Every time when Nadal won RG without dropping a set he was vulnerable in the next year, even though he still won 2 out of 3 times. And back then he wasn't 35, and there were no roof and no night sessions.

Lets not write his eulogy just yet, OK? Lets get to Paris first and see.

Too bad Rafa doesn't have your mentality lol. When they told him the roof would be closed, against literally the toughest opponent he could have in a final, he said "I don't care im going to win anyway" :D #Gangsta

As Carlos Moya told Sportskeeda , the 20-time Grand Slam champion entered the final with an extremely broad chest. "When they came to tell us that the final was going to be played under closed roof, we wondered how to tell Rafa," said Moya. "Fifteen minutes before the game, Francisco Roig told him that. And there was Rafa's answer: 'I don't care, it doesn't change anything, I'll win this match'.

lol how many times can your predictions backfire on you before you acknowledge Nadal’s actually still good at RG?

You don't realize it yet, but many of my predictions are correct. Much more than of other users. I said Nadal currently has physical problems, and look, he couldn't hold high level for a long time against Tsitsipas in AO.

Eh, to be honest I don't feel bad for any of the guys with overall ridiculous careers for losing a close match here and there (my favourite Fed included), it's their fault when they falter in big moments.

I can feel bad for say a guy like Delpo who had his career cut short by injuries, that's just out of his control mostly.

Sure, Mr. “Nadal has no chance against Djokovic at RG”.

:-D

This doesn't make sense, at all. A prediction is either correct, or it isn't.

Yeah, such a crazy predictions indeed. On the one hand we have Djokovic who won like 5 of the last 8 slams, and according to his fans won 40 matches in a row. (lost just because of a DQ). He also won Rome just a few weeks before that. On the other hand we have long past his prime Nadal who is now losing clay matches to the likes of Fognini (you can keep thinking he is some kind of ATG on clay, this will not make it true), Tsitsipas, just got routined by Schwartzman in Rome.

"long past his prime Nadal" was also the three-time defending champion of the tournament. Look, just admit you were wrong.

Why should I admit something which is already obvious? He won, so this time my prediction was wrong. However, I see warning signs for a long time. Nadal was vulnerable during most of the 2018 clay season, absolutely terrible during most of the 2019 clay season (except Rome and RG), and was very average in 2020 except for one match. It is clear he lost his aura on clay in BO3. I'm surprised he still finds a way to find his form for the most important matches, but it will not last forever. Right now he struggles a lot against younger players, and soon they should start owning him everywhere.

TBH, Rafa had a great chance to win that match. He blew his chance with that missed shot at what was it, 4-2 up in the fifth? Had the open court and would have had game point?
I can't feel bad for a pro sportsman who fluffs it like that.

He wouldn't have won the AO anyway though so I was ok.

Yeah, I read that after. Just because he missed one big point didn't mean he was going to win the match even if he won it. Djokovic was just better.
