@Babolat Official The new look of the Pure Aero is just HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like a lot the moutarde but NOT as a color!!!!!!!!!!! Vous avez complètement craqué !!!!!! I will not soon replace my Pure Aero's!!!!!!!!!!!!

@Babolat Official, TWU is showing the 2019 Pure Aero with only a 143 vibration score, well down from previous iterations in the 148-160 range and actually the lowest vibration score ever given for a 67 stiffness racquet. What’s different about this version that cut the vibration so much?

Maybe the relocation of the Cortex? The oval grommets? Who knows?

Well ,, it is much less stiff than previous version so you would expect lower vibration score, right ?

To the Babolat representative, thanks for participating. Tennis Warehouse is currently taking pre-orders for the new Pure Aero line, but I didn’t see a Pure Aero Tour. Will there be a new Pure Aero Tour?

The TW staff have said that there will be a new Pure Aero Tour version released early in 2019.

I would go with the Lite version. The XTP solution will add some weight so the Lite version gives you more "headroom" to play with weight wise and SW wise.
When you are extending a racket, isn't it better that racket is more head light ? such as Light version is evenly balanced racket where as Team is 4 points head light already. and difference in weight between 2 rackets isn't huge, 0.5 oz. thus extending a racket that is more head light will affect the maneuverability less. Am I wrong in this ?

You don't want an extended racquet to be too head light because it will affect the stability at ball impact.

You don't want to add too much extra weight to the hoop area of an extended length racquet because that will affect the manoeuvrability.

There is a bit of a "Goldilocks" zone and you just have to try and find it without adding too much extra weight all over the place.

To be honest with you, after reading several of your posts, I would advise you to consider using a racquet with a much larger hoopsize, perhaps 105sq inch and larger. I get the impression that would serve your needs a lot better than trying to find something in the mid size area.

This is one of those posts where you realise that Nostace is actually quite knowledgeable about tennis but pretends to be a dumb *** - either that or she/he occasionally gets her/his six year old to post. :p

technically, yes, simply because in order to match weight balance feel of same regular length racket, you MUST measure balance point of regular length racket from handle to balance point.

then, take that same measurement to longer racket. Now, from that point, all else forward must weigh the same. not same as from handle to there, i am meaning to compare from balance point to front bunper on both rackets, according to desired head lightness. please understand.

in essence, therefore technically, longer racket IS more headlight, if you took its measurement the normal way.

BUT since you are trying to duplicate feel of the shorter racket, this principle you must use.

It is common practice among pro and advanced.

Hope this helps you nostadmus. It would be very embarassing to see a beautiful talented player as you go clumsily along in a match due to equipment or wardrobe malfunction.

oh sorry i make joke here but yes, true.

So if you want a more head light racket would give you lower swingweight, it would be better to use the Aero Team racket instead of Aero lite ? Team is 4 points head light where as Aero lite is even balance. if you extend both of these by 0.5 inches, ending swingweight maybe very similar cause Aero lite is lighter racket. but Team will be more head light. So I am thinking Aero team would be more Manuverable at net. not sure if I am right on this ?

You are confusing SW with Racquet Balance.

SW is a function of several factors.

Adding any static weight to a racquet will increase its SW.

Adding an extended butt cap adds static weight and will increase SW. So adding extra weight to both a Team and a Lite will still mean the Team is heavier than the Lite.

In order to determine the SW of the racquets will require you to measure them both after the customisation.

Also, I think you are overthinking SW too much. Static weight and Racquet Balance specifications of the strung racquet are what you should be focusing on.

Oh, and in your case, the paint job is very important too. Yes?

i am glad that you are able to grasp principle i have presented to you, without further explaining. this shows me that you possess a high intelligence level.

your observation may be theoretically correct, but depending on specific data, it could possibly go either way, depending on desired end results.

possibly if you did it that way, are you able to compensate other data swing weight, overall weight, twistweight? much needs consideration.

if you go with lighter racket to start with, you have more "wiggle room" for other adjustments and so forth.

alas, i am not mathmetician or physics professor, so maybe i cannot help you with specifics, only principle.

but i am in fact a good musician, and i believe maybe, with enough "wiggle room", we can make some.... beautiful music together, eh?

haha please dont take the offence, i am passioned espanol!

but anyway, if all else fails, rely on intuition to choose racket. all answers to every question, are available to everyone, in the cosmos. tap into your intuition, and your selection, will be as devine as yourself.

So all in all, which one do you think will be more maneuverable after extending to 27.5 inches ? Team or Lite ? I know the twist weight also figures into this. Twist weight on these rackets are very similar below. but one has very high Vibration number. That makes me afraid, it might hurt my arm. Very weird since they are supposed to have same dampening system.

I was just wondering why the Pure Aero Team 2019 version has so much higher Vibration numbers from this TW test site ? 162 for Team version, 143 for pure Aero, and 148 for pure aero Lite. All 2019 models. I thought these rackets all had similar vibration dampening system ?

probably due to distribution of mass in the frame either internally, or thru difference in frame contour.

also, head light factor on such a light racket can contribute to this. i dont believe vibration number can be changed by extending racket.

therefore, i would lean more toward the one pure aero lite, and try to weight handle to bring desired head lightness.

otherwise, you may regret the injury that may occur.

on another idea, have you ever considered positioning your grip more to the end of the butt? many times you can see nadal with his baby finger beyond the end of buttcap.

if you therefore take the width of his finger possibly half inch, you realize the same effect as plus racket.

my suggestion try to do half hour practice gripping more tightly with second and third fingers, allowing baby finger to grip only against the underside of buttcap, to see if this suits you or to get an idea of X length racket.

you just may find that you dont need plus racket after all, just mod grip position.

thank you for your kind attention means a lot to me.

Thanks that's a brilliant idea about baby finger. I could experiment by doing that and simulate the extended racket. I will try that. but it won't simulate the extra weight in the handle by extended buttcap which should add weight to the handle as well as extending it. and I can't play with baby finger out, my racket will slip out and it will hit my opponent in the head.

but I will demo both lite and Team and experiment by using only 4 fingers on the grip and see which one might be better modifying with extended buttcap

glad to be of service to you.
also, you can try taping a coin to the buttcap to simulate more headlightness. start with a nickle maybe, if not enough then quarter or combinations of other coins.

you will get a pretty good idea of how the permanent setup will feel.

also, do not forget you can lessen headlightness by trimming bumper and/or
useing lighter gauge strings.

i have lightened pure aero by 4 grams trim off bumper border alone.

over 10 grams can be removed, by both trim and lighter strings. then to compensate, adjust a few pounds tighter if you normally use 16g. it wont be exactly same feel, but close simulation is possible.

sometimes takes a few days to find proper combination, be patient.

I have one that I used for only 5 weeks and is in good condition, I am going to sell as well but I am not charging that crazy price. Normal price I will charge. I will probably sell it local. I don't feel like posting it in fleebay, not sure if there is demand for it.
id buy it from you just to make me famous.
but i cant handle the plus.

anny takers?
Karma Tennis?

I already have five of them. Yes, five 2013 APDs!. I also have two 2011 models and a couple of 2011 APD Juniors. I got them when they were around $1,000,000 each.

They are all in secure storage. They will be worth a lot of money in a hundred years time when Rafa memorabilia will be in huge demand.

Not interested in any London Bridges. But certainly on the lookout for one in Madison County!

ha! youd have a better chance of nostradmus going out with you than having 5 /2013 apd.

Nope. I do actually have five 2013 AeroPro Drives. Three of them with 4 1/4 grip size and two with 4 1/2.

I also have several grommet kits for them and several spare Babolat SYN Grips.

Knew the racquet was going to be a classic when I bought the first one.

Most versatile racquet I have ever owned and I've owned plenty!

Will the new Pure aero plus 2019 Demos be strung with Poly or Multi strings ?

Hi Nostradamus,

As far as any playtests go, we usually do a hybrid of an RPM family string (RPM, RPM Team or RPM Rough) with either Excel or Origin. Demos will be strung by the dealer you demo from since we don't stock pre-strung versions of our premium racquets in the US.

Thank you. I think TW strings the demos with either all poly or all multi. Anyway, about 3-4 days ago, TW and other online sellers had Pure Aero plus with spec in their website but I noticed next day, it was all taken off the website. This was kind of strange. Did Babolat tell them to take it off the website til the date of release ?

Hi Nostradamus,

Yes, I believe they had the info up a little early. We ask that the info is not posted any earlier than a week before the launch date, so you should see it back up in a day or two I imagine.

Hi Dags,

This is the correct sku, and I am not aware of any update to the grommets, or any plans for an update.

-Josh
Thanks. I was hoping there may have been enough feedback by now to take action. The racquet is hugely popular with the juniors I string for, but the shallow channel means either replacing the grommets very frequently (far more than with other racquets), or strings breaking on the outside of the hoop from contact with the floor. The lack of bumper guard protecting the frame at 10 and 12 is also frustrating.

If there’s any change in the future, please do drop a note here.
