Federer: Novak never won in Paris

Federer was asked if he ever doubted a Rafa comeback, and the Swiss former world number one had a clear-cut response.

“Zero; absolutely not,” Federer said. “Maybe you journalists were upset, but we players of course were not. A guy who won nine times in Paris, nine times in Monte Carlo, who was world number one for much time does not lose his qualities. Maybe we have come to expect to him to recover faster from injuries, but I cannot imagine Nadal at such a low level. To me, he is always there at the top. And on clay, he is still one of the first two or three players in the world,” Federer said.

“[The] King of clay is Rafa,” Federer said. “He is the tennis player to beat. Novak’s never won in Paris. Maybe now he’s the favorite, but Nadal is Nadal. I am happy of what he showed to those, who did not believe that he could win in Monte Carlo.”

It's pretty dooch of him to point out about Novaks RGs. There was no reason to bring it out.
Also of importance, he thinks Nadals recent struggles are due to injuries. That might also be indirectly jabbing Novaks dominance.

I don't think it was a direct jab to Djokovic, but I do think it would be fair to believe that Roger respects Rafa a lot more than he respects Djokovic. He shared many special moments in his career with Rafa, when Roger says he believes Rafa is a better player than him, I think he actually believes it to a certain extent. I don't think he ever believed Djokovic was/is a better player than he is.

Jesus Christ! The victim complex of SOME Djokovic fans. LOL. Your guy is the best player in the world. He is the overwhelming favourite in every tournament he enters. What is it that you people want? Lol. Is Federer not allowed to express his opinion because it's not in praise of Djokovic? There's nothing more pathetic than a person craving validation. It's just so insecure. True story.

Why don't you start enjoying the fact that your guy is the best player in the world, playing awesome tennis, and breaking and setting all kinds of records. Stop whining about how he doesn't get the respect you think he deserves. Did you really think Djokovic becoming world number one and dominating tennis would make him more popular than Federer and Nadal? If that was the case Sampras would have been more popular than Agassi. Lendl would have been more popular than McEnroe and Connors. Just enjoy the dominance of your guy while it last, will you? Stop being so pathetic.

What is it that makes some of you lots being quick and mindlessly generalizing everything. Couldn't you just address and refer to the poster in question instead of resorting to this childish mentality where everything has to be grouped.

Should I also group everyone who happen to be fans of the same player as you do, similarly to you and draw my conclusion about an entire fanbase based on 1 poster who would be you in this case

Sadly, you fail to see the take away, which was the Dissing Fed for his opionion that did not genuflect to Novak.

And that kind of comment is typical Novak doesnt get the respect he deserves, blah, blah, blah.

Keep up with the jabs at Novak Roger, makes it even sweeter when he beats you in all the big finals. Three peat at the slam finals and endless masters 1000 finals and the world tour finals, keep talking smack..just makes Novak more happier to pound those powerderpuff groundstrokes of yours.

You know that Roger's groundstrokes score a higher average mph than Novak's, right?

Do whatever the hell you like. See, unlike SOME of you Djokovic I don't do self-pity, much as you're doing with the post quoted above. But if it'll make you feel better, I'll amend my post.

Federer attacks both Djokovic and Nadal accusing them of doping! A outrage!:mad::mad: I must misinterpret his quotes and build a strawman that would put the Wicker Man to shame to justify my anger for Federer :mad::mad:

The real insults here are clearly leveled against Nadal. Let's analyse what he's saying, shall we?

“Maybe you journalists were upset, but we players of course were not." — Yeah, Fed wasn't upset by Rafa's travails and troubles, he found it wonderful.

"A guy who won nine times in Paris, nine times in Monte Carlo, who was world number one for much time does not lose his qualities." — He's saying Nadal never declined at all, the field simply left him behind.

"Maybe we have come to expect to him to recover faster from injuries" — What it says. Rafa ought to recover faster and not be such a whiny little boy.

"I cannot imagine Nadal at such a low level" — Self-explanatory: he's saying 'embarrassing stuff Rafa, get your act together'.

“He is the tennis player to beat." — yes, you would love for players to beat him, wouldn't you, Freddie?

"Novak’s never won in Paris. Maybe now he’s the favorite" — yeah, even a guy who's never won the tourney before can be the favorite over this past-it old champ. That's saying something, huh?

Unbelievable arrogance from Fred indeed.

This belongs in a political spin room.

Has Djokovic won the FO or not? Federer is pointing out the obvious but he is also saying Djokovic is the favorite to with the FO. There's no issue.

Feds entitled to say whatever he wants and it wasn't that bad.

However, surely it's not a victim complex to say he doesn't like or respect Novak that much? I think that's pretty evident. No love lost between the two.

Thanks for explaining the true meanings. Priceless for a naive man like I am.
Is he now toying with journalists? Aroogante he is.

How much? Should he call Djokovic the secondcoming of Jesus for you to be satisfied with how much he respects Djokovic?

At all. That better for you? I purposefully try to make my (rather obvious) observation as benign sounding possible, but that appears too heavy criticism for the fanatics.

You're wrong. Read this:
He was asked how he felt Djokovic was playing right now and how many majors he might win. Here is Federer’s response:

“I think he's playing very well,” Federer said. “Are you kidding me? I think he's doing really well. He's having a wonderful season, like in 2011. He's just really consistent. Seems like there are not many guys that can hang with him, don't have the tools or dare to go forward, or they aren't daring to serve and volley against him because he's so good on the return. Which he is. He's perfected his game on the hard courts, no doubt about it.”

Federer, who showed some brilliant tennis himself on Sunday despite the 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 loss, says that Djokovic has many more Grand Slam titles in him. “To say the least, it's very impressive,” he said. “He's having unbelievable career. You know, I think everybody knows that he knows that, as well. Tonight is another example of that. Clearly he can win many of them. He already has a ton, so obviously he's got to stay healthy and all that stuff and hungry, but obviously you would think he will win more after tonight.”
Now, hopefully, you can quit whining.

Federer and Djokovic don't like eachother. It's blatantly obvious. They are both great players and have obviously acknowledged as such so you can find as many quotes as you like. There is strong evidence that the 2 aren't pals and seem to have an adversarial relationship more than any of the other top players. I've been very fair and even handed and am saying it goes both ways. Not sure what you want me to say?

Calm down.

Let me ask you a question which I'd like you to answer plainly: Has Djokovic won the French Open?

I didn't say he did, nor did I say Federer saying he hasn't is a problem. You're playing a semantics game.

After pointing out Rafa won the FO 8 more times than he, and Monte Carlo 9 more times than he:

"And on clay, he is still one of the first two or three players in the world,” Federer said.

So, I guess YOU and another "icon" to be named later are better than Rafa on clay, Panda man...?

If you had read what he said, you'd realize that he noted that Djokovic is, at this point, better on clay than Nadal is. But why read, eh?

Has Djokovic won the French Open? 'Yes' or 'no'?

No. And? I never said that he had.

You're attempting to control the frame of the argument and make me look like I'm avoiding answering a simple question, when that's not even the issue.

It comes across like you don't have many arguments, just cheap techniques.

Yes, someone who gets offended about somebody stating a fact (Djokovic hasn't won the French Open) would definitely qualify as a fanboy. I'd quit whining if I were you.

I actually said it's clear that they don't like each other after saying Federer can say what he wants. That apparently was too much for you to handle (i.e fanboy) so you made up stuff about me being upset that Federer "stated a fact." You are committing several logical fallacies with each post.
