Head G360+ Radical Pro 2021

The blade pro has way more plow and spin with swing weight 340-350 range, but for me the control, placement, and all round court game the radical pro is more versatile!
Yeah that built-in heft puts BP way apart from most (all?) current retail sticks. Even though you can easily get Rad Pro to that territory with 4-5g of lead tape, it's not what wide public will be going for.

Wonder how it compares to Blade Pro 16x19 8-B
Blade Pro more plush and punishes the ball giving a heavier ball, same on serve. The BP has a high SW, quite a bit higher then Rad Pro and demands more smoothness but a Wonderfull frame. Rad Pro plays a bit more crisp comparatively, sweet spot a little more defined and a scalpel. Respectable power and excellent control but that orange is hideous :X3: very good frame

Did anyone else notice that the handle/pallets are longer on the 360+ Radical Pro when compared to other 360+ frames?
(Similar to what Wilson did to the v7 Blades)

Yes, I know so aware the old won’t fit but wondering if anyone has any news for this one since it’s kinda of a Radical tradition of sorts ;)
Would be nice for sure. Maybe someone can make an older one fit... it will up the SW too that way those wanting a bigger beast

For those who have tried the G360+ MP and Pro, how much of a difference is there? How much maneuverability do you lose? I like heavier racquets but only when they are headlight enough to maintain maneuverable characteristics. For reference:

Racquets that I liked in the 315g+ range: Phantom 93P, Phantom Pro 100 (18x20), Volkl VSense-10 325g, Prince Ignite 95, Pro Staff 97

Heavier Racquets that I struggled with: EZONE 98 Tour, RF97, Volkl VSense-10 Tour

Where would the G360+ Rad Pro fall?

I sent back my MP demo on Thursday, and I ordered the Pro demo a few days ago. Hopefully I'll receive it some time this coming week. I'll report back when I hit with it. I currently use the IG Prestige Pro and I am wondering whether I should play with a lighter frame. Initially I wasn't going to order the Pro demo, but then I decided that it would be interesting to see how much racquet head speed I lose when I play with a heavier, but otherwise similar, racquet.

Fun chat about the Radicals and the history of the frames...
TW Staff

Thanks Michelle,

Interesting that they made reference to the forums a few times, does that mean we're a popular place for Market Research? ;)

Although I'm glad that the Head staff fully recognise that each racket generation isn't necessarily "better" than the previous one, but they're aiming for something "different" (more/less flex, stability vs. touch etc.).

I also thought Ralf did a good for job clarifying their intent for each of the lines, which i know the brandography videos have previously tried to address, but here it came across more straightforward and not as much "marketing buzzword" (mostly in relation to the Speed line, never could tell if it was supposed to be referring to racket head speed, manoeuverability - around the court etc., interesting that they see it as more of a Power racket).

Good job Michelle with the podcast, it's getting more and more interesting. But what the hell were they thinking with that orange :X3: and cap grommets would be very nice for the Rads. It is a tradition after all.

That was really fun to listen to. I wonder what ends up happening to all the silver prototype models they had sent out? How cool would it be to have a couple of those as your main racquets.

IDK about others experiences but trying to apply CAP Grommets might have been the most painful task of all time :-D

When is that new radical bag going to be available?
@marquette100

Thursday! Along with a few other HEAD bags ;)

And thanks everyone for listening/watching/checking it out -- fun chat for sure and always nice to connect with those guys, we probably had another 30+ minutes of tennis geek chatter AFTER we finished recording, definitely guys who love what they do :) ironically the day we all found out about Covid was a day some of the TW crew was hanging out with the HEAD crew, so it was bittersweet to chat and Zoom with them almost a year later!

Stay tuned,
Michelle, TW

That's interesting part with Speed being just a notch different from Radical (longer) and even Prestige MP! (wider) in terms of actual head size, it has moderately low stiffness currently at 62/64 for Pro/MP and just solid SW of 328-329. Beam width of 23 flat - nothing extreme. While Extreme MP (haha see what I did) comes with wider beam, higher stiffness and close SW (325). I bet Extreme has more power on tap - now if it's better to hit with power remains an open question.
It seems to me Radical MP and Speed will actually play on the similar field - there's no too big of a difference. Now Pro versions give more control flavor - string pattern for Speed, beam thickness for Radical, mass for both.

If Head actualy wanted to build a powerhouse frame (not game-assistant type of), they could make a Speed or Radical with Gravity Pro mass distribution. Or players can just lead up Extreme MP to 335-340 SW - that would be a monster :X3:

Personally I like Head lineup a lot. Don't need no Pure Drive!

Anyone else here prefer the MP to the Pro? I was shocked by how much I have been enjoying the MP demo over the pro personally. Thinking about trying the extreme tour next since it is so similar to the radical mp.

Interesting, why is that? I am enjoying the MP but figured I should try the Pro too for its classic specs, similar to what I used to play until a year ago until I went to the Dark Side (Babolat).

Which Babolat made you change sides? Mainly I just feel like everything I could do with the Pro, I can do better with the MP. The MP really was not lacking stability which was my main fear with it and the extra bit of power it provides is more to my liking.

I get what you're saying with the Speed, although I guess it makes sense that "Spin" frames in general will/should always have more "power" since in a spin frame you're effectively converting that extra power into spin, in order to keep the same depth (i.e. in order to hit with more spin and retain the same amount of depth, you'll need to either hit harder, or the frame should provide more power).

I'm guessing when they say Power vs. Spin with the Speed line, it's moreso that the Extreme will hit a loopier ball by nature of its more open string pattern, whereas the Speed is designed to hit a flatter trajectory and push the opponent back with pace, as opposed to from the kick of the ball.

What I'd be interested is how they fit the Instinct into the line up, because it was my understanding that this was supposed to be the "Power" line, albeit at the lower price point... guessing it's more of a hybrid between the Extreme/Speed then.

Well yeah, they dropped it from premium lineup, so it's kind of power-assisting tweener now for beginners and intermediates? Babolat still market their PD as premium option, but it has higher SW than Instinct. But Babolat has 3 lines of racquets, while Head has now 5 premium lines, and Instinct, and Pro Tour 2.0... (not taking game improvers and kids/juniors into consideration).

Let's see -- bumblebee, zebra, TI, LM, FXP, MG, YT, IG....I don't recall any of them having CAPs

I think it's more the traditional of having CAP grommets available that fit the Radicals

Bumblebee -> Microgel, the Prestige MP CAPS fit? (I believe they should for Intelli, LM, MG at least, I'm guessing the earlier ones used the PT57 CAPS?), not sure about the Youtek, but the IG Pro came CAP'd by default, then with the Graphene's they had dedicated "Pro Player CAP" grommets for those.

And besides, considering since Graphene has been around for 4 generations, that in itself can be classed as a tradition.... don't always have to consider the antiques when looking at history ;).

I hit with the Pro and I can tell you it swings so much easier than EZ98 Tour or RF97. Radical swings easier than the Gravity Pro (more static weight about same balance) and Speed Pro 360+ (less static weight, slightly less HL) as well... but they are pretty close. Part of it is what kind of head balance you prefer... for me an RF97 is heavy but the HL nature makes it okay to swing for it's static weight and swing weight... but it'll tire me out. EZ98 Tour is a lot lighter, but the balance is such that it felt like a very sluggish pig to me at the weight and 4pts HL... Yonex to me sometimes has a very different weighted feel than other mfg's... always seems to have considerable weight in the throat. The balance on the Radical Pro 360+ makes it shockingly easy/fast to swing given it's swing weight.

Pro 360+ was very nice and I used to play with the micro gel, then the graphene and XT versions. What surprised me though was given the specs on the MP... after hitting with the Pro my first thought was I think the MP might be very interesting to hit and I might prefer. I tend to prefer HL racquets like you and right in the 11.6 to 11.8 range. You won't have any issues swing the Pro.

Instinct is kaput

The Instinct has been in decline for some time and with so many silos, HEAD should put this line to bed once and for all. It’s almost feels like HEAD is just keeping the Instinct MP around as an easier swinging, lower swingweight, more free power and lower cost cousin to the Extreme MP. The baby blue colorway means very few males will go anywhere near it and about the only demographic that still seems to use this stick at my club are the 12yr old girls (as a transition stick) or the tea-party ladies dubs league (whose free time to play I envy).

Having hit some with the current 360+ Instinct MP, it’s a nice beginner-intermediate stick with plenty of free pop and effortless to swing. Decent feel too (thank you “spiral fibres”). But there’s far better to be had from the Extreme line. Let it go, HEAD.

Will there be a 9 pack or only the 6 and 12 pack bag that are on the website now??

As far as I know, just the 6 and 12 pack.

Have to show you these in case you haven't had a chance to check them out (the smaller of the 2 would be a good option and can carry 9 racquets I think!)

I am playing the Pure Aero Plus. As a height-challenged player who isn't getting any faster with age, I think an XL frame benefits me as long as I can handle it. Aside from the G360+ Radicals, I'm actually eyeing the Pure Drive Plus. It's a bit easier to maneuver than the PA+ and I feel like the control is a little better with it -- but still not anywhere near the Radical. At the limit the PA+ has a bit more power because of the higher swing weight, but the PD+ has plenty. The Radical MP also has plenty of power on a full swing, but I feel like I'm maxing out my swing speed more when I play it versus the other two, if that makes sense.
