Nadal achieved the Spanish double on clay in 2013 and again in 2017. Alcaraz has done it in back to back years 2022 and 2023, being the first to defend the Spanish clay court double.

Overall in the direct comparison at this stage in the career, where both turn 20 for big titles only

Nadal had 1 RG, 2 MC, 2 Rome, 1 Canada, 1 Madrid Indoors
Alcaraz has 1 USO, 1 Madrid, 1 Indian Wells, 1 Miami

But Alcaraz will have to keep up the pace, because Nadal is about to beast his way to his 2nd slam and three more masters before his 21st birthday.

Federer with zero Barcelona titles...
Barcelona has zero importance when it comes to a big stage tennis.
Let's compare what really matters. For example: Basel & Halle. Federer won it 20 times in total. How many times did Alcaraz and Nadal win it?

I guess soon we should expect threads about who is the better player on clay between the two.

We all know Nadal is better, he was in the midst of his 81 match winning streak at this stage of his life. Carlos isn't touching that.

Even with the fact that Madrid clay didn't exist until 2009, that's kinda surprising that Rafa never defended the double.

In 2010 Nadal skipped Barcelona, but won Madrid. In 2011 he won Barcelona, but lost to Djokovic who simply had his number that year. In 2012 everyone except Federer and Berdych suffered the blue clay experiment. 2014 he was actually playing very poorly all clay season long and should not have won Madrid that year either, only won it because Nishikori broke down. In 2016 Murray and Djokovic were too strong in Madrid. 2018 was loss to Thiem in Madrid.
