@Babolat Official - is there any news on new Babolat shoes coming soon? I like the new Jet III but wish Babolat would bring back the Propulse with the two straps…the Propulse 3 was such a fantastic shoe. So many shoes cause problems for so many people because of heel slippage or the forefoot being too roomy, etc - the straps solved all that & gave such a great customisable fit that really locked your foot in. Man, I miss those shoes!!!!

Is there a new Propulse coming out and will you ever bring back the straps? (I’m puzzled as to why you got rid of them in the first place).

Hi yellowball,

There are no plans to bring back more straps like on the Propulse 3 as far as I know, and there won't be any new styles for 2022, just new colors of the current models.

Will there be a Tour version of the Pure Strike VS also released like the previous gen had? Otherwise with these specs, I can see why it might be under-powered. Get the unstrung weight close to 11.5 ozs (325 grams) or 12 ozs strung (340 grams) and now you might have enough mass/stability to compare with other players racquets in this thin-beam, flexible category. Not everyone wants to fiddle around with leadtape.

Hi socal,

I hear what you're saying, but we'll have to wait and see. The trend seems to be to have one VS model to see how it's received before we expand into more offerings. It would make sense though, given the player profile who would use this frame.

Since we are talking about strike VS, quick question here. Sorry of this has already been covered.

Does anyone know if the grommets for the pure strike VS (2017), fit the old pure storm from the 2000s (98, black and Gold)?

Hi JoaoN,

As long as the Pure Storm in question is a 98, yes, the Pure Strike VS 2017 grommets will fit.

Thanks. I have been using 12 oz thin-beam Babolat frames for 21 years - Pure Control +, brief use of AeroPro Control +, AeroStorm Tour GT, Pure Strike Tour Gen 1, brief flirtation with Pure Strike VS Tour, Pure Strike Tour Gen 3. I am happy with my Pure Strike Tour, but am intrigued by the VS specs except for the static weight.

Please don’t forget customers like me who like Babolat frames that are heavy, thin-beam and somewhat flexible. I’m guessing that I would be the prime target demographic for this kind of racquet.

I understand people who don't want to fool with modifications, but ...

Achieving the *heavy* part is a solved problem, since weight customization is something I'd expect some stringers should offer if you live in a metropolitan or tennis-thick area.

Or ... maybe I'm an outlier because I actually like tuning frames & don't look at it as a chore [thinking_face].

Too many interesting racquets recently released or coming soon.

Really like the specs. May be a bit low powered for me though.

Same here. Like the 16X20 pattern better, beats the Fake 16X19 of PS anytime for me.

But not so much if its too under-powered.

IMO, an unstrung RA of 66-67 (strung 64-65) will be soft enough for most Pure Controllers, yet not too mushy for Pure Strikers.

Pure Storm Tour GT or the similar feel PS VS Tour were good examples.

(The old Tecnifibre TFight 320 16x20 also shared similar specs and feels)

It’s sounds very close to the current Vcore pro 310. Maybe a tad stiffer so potentially even more pop. String those low and you have great spin/power/control balance.

Would you have the information below about babolat prostock Pure control tour competition?

1) Which mold is it based on?
2) Does she have which layup?
3) It is based on some retail model (GT, team or other)

Yes it did in August.
Yeah. Oftentimes the racquet is released in the summer/fall of the prior year like that, but still considered a 2020 release. I'm hoping for early 2023 for the new pure strikes. We'll see. Josh will hopefully get some info by the middle of next year, like possible release and such. As far as I know, the current strike line has been super successful, so it will definitely be a big release. Great frames! Cheers!

Will it be a new version of Babolat Propulse Fury? Looking around and it is more or less sold out in all stores in my size. Had three pairs before but all of them are done.

Hi all,

I've not heard of it being as early as Easter myself, but you never know with the way things are at the moment. I heard second half of the year, but we'll have to wait and see I guess.

Josh

If it’s the second half of the year we will be lucky to see it by the USO given all the supply chain issues.

Bon Jour!
I have a Pure Strike VS Tour 16x20 which needs a new grommet, which I couldn't find.
I would like to know if grommet for Pure Control 16x20 will fit. Thank you.

Hello, @Babolat Official, I have a similar question: will the upcoming 2022 PS VS grommets fit PS VS Tour (string pattern spacing-wise), given they are both 16X20? (while understandable that the width may be different... but I guess it can be trimmed off to fit :)

Thanks in Advance

Yes. Even the first of that mold (the Swirly), which was listed as a 97 sq in, has the same grommets.

Hi Paul,

The new Pure Strike VS has a different stringing pattern (skip 7&9 instead of skip 8), so the parts will not be interchangeable unfortunately.

Tell the guys at Babs they ruined an iconic line(Pure Storm/Pure Control) cause they bet all their $$$$$$$$$ on a couple players.

Btw....where is Jo Willie at nowadays? Weren't he and Theim supposed to carry the line? And last I saw he(Jo Willie) used some sort of extended aero?

Epic fail. Bring back the Pure Storm and we'll forget all about this okay?

I'm kidding...I know you have a job to do and you work for them, but maybe....pass it along.....we want Pure Storm back:cool:

Thanks Josh,

Just curious: then is the spacing of the 8 center Mains of the 2022 PS VS denser (like the PS 16x19) than the PS VS Tour, or about the same?

Thanks again

Hi Paul,

I would say it's about the same honestly. It seems fairly uniform to me, not noticeably denser in the middle as I recall after stringing a few of them.
