Agree. Definitely needs to be someone who's been around for a few years and already has a reputation as a top player.
Biggest danger I see for Boris is he becomes coach of a newcomer and quickly "takes over" the show instead of playing second fiddle like he did with Djokovic.

of course, the obvious broom closet joke. People do grow up, you know. I suppose Becker is way past that part of his life in the past. It doesn't detract the point. He has turned out to be a much better coach that I expected. Maybe he was just a good fit for Djokovic in that stage of Djokovic's career. Maybe he can also help somebody else.
Besides going by his record, Becker doesn't date WTA. He isn't Radek Stepanek.

It was pretty childish and I apologize to both you and Boris. Boris is a very deep and often misunderstood genius.
In his defense, I remember him saying years ago that he was a great admirer of the fine attributes of former WTA player Ashley Harkleroad. He said he regretted that he wasn't able to get to her earlier while she was blossoming on tour.

I second that. Thiem, similar to how Djokovic was when he took BB as a coach, is a great baseliner but still needs a lot of work in serving and being generally more aggressive and able to shorten points. Boom-Boom will be perfect. They can even talk in German.

If Boris does take on one of the younger guys it will be interesting to see if he can coach him to a maiden Slam title. Djokovic was already a multiple Slam champion with as many titles as Becker when they first got together. A younger guy who has not got there yet would be a totally different proposition and a much more difficult challenge for Boris!

How about Kyle Edmund or Dan Evans? Boris lives in London so it won't be far for him to commute!
Not high profile enough. A guy with Becker's ego wouldn't be in the player's box of a non superstar. Plus those guys couldn't pay him a fraction of what he'd ask.

I thought of it. I wish Boris would coach Naomi Osaka, especially help her with her serve.
Osaka's serve should be/can be the most powerful part of her game, but after Tokyo it seems there are some big flaws with it. If she doesn't fix it now while she is still so young but continues with it as it is, she will have some apparently good serving days, but mostly very erratic days of form, which will be reflected with her matches also. In the end she will end up with an injured shoulder and beyond repair serve.
And help her with her volleys too.

It's coaching players to become superstars that is the mark of a really great coach. Coaching existing superstars to even greater superstardom is only a half-battle at best. Boris should bury the ego and his financial demands and remember this when he applies for his next coaching job IMO.

Too right, Thiem is mature beyond his years and is very discliplined, would make BB's job a lot easier.
Some people have suggested Kyrgios, the complete opposite to Thiem, Boris would need a team of psychiatrists as well.

I would love to see Thiem and Rafter. Rafter can teach Thiem to attack more and shorten points. Rafter also can teach Thiem how to use that kick serve effectively. Just my opinion.
