. Fed is one of the best front-runners, I think you haven't realised that Fed was in error mode in AO since the quarters.

Ferrer will take care of Berdych. And him taking out Fed?

You haven't watched Fed in Rome have you? I doubt Simon would pose any threats at all seeing how Fed just destroyed him 1 and 2 a week ago.

And seriously stop accusing every Fed fan of being a Nadal fan attempting to jinx everything. Have you not got other better things to do?

When will they fill in the Qualifier's names?

Names are filled in and Fed has two young quickly rising spaniards to deal with in the 1st two rounds.

Kudla v Hajek, USA may have a shot there.

Johnson v Montanes, don't see much chance there.

Rhyne Williams gets in as a lucky loser, v Przy, no idea.

Sock v Garcia Lopez, not lookin good there.

Anyone think Vesely could knock out Kohlschreiber? It looks like he's been amazing in Challengers and Futures this year and last.

Anyone fill out their brackets yet? I think I'm most curious to see who people have in their round of 16? That's where I find myself with a lot of unexpected names. I don't have much confidence in most of the guys ranked in the teens like Isner, Raonic, Simon, etc. so I've ended up with:

Djokovic-Tursunov
Sock-Youhzhny
Nadal-Paire
Janowicz-Gasquet
Gulbis-Almagro
Llodra-Ferrer
Tsonga-Troicki
Hewitt-Federer

Djokovic-Kohlscriber
Haas-Andujar
Nadal-Paire
Pospisil-Gasquet (this was an interesting one. Pospisil found himself here through me banking on him fairly closely beating Zeballos, who is on a 6 match losing streak while Pospisil is doing okay but is warmed up due to qualifying. Then he beats Wawrinka, who would make it through the first round but lose here to due injuries. Then, he would beat Janowicz in the next round because for some reason I see Janowicz imploding at that point in the slam.)
Gulbis-Almagro
Raonic-Ferrer
Tsonga-Cilic
Simon-Federer (not quite sure what you were dreaming up when you put Hewitt there)

I like your Pospisil-Gasquet match-up. I had some of the same thoughts on him and Wawrinka. Watching Simon lose yesterday and completely roll over for Roger last week make me think he'll go out in the first round to Hewitt. I also have Querrey going out in the first round. One last big tournament for Hewitt. I'm dreaming, I know :)

This is possibly Ferrer's best shot yet at making his long deserved maiden GS final.

He might need to take down Federer in the semis, which he has never done, but I think it's doable based on 2013 performance.

He could even win it! Djokodal might just kill each other in the semis.

Djokovic has a tough draw... Berdych's is even worse with Monfils first round and possibly Gulbis second round.

Happy to see Wawrinka is playing.

Here's my R16 Predictions (there will probably be some upsets, but I say most of the top 16 will hold):

Djokovic-Kohlschreiber
Haas-Andujar
Nadal-Paire
Wawrinka-Gasquet

Berdych-Almagro
Raonic-Ferrer
Tsonga-Cilic
Simon-Federer

1st round matches of interest

Wawrinka-De Bakker
Stan will likely take this one, but De Bakker is a dangerous match. Used to be dangerous draw until his horrific meltdown vs. Monfils back at the Aussie Open a couple years back. That was hard to watch. If Stan is playing hurt, though, this could be interesting.

Przysiezny-Williams
These guys played each other in third round of qualies. Przysiezny wins, Williams get a LL spot, and they draw each other. Just thought that was worth mentioning.

Berdych-Monfils
Def the most interesting 1st round matchup. If Gael comes out guns blazing, Berdych will have his hands full early. Not something he wants. Picking Berdych to win, but we all know Gael can win if he's hot.

Kavcic-Duckworth
A rematch from their Aussie boxing match. Anybody think this will go for 5 hours again? ;-)

Johnson-Montanes
Both of these players have a lot of firepower and craftiness. I'd love to see Johnson win this, but Montanes will probably outlast him. Still, great matchup.

Nieminen-Mathieu
Picking Nieminen to win this one, but it could turn into a slugfest very quickly.

Stepanek-Kyrgios
Curious to see how Kyrgios does for his first French Open. Doubt it will be competitive, though.

Benneteau-Berankis
Shocking, but this is actually Rycka's first Roland Garros. Benneteau will probably roll him, but both are solid grinders. Should be a fun match to watch.

Federer isn't losing a GS semifinal to Ferrer, not yet anyway. I really hope Nadal spanks Djokovic in the semi but I wouldn't be surprised if he loses. I would like to see Haas do well, that 2009 match against the Fed was heartbreaking.

Which points to another Fedal final. I was hoping we could get the same final as Rome. So exciting, probably the best final of the year, one could hardly get tired of such gripping entertainment :p

We all know the real final is Novak Djokovic v Rafael Nadal.

The determined challenger with the heart of a lion against the undisputed king of the clay kingdom.

It would be an interesting match indeed. That's if the real Djokovic turns up though, because if he tackles RG with the same kind of form he's shown in Madrid and Rome, he might as well bow out to Goffin in the first round.
