Everyone: Thoughts on the Graphene XT Extreme Pro?
It's a good racket. Great even, if you compare it to similar rackets in its class (Pure Drive etc.). Offers very good control once you get used to it and provides more feel and touch than a Babolat. I serve better with Prestige-type frames and tend to play a bit sloppy and not as aggressive as I'd like with powerful rackets such as this, but otherwise it's really nice. Always worth a try!

Just strung up my modded storm gt team with ruffalo and it is so delicious! Don't think I'll ever be using tour bite in a full bed anymore. Next experiment will be to string up another storm gt team with rs Lyon crossed with discho iontec 17g for comparison. I imagine they should be very close. :)

It's great for me. Really don't have any complaints. I love the control of it, plus it doesn't seem to die. In an 18x20 it lasts a long time.

whatchu dont like about the GRads? i moved to a thinner beam, PAT would be going wrong direction for me.

Well, Radpro is good I am playing good with them, downsides would be stiffness which is really noticeable, here end there I have shoulder pain, but nothing seriously. I have played with APD and didn't had any stiffness problems. Control is much better with rad pro. I have tried Yonex ai 100 but we did not click together. And yes I have a Holic problem :) for now I have tried 90% of racquets on the market, didn't find any that I have fall in love except pt630 but my weight and condition are not nearly in shape for PT.

Also Yonex ai100 was more demanding for me to play with because of big head and head heavy feel than Yonex ai 98. So I am thinking that PAT would be the same as Yonex 100 only maybe even harder to whip around. I had to tail weight Yonex to get more spin and head speed.

Yeah, Iv had speed Mp graphene, it was hmm good but not special in any segment, also had speed pro G it was like Mp to me, ok more control and heavy feel. Yonex ai 98 was good racquet and was thinking on trying DR because ai was little on the soft side. I've got an offer for PAT but as the day are going on I think I will pass, problem is that I can't try it....ah, also last year model of speed pro I think XT was best from my p of view regarding speed models.

i prefer the XT Pro to the original G Pro as well. interested to try the touch, but i'm wondering if it'll be too muted/underpowered. i have to add a little lead to the MPs to make em come alive.

Well if I have to choose between speed Mp and Rad pro It would be pro because it has the weight, power and similar control, only it is stiffer. I have put the lead tape on the handle but result is less power, easier swinging and head speed. Ball is not so heavy like in stock form but it is easier to swing. Similar swing weight like Blade 98 18x20 but more power, less control and overall easier racquet to play with than blade for example.

I've been playing on some tournament level hard courts. Perfectly maintained with no cracks, and that modern sandpaper surface that slows the ball down a bit like at the USO and Sony Ericcson. Have you all ever played on these types of courts? It's really a pleasure.

I remember playing a match at Indian Wells. The surface was so slow and gritty that I gave up on hitting hard serves and hit only kickers. Heavy topspin took well to the courts that is for sure.

Yes and once I got used to the timing I found I had an extra half second on every ball. It extended rallies a little and made it easier to get in a rhythm.

That was my experience as well. It sort of is like playing on Har-Tru without the sliding. It is a great surface for long grinding points and improving fitness.

Ruffalo grew on me this weekend. I still prefer RS Lyon but I used the hybrid for a long time. It's not too much different, just a little more power and a little more stiff, which is to be expected. I think if someone gets RS Lyon and wants those 2 things, the TB mains will give them that. I really love the feel and control of RS and can't seem to get past that. But the Ruffalo is really close and really good.

graphene rad MP. the hollow one w the ugly orange graphics. SPE @ 53 lbs. do not like the feel, but this rac is very good for my game.

I've been telling people how good the Graphene Rad MP is for the last 2 years lol. I've tried many, many rackets over that time but I always go back to it. Maybe I'm just used to it, but I don't find it hollow feeling at all.

The paint is much nicer on the Ltd Edition version of that racquet if you can get your hands on one. I have two but with different specs of course. Agree they play well. I have seen some high level players doing serious damage with them.

it sorta does everything the speed MP does, but with more control due those 8 mains in the throat, and a little more stability. i havent added any lead to it. i really dont care for the feel, but i can get used to it if i keep winning matches. might see if i can find a spare on the 'bay ...

The PA VS is the best Babolat out there at the moment, in my opinion - dumps from on high upon the PS16.
Do tell more, please. The best babolat to date is still the pure storm gt for me. Trying to get the new strike dial in. Have never tried the aero storm or PA VS yet.

Thats the new Aeorostorm Tour right? Those are sweet frames. Probably one of the best Babs you can buy now. The sweetspot was a little small and the top of the frame was dead, but if you are a consistent sweet spot hitter it doesn't matter. String it low and go.

Even in stock form (the non-tour) VS feels meaty, probably because of the decent twistweight and box beam hoop. It's arm friendly and retains that old school direct feel for the ball on contact - not totally muted and disconnected like the new PS (how it felt for me). 16x20 string pattern gives it a nice combo of control and spin. I found the new PS string bed too unpredictable. VS is not PD powerful so people that want that will probably not be fans, but it's not a sponge either. I wish they made the throat boxy or square as well as I find the aero shape a bit odd in my hand.

Agree about your comparison to the Speed MP.

Try something besides SPE in the GRadMP for better feel.

I was wondering about that ... it has been my go-to string for so long. any suggestions on what has worked better for you? i tend to like polys with a little life in them ... cyclone is a little too dead for me, for example.

I've liked SPE in other frames but found it a little brassy in the Radical.

I'd suggest trying these (in this order):
Quadro Twist - comfy with good power and a bit muted which should help with the feel
Genesis Typhoon - crisp and powerful like SPE but less brassy
Cyclone Tour - comfy and tons of power (too much for me) so string it a little tighter
Hyper G - great feel but maybe not enough pop for you

That feeling when you find new old stock racquets in your racquetholic man-cave that you forget about or knew nothing about!
Ahh decisions.... might string one of these bad boys up and sell the other one or sell both lol...

Sounds like a stick I must try! I appreciate the easy power of the PD, but sometimes it's too much power. I play best with a leaded up PStorm GT. Still getting acquainted with the new PStrike. I do find the new strike more versatile but I am still more consistent with my modded storm. I'll try to get my hands on a PA VS. Thanks for sharing your feedback.

How is the PA VS working out for you?

It's actually a really nice racquet. The combination of "aero" throat and thin beam works surprisingly good, although it does need lead for heavy hitting. 16x20 pattern speaks to a Fischer/Yonex part of my tennis soul and is very precise. Serves bombs even in stock form, with some lead at 3/9 it should/could become a sniper gun.

Makes such a difference. When I play at the USO or comparable courts, you realize just how skiddy-fast (not to mention uneven and cracked) most old public park courts are. Slower and more even/honest bounces. Just a lot more enjoyable.

Very much so. I really love playing on them.

This TB/Lyon setup is continuously growing on me. Have to say, you guys may have something here.

I have been putting lead at the top of the hoop which makes those serve bombs go nuclear. I find the torsional stability good enough not to need lead at 3 and 9. But I can see how the extra weight there would help with plowing through those heavier balls.

I'm a bit obsessed with 3/9 stability so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I have lead at 3/9 even on my Tour G 330, so...
