Look, he's a great kid, with uncommon talent, drive, maturity and work ethic. But he's also a 19-year old millionaire who's instantly been elevated to God-like status by an entire nation. No one is immune to all of life's flatteries. And despite his humble nature and dolomitic background, he IS a Gen Z... the most important question will always be "Is the wifi turned on?"

a little swagger is necessary. You have to believe in yourself and your abilities to be successful in life. He is putting in the work to achieve great things on court, and has a good future ahead of him. There are a few things he needs to work on but it looks like he realises his weaknesses. Hopefully he doesn’t fizzle out like so many of the potential successors of the big 3 have done over the past 10 or 15 years. Historically almost all of the top players throughout the years have had some swagger, frequently heading into arrogance territory. I don’t have a real problem with it as long as it translates to watchable tennis. Overall, I really like Sinner and I like that he believes in himself.

To me it seems he checks as usual the state of his phone to avoid any disturbance during the presser, as we can see in the conferences before. Plus he is a bit of a miser* when it comes to his personal things while willing to donate to others early in is career. But the Wifi question is absolutely the first or second thing I hear from Gen Z visiting a place, reminds me of his youth

*No car for quite some time, nothing flashy and reinvests into tennis education

Great post, I agree his level of tennis is comparable to most of the top guys. It's his mentality which has disappointed, especially in trying to serve out the first set against Rafa at RG. He collapsed mentally then and this isn't a good sign for a (possible) future great player. He was outplaying Nadal in that match and he just choked and then faded badly in the third, 1-6. Did I expect him to beat Rafa there? No, but he should have won the first and remained competitive. I'll be interested to see in 2021 how he steps up against the big three.

Sinner will definitely bulk up and get stronger and fitter. Up until 2019, Zverev had stick legs and now his quads and calf muscles are quite defined. Give Sinner some time.

Agreed. He's still growing. I like his mechanics and movement. Most of these youngsters just need endurance.

Maybe, maybe not. Each person’s genetics dictate whether you get tree trunks or Dixon Ticonderoga #2s. You can make them a little bigger but Sinner will never resemble Berdych from the waist down. Those tree trunks would only slow Sinner down.

The point about Sinner is he already has very strong legs from his years on the ski slopes. How much he swells from diet and/or exercise won’t have much bearing on winning slams.
