Isn't it today? 11:30pm Australia time?
I'm feeling Cilic 3/1
I'm feeling Cilic 3/1
Wow is it just me or is Tomic hitting the ball with so little pace?
On a side note: Where is Dimitrov?
Unfortunately, Dimitrov did not qualify. I hope he doesn't become like DY with all the "next Federer" hype around him.
he's still very young.LOOOOOONG way to go until he reaches DY status. Also DY's mockery also came from all those wasted WCs he received.Dimitrov unfortunately can't benefit from such, him coming from Bulgaria.Unless of course Kazakhstan takes notice and buys him.
Yup, there should be no panic around Dimitrov not suddenly breaking through. He's still at the top end of his generation and shifting up the rankings gradually.
Tomic's movement is pretty poor huh
I'm just comparing him with Tomic. He's 1 year younger, yet he's on the second round of the Aussie Open. Dimitrov could not even qualify.
so what?I am not sure Federer was able to qualify in slams at his age either.
also Tomic was great to come so far.Let's see what the future holds.
I find Tomic's forehand strange to watch at times :s but i can't quite put my finger on what it is, i'm sure he hits alot harder than me but it seems as tho he 'pushes' it sometimes, that might be because if the short backswing? :S
You'll see the word pusher bandied around with Tomic a lot I think, though he can generate pace with his sort of slapped fh
lost to kendrick in the first round of qualifying

That's a bit of a mean comparison; Tomic got a wildcard into the event and then played Rufin in the first round. Rufin being another new pro, who's best surface is clay, and who was playing his first HC slam. He's also ranked a fair way behind Kendrick (who dimitrov lost to)
That's a bit of a mean comparison though =p

Tomic's a pretty decent player. He'll get better as he matures. Interesting game...
2-3 down a break
He's got a nice transition game as well... knows when to approach the net
Not forgetting that Kendrick is also an alright player-and not just because of his 5 setter against Nadal at wimbledon a few years ago.
His paceless shots are so annoying to watch though.
Unless of course Kazakhstan takes notice and buys him.
Wow, Cilic must not fall for Tomic baiting him into playing his style.
Isn't he a follower of Oscar Wegners technique on the forehand where you "find the ball" before accelerating, it's why it looks so disjointed. The theory is that it'll correct itself and look more fluid later.
ESPN in their infinite wisdom is currently showing a taped replay of the Roddick-Bellucci match that ended like 6 hours ago instead of showing the live Cilic-Tomic match! :-?
I really wanted to see this kid Tomic play too since I've never seen him play but have heard a lot about him.
Tomic's going to be a force to be reckoned with in a couple years. He's a natural ball striker and does everything really well. He's also developed a nice defensive game at such an early age.
Tomic will be a force very soon, great potential but as his current match He is likely going to lose in straight or in four with a tight set.
This match will become very interesting if Tomic wins this set.
I wonder where Tomic is ranked in 2 years...
If this is how he normally plays... I predict within the top 100
5-5
