Debate: Is tennis the best sport?

Asking this question on a tennis forum might not give you the most objective response. But yes. I personally think it is.

The greatest team sport is football. Hands down.

The greatest individual sport is boxing. Not kickboxing, thai boxing, mma etc. Boxing. The fine art.

After boxing, the greatest individual sport is tennis. The similarities between the sport are great, especially on the mental side of things. Jimmy Connors was right when he said that tennis is boxing at 40 feet.

To me personally - football, basketball and tennis are the Holy Trinity of sport.

The debate can go on forever, there are many different opinions on this.

what does that even mean ? yet some people's answers are presented as if they were an absolute and uncontestable truth...

Football and Tennis are the sports I follow the most. Hard to pick wich sport is the best, in the end it's an personal opinion, there is no final answer.

I was not posting as to the popularity of hockey. I was posting because of your claim "...that's why india loves cricket and doesn't even care for any other sport invented by westerners..."

This claim is not correct. Hockey may be a distant second or third to cricket but it is both a sport invented by foreigners and it is popular in India - far moreso than most other countries, even amongst those which do well at hockey.

that claim is absolutely correct.......nobody cares about hockey and it is NOT popular in india......period......
