Djokovic reaches his 12th GS final.

Out of the last 13 GS tournaments, Djokovic has made 10 finals (winning 5, and losing 4: two to Nadal, 2010 US OPEN and 2012 RG, two to Murray, 2012 US OPEN and 2013 WB) and 3 SF (losing two times to Federer, 2011 RG and 2012 WB, and once to Nadal, 2013 RG).

He is clearly the most consistent player of the last 3 years.
Especially in slams: 3 finals this year. His record in masters has been worse than usual though.

good win for Djoko.

Its going to be a bloody war on Monday and Novak will prevail.

Just coz Nadal won 2 FO slam matches on clay doesn't mean he will do the same on Hard Court. Novak is the king here and his close win in a masters final is something similar to what Novak achieved in Monte Carlo this year.

Its very different in slams and Nadal & djoko both know that very well!

Djokovic also will still be nº1 next week. It will be his 98th total week at nº1 (Agassi at 101 weeks and Nadal at 102 weeks are very near, he could pass them during October, but Nadal may be nº1 again by then).

You're not taking a big risk, lol.

I know but still this is the only way some of the people of your brigade can join hands with me.
Why some members of your brigade so obnoxious? You do become one when talking about Fed but then I avoid you at that time. ;)

Congratulations to Djokovic! He raised his game whenever he had. Wawrinka left everything out on the court. Great win for Djokovic. These two players backed up that tough match at the AO with another absolute war.

What a match. Stunning quality at times.

Gutted for Wawrinka, who seems to be playing better than ever, but Djokovic deserved the win. He won while not playing his best tennis and that's what champs do.

Stan should be showing at the SF stage more often, he has the quality to do it.

It's not as bad as the AO match. I don't think Wawrinka played that good tbh. Djokovic played bad at the start and that's why it started so one-sided. For the rest of the match, Djokovic seemed like the better player (while still not playing fantastic) and Wawrinka just looked tired and physically drained.

At least he made the semis.

I only caught the last set, but yeah, the AO was slightly brutal. Hopefully he will go onwards and upwards. I feel bad for him, and I've had a drink so, you know, alcohol and all that.

Nadal hasn't beaten Djokovic in a Grand Slam other than Roland Garros since 2010 - thats why. Since that time Djokovic has beaten him at Wimbledon, Aust Open and the US Open.

Forget about the Mickey mouse tournaments - Djokovic in slams is a different beast.

I expect Djokovic to send the drugs cheat packing.

100% agree. Against Nole this year BP has lost, then barely escaped on his best surface, now he's on Nole's best.

Yes he did.
For some reason people like to somehow show off by saying 'F' this 'F' Tthat, but don't seem to realize it's actually quite embarrassing :-?

It's the way people talk. The media censors are the ones who have their heads up their "aces."

Great match. Stan produced some great tennis, Djokovic hang tough. It came down to fitness - Stan gassed in the 5th. There are simply not many who can match Djokovic and Nadal's endurance in a match that goes the distance like that.

This. Nadal fans are living in lala land. I saw so many threads before wimbly and everything was busted in about 3 days after the tournament started.

Add Tsonga to the list. Maybe even Del Potro who's won here.

Game 3 of the 5th set will be hard to top, even in the final. That was epic.

Thank you Stan for making this match extremely competitive.

Magnificent match by two great players despite windy conditions. Shotmaking at its best. I really enjoyed it.

Wawrinka's level is well above Nadal's currently and I expect Djokovic to have much easier job in the final regardless of opponent.

Wow, Djokovic has participated in the best match at every slam this year IMO. And Wawrinka has been in half of them.

Djokovic is a great defensive player. This match could've been an all time great match if he played aggressively.

This match seemed incredibly physical to me, Djokovic was having to cover an incredible amount of ground very quickly due to the pace Stan was hitting. It MUST have taken something out of him, no matter how "gluten-free" he is, big advantage for Nadal.

not really..this was the only tough match djoko has had..apart from 40 mins v youzhny..

good news is that djokovic has his semi first and the final is on Monday so its physically even-stevens for a likely final v rafa (2 sets up so far.)

hopefully a good close final like this match was.

SoI undrstand I missed an absolute belter of a match? ish I could have seen it, I only saw part of their match at the AO and that was great.

But I feel so bad for Stan... He'splayed such a great match vs Djokovic in back to back HC slams, this one to make a slam final, and he lost both. That's really harsh, especially as i thought he was the better player in Australia from what I saw.

Here they won the same amount of points and I think Stan won one more game.

I also heard Djokovic was screaming abuse at his coach? WTF? Is he turning into Murray? I don't like this one bit, I feel like acting that way he deserved to lose the match.

Wish Djokovic didn't have to keep beating Stan like this, especially when Wawrinka plays such brilliant tennis

Is this all over now for Stan ?? He may not get a better chance to take home the major. but even if he won today, he would have been destroyed by Nadal so it may not make any difference.

Oh come on now, it wasn't even that bad. Funny thing, when he got the warning from the umpire, he stopped with the shouting and the looks and concentrated on his tennis.

It won him the match.

I didn't actually see it, I just heard about it. But why copy Murray in one of his worst aspects? I hope that's the last of that bs. If you are losing on court, don't shout at your coach, shout at yourself! I hate that attitude and Nole neds to be better than that. Hopefully he stops.

I suspect Stan was injured here. His game is certainly much better than in years past, and he was en route to eliminating Djoker before his groin started to bother him. His dismantling of Murray and play against Djoker suggests Wawrinka's a top player now, and when you're there, there should be more chances.

That's true. Djoko/Wawa at AO, Nadal/Djoko at RG, Djoko/Delpo at W. 3 best slam matches of the year for sure. And I have a feeling Nadal/Djoko in the final could easily surpass this semi.
