No that is why fed is playing play Clay this year because his his swansong he wants to say goodbye to everyone

Thiem losing to that Polish guy and Federer losing a set (match?) to Albot.

I think this proves that Thiem did not play at a high level in the Indian Wells final. Federer was just bad that day and both had kind draws to the final.

In other news, Reilly the Smiley has taken out the vertically challenged Schwartzman. He claims his second career masters win, which have both come this week.

There was eight breaks of serve in this battle of tallest vs shortest.

Draws play a big role huh?

Fed will still take this if he can get early breaks in the 2nd and 3rd, but if Albot gets to about 2-2 or 3-3 in either set he will win.

This reminds me of why I was getting worried during IW. He was winning easily, but I thought it had more to do with his opponents playing like crap and spraying errors.

Just like the final, today he's playing a guy who isn't missing, and he has no answer for it.

Fed ain’t winning today. I’ve already moved on; if Fed isn’t bothered (and he certainly doesn’t look it) then neither am I!

So is Opelka taller than Karlovic?

Fed is much better shape now than Halle18. No doubt he will ramp up things at Wimbledon. Serve and net play is pretty good from Fed on these slow courts. So yeah, Wimbledon.:laughing:
I've lost all belief. The first top player he plays in an event he loses to nowadays. I admire your optimism though.

nothing will be worse than the stakhovsky loss at wimbledon some years ago

then i had to watch video after video of the pretentious ukranian talking about how he "understood" fed's game and was reading the slice, etc.

Similar thing was said by Tsitsipas after the Hopman Cup match

I don't know if it's because this is a first round match or if it's because it's Miami, but I just don't care enough if Fed somehow loses here.

I guess that's how Fed feels as well.

ALbot is ranked 46 And 17-5 for the year

He does not make mistakes and has an all court game . He is like the Spaniards and will not give the match on a platter in this form

At least then he had a back injury and was playing like crap before that. This is just being 37 and not giving a F.
