Federer will BEAT Nadal in the Semi Final of Wimbledon 2019

I hope they do not close the roof as that would make it straight sets Fed.
With roof open, Rafa has to endure Fed for the 1st set. If Rafa wins the 1st, Fed will collapse. If Rafa loses the 1st set it will be tough. Basically winner of 1st set with roof open takes it.

I think Nadal is the favourite! However, fed will have his chances if he serves well and gets his BH working well! I take Nadal in 5 sets! I think he will outlast fed!

Oh, as if all Djokovic fans always give credit to his opponents. Some of them believe Djokovic was tired at USO 2010, USO 2013, RG 2015 when he basically played one 5 set match (and none of these 5 set matches was really physically tough) at each of these tournaments. And that's the same fans who call him the fittest player on tour. If these are not excuses then I don't know what is.

You should feel sorry for Djokovic fans. You have had the luxury of supporting someone who cannot be beaten for a long time now. They, on the other hand, know that their favorite is a mediocre also-ran in comparison to yours, and so it's understandable that they search for consolation in pathetic excuses.

[For the record, I do know that you are actually a rather pessimistic Nadal fan].

As it always is whenever Federer's "legacy is on the line" in another one of these over hyped matches.

Of course, and those same folks turn into biggest whiners about being "oppressed" by Fed fans on the forum the second the shoe's on the other foot. Bunch of hypocrites.

Who knew that entirety of Fed's 21 years long career rests on one match he's playing on slow grass, 1-2 years before retirement.

He is the moral heavyweight champion for probably being the big resistance to the heavyweight champion's quest to defend the honor of Wimbledon by winning it for a fifth time.
What are current odds on an RBA Wimbledon victory? Lowest for any semifinalist in history?

I am the only one who sees Fed as slight favourite? I think as hard to call as AO 2017. Biggest day in the GOAT race to date though if Rafa takes on Novak come sunday, that's for sure.

Indeed the next 3 days to come are going to decide the history of tennis

You are about to witness greatness.
What greatness, they are paid millions to be safe and hit a fuzzy yellow ball. Greatness is risking your life for humanity. Let's not delude ourselves here in the end they are doing it for themselves and making millions, that is not bravery and they are being safe.

Nadal didn't have it easy even at RG. If Federer ever had a chance to avenge his 2008 loss, this is it. Still by no means the favorite against Nadal.

Come on lol, 4 sets Nads all the way.

I'd like to see Fraud win in straight sets, but we all know that's not gonna happen.

Haha you're wrong, take that! I bet you're so bitter that your prediction didn't come true. /s

No, I didn't expect it either.

lol, not bitter at all. As a huge fan of the Fraud, I am pretty pleased tbh. A loss against Nadal here would have been terrible.

I was mistaken and Federer upped his level (who would have thought that after the Nishikori match?).

I still think Djokovic takes it in 4, worst case scenario for Djoke is winning in 5.

I thought Fed's level looked quite great versus Nishikori.

I thought the /s would tip you off that I was Djoking. Shockingly good performance from Federer. Took the racquet out of Nadal's hand.

I know you were joking ;)

I just replied because I am pretty enthusiastic about Fred winning against Nads at Wimbledon after losing in 2008. Freddy had to wait for a LONG time.

Really? Dude lost a set against Nishikori lol. Perhaps I am just too negative.

I watched the match and Nishikori played quite well, was painting the lines in the set he won. For once the Sushiman was fit in a slam quarter and managed to look like a top 10 player.

Ah ok, then I was wrong. Credit where credit is due I suppose. Just hope Fed can sustain or even up his level on Sunday against Djokovic compared to today's SF performance. Fed needs it.

Fed played terrific today, no doubt. I think he might need to play better to win against Djokovic.

A 0-3 in Wimbledon finals would be ugly. If he wins, he'll be at 2-2 in terms of H2H at Wimbledon. That's acceptable given that all 4 matches were played when Djokovic was either peak or much closer to his peak than Fed who was in his 30s in all 4 matches.

Pure nonsense.

Fed won't do anything to Nadal on the slow-medium HC surface which pretends to be "grass".

When's the match?

Djokovic and Federer played better returners and he played two and a half servebots. I wouldn't put too much into ace numbers. It matters who serves better on the day.

This! As a Roger Federer fan, I was nervous about the match as I know very well that Rafa can beat Roger here. But I was not worried about the ace count of Rafa. Acing Nick Kyrgios and Sam Querry is a different thing Roger at the end of the day, even if he is not as good as Novak Djokovic, is certainly better than those players in returning serves. Also if Sam and Nick could break Rafa, Roger certainly can break Rafa. As it turned out, which I expected, Roger had more aces than Rafa in the match. I thought if Roger were to lose, it would be Rafa destroying Roger from the baseline exposing Roger's movement and certainly not by serving better than Roger.
