Bump.

Anyone know if this has been settled or any other news on it? I can't seem to find anything and the original link no longer works.

Crazy that Babolat is the one getting the flak for this. At least Babolat doesn't really seem to make completely custom frames, the pros are just using older versions of retail rackets. Surprised Wilson or especially Head hasn't had the lawsuit. Head just makes no sense with who they have endorsing certain lines of rackets.

As bigger companies I am sure Wilson and Head have both had challenges and more importantly better language in their fine print to prevent being on the losing end of one of these.

Here's an update: I just received a $100 check in the mail today from Babolat for 2 racquets

Such unfortunate "victims" you are! Did you sign a document saying "yes, I'm really not very bright, I thought this racquet would allow me to play like a pro" or something to this effect. I've not sought money for the Bab frames I've used, this sort of litigation seems to me a waste of society's time and I couldn't imagine participating in it if I didn't feel I'd been "injured" in some meaningful way by the deception.

How's the weather up there on your high horse?
I think of it like a mail in rebate for an overpriced piece of graphite that they made plenty of profit off of me from. I'll probably be doing the same thing with mine as Devil_dog...

well even if it seems silly it still does serve a elgal purpose. even though we can not assume most "adults" are really hurt by addvertisign that is like what racquet comapnies do, it is not about the victims as much as the perpetrator. Its a punishment to babolat for "fasle or misleading" advertising in a hope to curtail the practice in the future. The people who get the checks aren't really victims in any normal comprehension of the term, just the folks how get the checks over anybody else. The money has to go somewhere. Do you have a better legal way to keep companies in line with advertising?

Got $300 in the mail. Will probably be giving it right back to Babolat in the near future.

New Pure Aero, perhaps? Moved on to a Head Instinct, but have a history of using the Aero in the past. If the new version is favorably received, I could be tempted.

Possibly. I'm waiting on the specs and TW reviews and of course playtest of my own before pulling the trigger.
