great match! Krunic is my new girl to cheer for. She doesn't choked on big stage. Azarenka got a little bit of lucky, but she deserved this one. this was a tight one.

Krunic has class! The Spasiba when complimented was nice. She maintained her composure after the loss, despite the hurdles she had to jump to get here. She waited patiently despite all that cringeworthy antics, to walk off together. Azarenka should have noticed.

if girl this small can serve 116 MPH, I can serve 116mph. or is it that Racket the greatness of pure drive that is serving that hard ?

Honestly, the service motion is supposed to be effortless regardless of what racquet you use. I think a lot of people have the strength to serve over 100mph, it doesn't take much muscle power to do so. You'll notice that most of the pros who serve that fast are pretty slim actually. The real difficulty comes in directing that power properly, which is very difficult because technically the serve is arguably the most complicated shot in the game.

I kind of thought it was good for the loser to walk and let the winner have their time especially a few rds in... that being said nice display of respect.

amazing match. I was hoping for a Krunic win. Azarenka was too animated in a nasty way during the match and then it was embarrassing trying to watch her try to endear herself to the crowd and nobody bothered to sing happy birthday with her - totally nutty. And I hope someone can tell Krunic to smile - she looked like a forlorned sad sack.

I think Krunic should have walked off the court after she lost - as all the other players do. No reason to stay on the court as it takes away from the winner of the match - in this case, they were all rooting for Krunic - and I'm sure Azarenka wouldn't like to see her sticking around after the match. If it was the finals, of course it's customary to stay on court - but in this case, I didn't feel Kunich should stay on the court after she lost.

Apparently they do that at ITF events.

She has never lost a match at a big stadium . For a person who plays qualies and ITF, she may not know the custom.

All her previous rounds she won. So, dont make a big deal.

See how playing smart can work? Thats why I never felt Hingis should have given up. I know she was hurt alot but she could have still competed well.

The Big Babes-Davenport, Capriati, and, of course, the Williams sisters, took turns waxing her *** during the last 18 months of her "reign" at Number One, which led to the lengthy "foot injury," but those 4 either retired or became injured, so she thought that she could slink back into contention. Then she tried to snort up the baseline, and that was THAT. Jankovic, Wozny, Errani, and Radwanska all have had very high rankings at one time or another, but, between the 4 of them, they have as many majors as a dead woman. That isn't an accident.

Oh I agree. I think she would have had a hard time winning another major. But I do think she could have stayed competitive if she would have stuck it out. I think she may have been able to sneak another major if things would have fallen her way. Plus she had time to refine her game.

They know alot of jack about her. Millions of them watched her running around at the olympics with a toruch making putin look good while she lives in florida and has for the last 15 years. You think americans dont see this? Ok midas. Its not just that. She isnt well liked in this country, I hate to tell you. People dont like her screaming, they dont like her constant bathroom breaks, they dont like her taking forever to serve and they dont like refs being scared of her to call her on it. Tennis fans are pretty smart they follow these things. Now regular people who buy her candy? Sure they dont follow her bs. But hell alot of people buy Kardashian products to.

I agree with every sentence, every word, every syllable, and, from what I've heard, they're not exactly gushing over her in the old country, either.

Vica, not winning any fans tonight

True. Early on, I wanted to like her, despite the fact that her style doesn't do anything for me, and don't get me started on her serve, but the screeching, then the BS against Stephens, uh....no. There was nothing major tonight, but her gestures and expressions seemed forced-even the way she struts around the court at times is annoying. And I say all of this despite not having even see the Happy Birthday deal.

One thing Krunic needs to do is be more likeable. She doesn't play up to the crowd, looked like a zombie out there was a nasty expression - like she was mad the entire time. She should look like she has some type of emotion. I thought she's a great player - but she certainly won't endear herself to the crowd with no charisma and personality.

I thought it was quite rude of her not to acknowledge the crowd's ovation for her--she should have stood up and waved and smiled instead of putting her head down and pulling at her shoelaces. Not very gracious. But perhaps she thought she would be interviewed and would address the crowd then? She didn't seem too sure of procedures.
