Does Franko Skugor use a Prestige Mid?
After reading this thread, I have to post some of my original Prestiges.. greatest Head frames ever made. Happy 30th.
Some samples of the versions I have, my personal favourite is the 2nd gen brown/burgundy red Prestige Pro.
You can tell I quite like the neon green
Another one, I love the neon green CAPS!
My favourite original cover- the red interior looks amazing with a 2nd gen Prestige Pro in it
From top to bottom- USA Prestige Pro, 3rd gen Prestige Pro 600, 2nd gen Prestige Pro
The originals- Prestige Pro, Elite Pro, Elektra Pro
The half-CAPS of the twin sisters oozes sexiness
Top to bottom- Classic Mid, Prestige 600, Prestige Classic 600
The USA models- TX Professional & Prestige Pro

They are the same layup under the paint. Is the Prestige Pro a better playing stick than the Prestige Classic (and variations thereof)?
They are the same layup under the paint.
Yes that is a vintage Fairway Excalibur, I remember putting it on years ago! Remember it was kinda expensive too.MarratSafin, thanks, great pics of some of my favourite racquets
i seem to recognize a black fairway grip on one of the prestiges with the green grommets.
does it really say excalibur on the grip? is it a vintage fairway or recent?
And thank you for this thread and the many nice images too!Wow, thank you! What a beautiful collection of original Prestige! Just fantastic looking racquets.
Yes I play with all the strung ones rotating them, I have some more 2nd/3rd gen Prestige Pros that I use on a regular basis, that would be my favourite among all. The new/pristine ones I just keep and admire, had to make a trip back to the hometown to take these photos.Awesome collection. Do you play the strung models ? 2nd gen just says 'vibration-control-system' on side. 3rd gen has 'Prestige Pro 600' printed on side and the vibration graphics. Also 2nd gen is around 345g unstrung like the original, but 3rd gen has variations. I even have one at 315g unstrung, could be a pro stock.any visible difference to 2nd and 3rd generation prestige pros?
I'm still on hunt for green CAP and elektra pro
Wow 315 it's really light!2nd gen just says 'vibration-control-system' on side. 3rd gen has 'Prestige Pro 600' printed on side and the vibration graphics. Also 2nd gen is around 345g unstrung like the original, but 3rd gen has variations. I even have one at 315g unstrung, could be a pro stock.

The original brown came in L and LM. Also back in the 80's the heavier racquets were the larger grip sizes.Wow 315 it's really light!
Anyway, I think that in that years Head made the same racket (in the same grip size) in different weights, using L as "light" and "LM" as light medium (I saw some pics a while ago about a Pretige Pro with grip size sticker saying "LM ecc"), but I'm not sure that's the case...
@MarrratSafin
1st gen is the overall dark brown one with "twaron performance" marked on the side?
Also any difference in the original/1st generation compared to later ones in playability?
My brown Prestige Pro doesn't have any writing on it except Vibration Control System.Yes, I have also seen 3 variations of the dark brown original Prestige Pro, one with the vibration graphics printed on side and the other like mine with a sticker instead, and the very first I believe that just says Twaron Performance. I cannot tell much difference if comparing 2 models of the same weight up to the earliest Classic 600. As vsbabolat advised, they have the same materials and layup.
From then on some of the later Classic 600's feel slightly different. Note the TK52 brown CAPS on the later Classic 600's are 4 grams lighter than the original non-coded brown CAPS and TK10 neon green CAPS. Tour 600 is different too, with the suspension grip giving a more muted feel, more headlight, and more flexy.

No, but I don't think mine had the sticker either. When I got it, it was in pristine condition. I also have 3 Elite Pro since new and they only say Vibration Control system with written underneath besonders armschonedAre you the original owner? Just thinking could it be one with the sticker but already wore off. Mine is starting to fall off, worrying!
Marat Safin with the Classic Prestige
Agree, I also noticed the add for Senequier which is a French S/W company located in South France known for the beautiful expensive dirt clubs, like Monte Carlo and Saint Tropez but this pic is on Grass, probably UK ? Probably seniors event ?Everything about this photo is confusing. Prestige Classic in Graphene paint job. NOS Barricades from what year?? 2009? Marat Safin playing tennis instead of being a Russian Parliamentarian?
It was in Saint Tropez.Agree, I also noticed the add for Senequier which is a French S/W company located in South France known for the beautiful expensive dirt clubs, like Monte Carlo and Saint Tropez but this pic is on Grass, probably UK ? Probably seniors event ?
Marat Safin with the Classic Prestige
To bad you missed the other photos of Marat in this thread with his Classic Prestige in Graphene paint jobok, I'm not suggesting you are wrong or anything - but there's no way you can tell from that picture what exact racket model it is......
To bad you missed the other photos of Marat in this thread with his Classic Prestige in Graphene paint job
You're right though. Most likely is an Extreme
The molds are different my man! Pro tour 280 different mold, Graphene Prestige is no mid, i.Prestige different mold. Do you want me to read the whole thread for you too?I'm not sure if you are trying to be sarcastic so I'm going to give you benefit of a doubt and assume that you are not.
That being said - could you kindly point me to "the other photos of Marat in this thread with his Classic Prestige in Graphene paint job"? Because indeed I've missed those. Perhaps it is because other than the photo in post #383 there's only a single one such photo in this thread, not multiple ones.
And despite trying to ridicule me you still have not addressed the question on how you can tell from those pictures that it is indeed a Classic Prestige in some paint job. How can you tell if it is not an i.prestige, or Pro Tour 280, or Microgel Prestige, or even indeed a normal Graphene Prestige? Maybe it is a Classic Prestige indeed - all I'm saying is that there's no way to tell from those pictures because those pictures are not detailed enough.
No, you don't need to read the entire thread for me. What you could do however is NOT to edit your post and include additional images, especially after I have already quoted and questioned your original post. The molds are different my man! I edited my post before you you answered me. You're just showing how little you know about these racquets. First off the Prestige Tour has the suspension grip and that has not been around since 1999. Its pretty distinctive on the racquet. Do you even know the difference between a Prestige Classic and Prestige Tour? Second the photo you showed is a PRESTIGE CLASSIC with Flexpoint paint job. It has painted on Flexpoints! Third its not a IG Prestige Mid because the yoke is longer above the grip on Marat's racquets than the IG Prestige Mid. Thanks for playing! No, you don't need to read the entire thread for me. So your opinion is based on the detail of the throat of the racket. OK, fair enough but - are you sure it is not Head Prestige Tour (in a graphene PJ)? like this one:
Or Head Prestige Flexpoint (in a graphene PJ)? like this one:
or perhaps Youtek IG Mid (in graphene PJ) like this one:
Wow, very cool! Looks like you have one of Leconte's racquets!
