U know what, that's a good guestion. I posted in it before I left to ask him if he was playing in the tournament. I left town and when I came back to check for his response, poof, no more thread.

^^^yeah, I was posting, and he was responding to some of the questions I had. The next day>>>> POOF>>> the thread vanished. I wonder what happened.

It's a conspiracy that goes all the way up past the moderators.

You see, Keil answered too much and his legal counsel advised against it, and so did his ego. His conscience agreed, too, so it was unanimous on Planet Keil. So Keil called the TW staff and had it zapped in exchange for a handful of autographed Journeymen DVDs with the old packaging.

Pretty standard shtuff.

EDIT: KIdding. Just givin' you some hell, Markie. Well-deserved, and I know you know that, man.

BTW:
Haha, who should we thank for that? You guys who misbehave? Or should we blame someone else? Like the mods? It's gone for a good reason, I'll tell ya that.

Edberg505 is that you on that vid? Whats your rating? I ask bcause im from Guatemala... dont really get those ratings yet, just trying to have a parameter on which to compare myself, I think I'm a 4.5 or 5...............

Yes that's me. Well, since I played college tennis for a Division 1 school the USTA says I should be a 5.0. But I haven't been playing much at all since I left college. So I would say I'm an out of form 5.0.

people just rate them lower to make themselves feel better

No, because it's hard to tell from the videos of how good these guys really are. The angle and shakiness, along with the fps made it hard to tell. Now if you put it at court side, it's MUCH easier to tell.

There u go. Im sure Mark Keil was 7.0 at some point, and might have lowered a bit now at his 40's. The other guy is rated 5.5, maybe 6, but not touring pro material.
Guys ranked 400-300 play at a whole different level than the 5.5 guy

My guess seeing him would've been 5.5 tops actually (I know, I know... I read the other posts....)

Woah, I thought this was like 2-3 standard tennis, but you guys are giving it about 5 on average.

Makes me about a 5 as well :p

Well, here's another one of those threads. Guess the rating of these guys.
5.5 at least? They look pretty good to me. The chubby guy serve and volleying looks like he might have been a lot better at one point. Anyway, both guys more or less understand their own games and limitations, seem like tournament play seasoned guys.

"The chubby guy" is, ironically enough, the lowest-ranked player to ever beat Sampras when he was in the top 10. I guess you could say he was a lot better at one point. If you love tennis and have a good sense of humor, go check out a documentary called "The Journeymen." You won't be disappointed

Also, don't forget tennis is one of the few sports where a guy can give you the match on a platter without you doing much of anything past putting a couple of serves in the box. That guy must have been a lot better then, but I have to guess this was one of Pete's worst days at the court. Thanks for the rec on "the Journeymen".

You have a good eye. It's amazing how this video doesn't do these guys any justice. They look waaaay better in person. I have hit around with Stotland (the thinner/younger one) and he is phenomenal. When I first saw this video, I thought "O maybe 4.5". But these guys are playing really fast and closing the net. The angle really makes the game look slower than it is.

I can't believe Mark Keil beat Sampras in his prime - wow, what stories for the grandkids!
