Alright, so I was able to hit with the 7g tonight, I took off the mods I had done originally and returned it to stock, than I put the 8 grams at 12 o'clock as suggested by Power Player, hit with a friend of mine on very wet Har-Tru for a couple of hours.
So all I can say is holy s***, I was hitting monster ground strokes with this thing, the weight totally changed the dynamics of the racquet, where as before I felt like I had to accelerate as fast as I could to get the results I wanted, I now feel like I can just smooth out and hit a better ball, when I upped the amount of spin on the ball, I was getting tremendous kick off the court. Volleys were good as well, didn't really notice much difference there. Transition shots were superb, loved getting a short ball to my forehand, just was crushing it.
The only thing I struggled with at all was my kick serve didn't seem to have the jump that I expect, but to be fair, I tweaked my right side lower back on Saturday, so it's tough to gauge what actually was going on, I do know that I was holding serve very easily and my opponent was missing a lot of returns, so I have a feeling that the serves were plenty heavy, just not getting as high as usual, probably more due to me.
I was amazed overall that I didn't feel the need to think about my timing or how I was hitting the ball, it was just set up, swing and crush, a pretty cool sensation.
So I am sold, going to just move forward with this set up. I will hit early next week with my normal partner who will be able to gauge what's going on. Thank you Power Player for turning me on to such a great set up.
