Del Po close to his best, very impressive today.
Maybe Sod was still injured, but nothing to take from Del Po, his serve, movement, forehand, back hand really good today.
I want to see him take on Djoker.
His movement still isn't as fluid but give it time he will be moving like the 2009 days.

Delpo is almost back to 2009 form very good to see.
Agreed I wasn't expecting him to be able to hang with the big boys until clay season but he is rapidly showing signs of 2009. Which means big trouble for top 3 especially Djokovic. IMO Del Potro may be the one to end his winning streak.

They're saying on Sky that Murray, despite not winning a match since the Australian Open, is back up to world number 4 after Miami finishes.

Sod was defending SF results at both IW and Miami, and also his Rotterdam win this year was a defense, no extra points.
Murray didnt have too much to defend as he was slumping at this time last year too.
So now Robin drops to 5. Strange, but true :)

Novak GOAT-ovic

vs

Juan Martin Del GOAT-ro

for a gloryhunter's paradise semifinal.

it could happen :D

Djoko just needs to get by Blake tonight = 3rd round
and the winner of Querrey/Troicki = 4th round
and then he'll be in the quarters!

JM of the Colt must beat Floridian Mardy Fish 4th round = do-able

I wouldnt play all of the clay court events if I were him he needs to rest up a little save it for the clay masters events. Would be interesting for someone in a interview to ask him how the wrist is now and if the pain has gone, certainly looks that way. The serve was the biggest positive today for me.

YEAH!!!

Being laid-off for a year is huge setback and Delpo's still in recovery mode but already, asses are gettin whooped!

Del Po at 50% would destroy Laver in his prime and can out slice Rosewall on the backhand wing. The previous era's were lucky he wasn't born or of age to compete at the highest level and the current high ranking player's have ALL benefited from his injury. Every record in the sport is at his mercy until his records are overtaken by Raonic. The colt has redefined the forehand and in light of all he has done for the game is currently discussing with ATP a possible revoking and replay of all the major events played during his hiatus from the game. His unique blend of hyper aggressive pushing and long limbed genetic advantage provides spectators everywhere with a chance to see an immortal being of preternatural ability hit as hard as he can down the middle of the court. :)

Very rare to see any double hander crumble but that's kind of what happened to the Sod today! Full credit to DelPo but the stat of the match is Sod's 30+ UEs in two short sets...

What's wrong with Soderling? He looked completely out of sorts in this match. Delpo did good but I was expecting Soderling to take it to him a bit more.

^ Actually Sod wasn't that bad. That's what is amazing about Po's victory. Robin was hitting cleanly and his UEs were virtually all the "indirectly forced" kind

The Swede just got his ass handed to him basically. That happens too, ye kno
.

Agree..there was nothing unforced about most of those errors...
