Slicing is a much less consistent play in the wind, the ball will float long a ton or sit up, topspin is the key in wind, or just pounding the heck out of the ball like MAria is doing.

it's tough in the wind. but that slice to the sharapova forehand is working when she mixes it up with the loopy top. she just has to keep mixing it up to the forehand side. to be honest, sharapova hasn't done all that much the whole match. it's not like she's bashed mauresmo off the court.

we will see who holds their nerve in the third.
