Good compilation. Pls fill in 2006, too.

It would be nice if you could add whom he lost to, at least in the case of QF/SF and F.

But will Nole reaches 300 match wins when he's 34 is another question. I don't think he can catch Roger.

Roger won't be stopping at 300, the final number is going to be a lot higher. I don't Novak can even think about that at the moment.

It's not important he has like 20 match advantage age wise. Novak is extremely consistent. I think he can why can't he? he is already on 210 wins will Fed has 300, difference is 90 match wins. Novak can only catch up if Federer retires.

^ Some GOAT numbers there

Most slam titles
Most slam finals
Most consecutive slam finals
Most consecutive semi finals
Most consecutive quarter finals
Most consecutive slams appearances
Most slam match wins

Roger Federer = Mr Grand Slam

What does our Nole need to do to have the MR grand slam crown?

Yeah, Roger's will add more, and I think Nole will surpass Connors who is currently has the 2nd highest wins at 232.

Well he will at some point. More like when than if.
Well I am not sure who has the advantage, really Federer has been so consistent at the slams 38 semis, 46 quarters. His been playing for so long thats why he has the most match wins, Novak on the other hand is just as consistent and age wise leads Fed by 20 matches. Look at it this way, Novak needs to repeat what Fed did this last 6 years and then he will be ahead.

It's easy to accumulates a lot wins when you're at your prime, but the win rate drop when you're in your 30s.

It won't be easy, Roger has worked his entire career to be crowned Mr Grand Slam. The numbers are just crazy in all areas - The winning, the consistency, the longevity. Nole needs to keep the winning consistency and longevity up. His main goal will be to go for the slam record, that's the big one. If he can hold all four slams, that can help also. But honestly, he has got to get Fed like numbers, it is a HUGE ask for the heavyweight champion.

Oh no, you are correct, i was simply fixated on how you worded that. Silly really.

I know the win rate will drop, however he it needs to drop lower than Fed. Novak will consistently win 20+ matches at the majors for a couple of years and into his 30s. Don't forget from this stage on Novak needs 2 win more slams to tie outdo Fed age wise not overall age but in last 6 years Fed won only 2 slams, if Novak wins AO next he needs 1 more to match Fed.

But if anyone go do it, then its the heavyweight champ of the world. Novak has already outdone Federer, in overall match wins, quarter finals, Semi Finals, he is obviously behind in the slams, but a 3 or 4 this year can reduce the gap significantly.

The fact that he is the only one who has a chance to do it just shows how good he is, because Roger has rightfully earned the right to called Mr Grand Slam with the way things currently stand. But the heavyweight champ of the world does have time on his side to turn the tide, and as you rightfully pointed out, the next few years will pen the final chapter on the Fedovic saga.

When you poasted this list, was it only match wins, or all matches you were counting.

On what date did you have 300 ?

I just want to check with my data.

Look out Lara, Federer is chasing your 400 not out.

100 more is impossible. That is like winning 3 'more' CYGS equivalent slams(meaning 3 CYGS + AO in fourth year) and also FO, WO in the 4th year and reaching USO 3rd round.

Or if he loses earlier, then he has to retire by 2025.

Federer achieved his 300th Grand Slam match win v Dimitrov at the 2016 AO 3rd round. That was when the thrread was created.

So far, RF and Dojokovic have more or less the same winning percentage (0.86 against 0.861 for Djoko) ... at the rate Djoko is going actually, he's not catching up...85 wins... 4 years of reaching all the semi finals will not be enough, and I'm quite sure he will retire younger than Fed, since he already fills tired by tennis.

Excellent list, thanks OP!!

I do believe that Bautista-Agut has to count as two people. OTOH, wins vs. Berdych shouldn't really count so it's probably a wash anyway.
