Tsonga played lights out tennis and absolutely crushed Fed in the third. Interesting to see how far he goes this tourny, but now the entire championship is Djok's to lose now that his side of the draw is now open.

No shi t sherlock
Jokc wasn't invited. He can't fish. The real comp is at the lake now - who gets more fish. It's on Nadal's rod, since he has maximum experience.I guess Murray, Nadal, and Federer all planned a fishing trip together ahead of time.
I am not sure if Djokovic got the memo.
It was always Djokovic's tournament to lose, especialy once Nadal and Murray lost. Tonight plays no part in that.
And what exactly have both done against Djokovic this year to be a bigger threat than Federer? Other than lose that is?
LOL at this thread.
The tournament was ALWAYS Djokovic's to lose.
The guy has lost one match in 55 odd matches since late last year. This is a UNIQUE record in tennis. In fact, it is a UNIQUE record in ALL sports.
Anyone who thinks Djokovic was NOT the massive overwhelming favorite for this tournament, needs to go and get his/her head checked..
Didn't you see the poll in the Montreal thread? Federer is the favorite.

Tsonga beating Fed back to back, hmm. I thought Fed would lose but the 3rd set margin is just, yikes.
I don't see Fed winning a slam again, ever.
I'm a fan.
If Fed doesn't win the USO this year, his GS title drought will stretch to two years (last was AO 2010). It's looking highly unlikely he'll reach 17, IMO.
You never know Dud, you never know.
I guess the question is, will Nadal get to 17 slams....?

NEWSFLASH: For every tournament, the rest of the ATP is playing for 2nd place..

No, he's right. This is really stating the obvious.

Who is the only player that beat Novak this year?
Case closed.
You fail, and suck.
And what is their head to head this year? Who has won 50 matches this year? Who is number 1 in the world? Who has won 8 titles? Who is The King? Who is the Child of God? Who is the SON of God? Who will finish his career with 666 weeks at number 1? Who will finish his career with 23 Majors?
Hail Noel!
Wow, I had no idea he was the Antichrist.
What's he's doing right now is unparalleled in the history of the game.
sorry im late, i forgot to hitch a ride on the bandwagon on the way here
seriously, djokovic will lose at some point, and the fans will cry out "how?!?"
but dont worry, i already have an answer! its because the man is currently going through the best tennis of his life, and he a pretty good setup for it. Federer is 30 and downward to retirement, Nadal is out of his prime (still a really good player, but out of his prime nonetheless), Murray is.....Murray, and the rest of the players are either too old to beat him or are too young to have reached the point yet. Djokovic reached a nice sweet spot that, in my opinion, inflates his talent. Now let me tell you what's going to happen. Younger players are going to get older mature a lot, and one if not many will consistantly take out Djokovic, a different player will take #1 and he will never get it again. My prediction? this will happen in 1-2 years from now. Djokovic will get 3 slams, and will be placed on the tiers of talent, but not GOAT level, players

Nole Vs. Tsonga should be an interesting match-up. While everyone has been bashing Federer's lackluster performance, enough credit isn't being given to Tsonga. He outplayed Federer during that match and handled Almagro pretty well today. I still think Nole will win the match but who knows? I think he'll be tested again.

Nadal is just 25 and he is out of his prime. haha. that itself is ridiculous let along everything else that you have written. Djokovic just peaked this year and he is making everyone pay.end of story.
Rafa is an old 25-year-old. He said earlier this year that he felt like he had been playing on the tour for "100 years".
