And RAFA closes out the match with a:

It wasn’t pretty, especially the 1st, but a straights sets win is a straight sets win. To comeback a week later to beat the guy who just beat you in straight sets is a massive improvement. Looks like RAFA was just going easy on the throttle in Barca. He just needs to stay healthy and keep getting actually matches under his belt. His confidence will only build from there. There’s not a lot of time left. So hopefully he can come into RG to have a decent run for his farewell send off there.

What are the odds of them being the exact same place in the draw Twice in a row? I know I’ve seen it before, but the conspiracy theorist in me thinks it wasn’t an accident and he asked for ADM.

Rafito Is a proud, proud champion. He looked more annoyed than anything else by the end of that second set beating that he got, and knowing him you know he wants revenge.
Posted this on Monday. Rafito at underdog odds on clay is a gift. I just made $4000. Thank you, Rafiro.

Speed Demon blew his chance in being the only player with a winning record against Nadal in clay (2 more or wins) even this "vulture" opportunity was too much. Nadal keeps that feat and also no player has a Bo5 winning record (2 or more wins). Rublev may get a chance later in this clay season if he faces Nadal.

Nadal executed MUCH better overall and that looping shot to ADM's BH was a big part of it. He kicked it up much more that second set with even better results than the first. He also started hitting that wide slider on the ad side, opening the court for him. I still don't think his movement is as free as it could be, but Nadal is, if nothing else, a master of adjusting and managing himself and the match to get the W. I just don't think it is as effective for the high level players and he will himself need to raise his level. Much more. But for today...great win.

ADM is a top tier player so far this year, Nadal beats him in straights.

Ala Danielle Collins, if Nadal finds form and fitness, stays healthy here's hoping he stays on.
