John McEnroe seething over shot-clock drama: ‘Rafael Nadal should be penalised. It’s a joke’

Give me three Rafito matches available online of your choosing, and I’ll pick any point at random where he’s serving and wasting time between serves and between 1st and second serves (hidden time wasting).

Intense matches? He does this in EVERY match and increases it in difficult matches. Go ahead and pick any Rafito matches and anyone can pick points at random.

This is what’s left, i.e., showing once where he’s not time wasting? Lol
Just try to read the post I quoted. Either you cant read or cant see the bolded part. When Nadal has more GS than some people's IQ here, there is no use of arguing LOL

Is there any time limit between 1st and 2nd serves in the rulebook? If there is no limit how does Nadal taking time be cheating lol

Stop lying about his shot clock violations

It’s embarrassing now - the entire TTW is laughing
Rafa bashers are constantly embarrasing themselves by creating false stories about Rafa, especially those bashers who have proved that they have never seen the serve clock. :-D

Give me whatever ATP Tour match, where the serve clock is used between the 1st and 2nd serve. You replied to my this post (#154):

So you can’t. Got it.

He does it on 1st serves, too (has lessened after shot clock installation), and sneak does it between 1st and 2nd. There is no rule because nobody else wastes 15-17 seconds between 1st and 2nd serves.

Been the same for over a decade. It's just they have no stop to Nadal GOAT, so they start trying to invent things to discredit him. If the ATP or any others in power really saw actual cheating, it would be changed. I mean, they changed ALL of tennis with a shot clock, and they said Nadal would NEVER be able to win again, but it just gave him a wonderful tool to manage himself better. Now he can just bounce the ball and wait while it counts down, starting the serve motion as it reaches 0. Such a smart player.

It’s all in the Zed game - ignoring the facts makes you come across desperate. Your idol is a cheat - deal with it
I wonder why you haven't watched any tennis match, where the serve clock has been used. You have proved that you have no idea what the serve clock is. You have only created imaginary stories about it.

Have you seen on the serve clock how much Rafa has exceeded the 25-second time limit before the 1st serve?

Hi, Rafa basher! You haven't even understand  that John McEnroe talked (in the article in OP) during the QF match between Rafa and Djoko.

First three matches I got under “Nadal full match.” In each one, picked random service games . Rafito fans can feel free to post any other matches. Since the shot clock, Nadal resorts to time wasting between serve serve games and between lets and 1st and 2nd serves. Also uses the fact that umps call the score late and wait even later to start the clock.

Shapo vs Nadal

Rafito broke and serves at 4-3 ahead in the second set. Takes forever to begin the service game as usual. First point hits a first serve fault at 1:22.09 and then WASTES 20 seconds between serves lol.

At 15-15, previous point ends at 1:23.15 but ump calls the score at 1.23.20 and then Nadal hits the serve at 1.23.49/50 so 29 or 30 seconds after the score is called, 35 seconds after the previous point ended. Nadal stays within 25-27 seconds of the called score throughout the match but is actually taking 35+ seconds since the score is called late.

At 40-15, hits a first serve fault at 1:24.55 and then hits his second serve at 1:24.13, 18 seconds wasted in between. Looks like I was generous in saying 11-12 seconds lol.

At 40-30, takes 28 seconds between the score called and serving.

At deuce, takes 31 seconds between points to serve but clock was started 6 seconds late)

Meddy vs Rafito

Nadal up 3-2 and a break in the 4th set.

First serve fault at 3:42.08 and takes 15 seconds to serve second serve
At 0-15, first serve let at 3:43.05 and takes 15 seconds to serve again.
Up 30-15, first serve fault at 3:44.41 and takes 15-16 seconds to serve second.

Fedr vs Nadal—I thought Nadal served faster here then at any other match Which is why it was so short relatively speaking (also because Fed plays fast).

Down 4-6, up 30-15, 33:23.05, takes 13 seconds between 1st and 2nd serves.
40-15, 12 seconds between serves

1-1 in the 4th, at 1:52.11, 15-0, 12 seconds between 1st and second serves.

up 3-1 in 4th, down 0-15, 20 seconds between 1st and 2nd serves 1:57.55
15-15, 14 seconds between 1st and 2nd serve, 1:58.55
40-30, 14 seconds between 1st and 2nd serves, 2:00.51
Deuce, 19 seconds between 1st serve let and reserve, 2:01:46

1) I asked you to give me whatever ATP Tour match, where the serve clock is used between the 1st and 2nd serve (that's what John McEnroe talks about in the article in OP). Where in those matches (you posted) can you see it ?

2) I asked, if you have seen on the serve clock how much Rafa has exceeded the 25-second time limit before the 1st serve? Where in those matches (you posted) can you see it ?

3) The 25-second countdown (before the 1st serve) begins when the chair umpire triggers the serve clock. A player has to monitor the time on the serve clock and stay within the 25-second time limit the serve allows. He can't start his service motion earlier or later than the serve clock (triggered by the chair umpire) allows. Measurements of time made by someone else than the chair umpire are meaningless.

I will be very honest, and I will be blunt.

Rafael is a legend. And Iga is greatness in the making.

But, You can't tell me that they are not using delays as a strategic step. Nadal basically takes extra time on every single important point. Iga was doing it too at every duece and 30-30 point. I am sorry, but they are definitely doing it deliberately. Anyone denying this is being blind.
100% tactics... And it is becoming boring.... Nadal is now doing it more than ever due to his age and wanting to preserve energy as much as possible.

It really puts a dampener on otherwise amazing game skills and sheer greatness on the court.

Not to mention that is it completely unfair to his opponents.

If Nadal were doing what his detractors feverishly imagine, how is it possible that he continues to win the sportsmanship award voted on by his peers year after year?

They think he's 'cheating' yet vote for him as best sportsman year after year.

Makes perfect sense...if you have already lost your mind fighting imaginary battles for one of Nadal's rivals.

Yup. I could actually root for him if he didn't do these things. But he does, and gets worse and more egregious/shameless every time.

Same old answers. The guy wastes time on 90%+ of points and you cannot find a match in which he doesn’t continuing to cheat readers.

One thought on the subject:

Don‘t blame the criminal, blame the justice system.

Tennis authorities in all their different forms are the most corrupt in the world. Even the FIFA, that has been described as organised crime, cannot compare to the ITF and ATP. The crime described here is being perpetrated in front of several thousand people in the stadium, and millions of TV viewers worldwide. If you allow it to happen, you’re as guilty as the perpetrator.

Same old false accusations against Rafa. You have still not provided any evidence that Rafa has exceeded the 25-second time limit (the serve clock allows before the 1st serve) without getting punished by the chair umpire, who operates the serve clock.
