We can say that nadal leads the h2h 20-10,

on clay rafa destroys fed 13-2 (oof),

in majors nadal wastes the fedster 8-2..thats a feather for nadal.

but on grass..its 2-1 to Federer,

on indoor HC (all World tour finals) Federer owns nadal 4-0 (ooh), a feather for Federer.

and Federer served up some tasty bakery products to nadal (doughnuts/bagels) on HC, grass, and clay...6-0 set drubbings on all surfaces (eek)..

some actual and interesting facts which are fair to both players,

They've met 30 times and 15 times have been on clay. If Federer won all off-clay matches (HC and grass) plus the two clay matches he managed to win - he should be ahead in their H2H by 17/13.

I'm very very certain that I said that off clay meetings were close between the two as in not one sided, at no point did I ever suggest that Federer dominated Nadal off clay......

Just like Sampras and Agassi overtook Edberg & etc. Nadal has risen while Fed has gotten older. It's the natural cycle of things. I'm just amazed how consistent and great Federer still is.

Unfortunately all the slam courts play similarly now. No room for specialists.

as I mentioned, Connors was a very bad match up for Borg for some years, so were Lendl to Mac or Rosewall to Rocket " Three slams" Laver...well, what separates Borg,Mac or Laver stature as men, players and finally champions from Roger is that they found the way to switch things round and become the matchup for their former owner.

That is why all of them are higher than federer on the all time greats list...not considering also that federer has taken advantgae of playing such a weak, crappy era before Nadal made real progress even out of his beloved clay.

It's a very interesting matchup for sure. I mean at this point you have to give Nadal the edge to win more of the upcoming matches due to age and being dominant once again after coming back from injury. By the way Federer has been playing as of lately, I don't see why Nadal can't add some more wins on this h2h. Federer is hitting his decline kind of like how Pete Sampras's game significantly got worse post 2000.

Sampras loss to an 18 year old roddick at the Miami tournament in 2001. Federer beat Sampras at Wimbledon (phenomenal match by both players but it did show Sampras's game has declined).
