It was 2005 Madrid when Federer was out with injury.
Yeah. Pushed Fed to a 3rd set tiebreak in Rotterdam and at the YEC, both in 2005. He was no gimme.Ljubicic was great on the indoor scene in 2005, super win

Weird season from him, finals of Doha, Rottadam and Dubai and then some great wins and play in Davis Cup, then sort of nothing in the middle of the year before making back to back masters finals and winning Davis Cup. Kinda brutal really because he lost nearly all his title fights that year, but I'm sure he's content with the Davis Cup.

Went onto lose to Federer in Miami in 2006 also, all in tie breaks. And no breaks of serve if i recall.
Poor guy lol. Glad he finally got a masters in 2010, shame it came at the expense of Roddick though.
Berdych shushing the Madrid crowd the next year was also epic.
Roddick 5-4.Berdych shushing the Madrid crowd the next year was also epic.
I remember Nadal wasn't very happy with Berdych afterwards. Calling him an as@hole or something similar during the handshake after the match. When the iconic term Bad Person Berdych was coined.
For all the next gen bashing, Ljubicic was like a poor man's Hurkacz ROFLMAO.
Well, nobody was ever hyping up Ljubicic anyway. For all the next gen bashing, Ljubicic was like a poor man's Hurkacz ROFLMAO.
Yes was good indoor player, there are no majors for them, that is really a laugh that he won IWFor all the next gen bashing, Ljubicic was like a poor man's Hurkacz ROFLMAO.
Actually lol I can see the parallel, both liked fast surface and managed to win slow master lolWell, nobody was ever hyping up Ljubicic anyway.

Understandable reaction. The Madrid crowd is one of nastiest, rudest, most offensive crowds in the whole Calendar.Your beloved player shouted something in Serbian at the 2013 Madrid Open crowd. Read here:

Why can’t you be profane in American!www.thebiglead.com
This is your imagination (that's what you always do).I remember Nadal wasn't very happy with Berdych afterwards. Calling him an as@hole or something similar during the handshake after the match.
You should replace the words 'Madrid' and 'crowd' with the name of your beloved player ND.Understandable reaction. The Madrid crowd is one of nastiest, rudest, most offensive crowds in the whole Calendar.
It wasn't my imagination. The whole PC after the match was quite heated because of Nadal's disrespectful comments towards Berdych. Few people in the building saw Nadal saying as@hole to Berdych, but Nadal of course denied in the PC. Who knows what was really said, but certainly not a good look from the humble Mallorcan at that time. This is your imagination (that's what you always do).
¤¤ Berdych said that Nadal had criticised him when they shook hands at the end of the match. ''He said 'You are very bad'.¤¤
Nadal and Berdych fall out over crowd behaviour in Madrid
MADRID, Oct 21 (Reuters) Czech number one Tomas Berdych said he was bemused by the reaction of both the crowd and Rafawww.oneindia.com
Q. I need to go back to the subject that we talked about before. Don't you think you may have made a slight error when you shook hands with him and on TV you said he was an a$$hole?
RAFAEL NADAL: No, I didn't say that. Maybe you heard me wrong. I said he was stupid. That's a little bit less disrespectful.
No, in my opinion it hasn't been an error. In you're saying it's been an error, I respect you.
Q. No, I'm not here to give my opinion.
RAFAEL NADAL: Yes, you've given your opinion. You're going to have yours, and I'm going to have mine. An interviewer can have their opinion.
In my opinion he's a player that has an irate attitude. It's not an irate attitude that I have. He's not a bad person. He's said I said it in a cold tone of voice. End of story. You saw he left the stadium with the whistles of the crowd.

In such a crap weather country like England only such courts were possible.Well, you fail there.,
Have you ever seen Ljubicic's serve? For all the next gen bashing, Ljubicic was like a poor man's Hurkacz ROFLMAO.

You don't know what Rafa said (and you are fabricating stories), but Berdych knew, I quoted Berdych (!) in my post #32: ''He [Rafa] said: 'You [Berdych] are very bad'.¤¤

You fabricated yet another fake story!Saying "you're bad" to opponent after losing? That's pretty shameful. Sore loser stuff.
You fabricated yet another fake story!
Rafa; ''I said he [Berdych] was a bad person for what he did at the end. But that's the end of the story. He showed why he is one of the best in the world and why he is close to the top 10. He played very well and beat me even though I was playing well too.''
Lots of things were happening after that match. Berdych comments about the disrespectful Madrid crowd, Nadal salty comments about Berdych. Not a great sportsmanship and exemplary behaviour from the Mallorcan humble warrior, that's for sure.Saying "you're bad" to opponent after losing? That's pretty shameful. Sore loser stuff.
What it tells us?It was 2005 Madrid when Federer was out with injury.
