Medvedev – "I guess I won’t forgive him (Tsitsipas) for what he said in Shanghai"

This Medvedev guy seems like very antagonistic ... it looks like that confrontation is something that he finds motivation in ... just look at his US Open "incident" ... He feeds off of hostility and if there is none or very miniscule and minor he would escalate it to the point of getting motivated by it ... all good, I've seen another player like that before in his early days that turned out to be "pretty good" ... But you might win trophies but you might not win friends or fans with that behavior ... just like that other guy that turned out to be "pretty good".

But this is a "ticking bomb" and he better be careful because if he hits a tough spell and stops winning - he will fall as fast as gravity allows it ...

Just my opinion and he might turn out to be another "pretty good" guy like the other one that happen to be Eastern European ...

Maybe Medvedev should’ve given less interviews and practice for WTF instead?

He had all the needed rest after Chardy exposed him in Paris and the best he could offer today was 6-7 4-6 with 0 breakpoints.
Tsitsi fixed his one deficiency that I discussed here a few months ago. The serve. It was a weapon today.

At last? They've been a lot more interesting.

The good thing about millennial tennis is the DRAMA. We didn't have much drama until the millennials showed up. They are extremely sensitive and have little dignity.

Extremely sensitive + little dignity = heated rivalries/trash-talking = fun for tennis fans
Tsitsi is Gen Z and so maybe Daniil.

Medvedev just says how he feels without pretending to be morally better or sophisticated to get approval from others. I definitely respect that, and it's also kind of endearing because that's how children usually are. :) A rarity to see an adult who's so straightforward.
That's the eastern european way. No one remembers Safin and Ivanisevic comments? They were straight and most of the time hilarious.

Medvedev says, "If he believes that he can say such things, then I will hurt him. "

Open threats of aggression should not be tolerated. This is deserving of a fine.

Tsitsi just said your game was boring....didn't call your mom a hoe. Get over it.

Clearly he only meant he'll be aggressive with his tennis. And Tsitsipas clearly wanted to offend Daniil, and succeeded. Just because the insult wasn't egregious, doesn't mean Medvedev can't get angry at being insulted, especially since he tried to make peace with Tsitsipas.

... And veryyyyyy childish.

Medvedevious isn't child-like in the way he expresses his honesty. Those two were even buffoonerish at times.

Tsitsipas apologizing for BS Russian.

When did it become de rigueur to "apologize" for winning or benefiting for a net cord? Can someone explain how and why this evolved into essential etiquette? Net cords have always been part of the game, but "apologizing" is not traditional.

Tsitsipas was disrespectful with Medvedev from their "bullsheet Russian" days. As much as people want to like him, he sometimes comes across as an arrogant jerk to me.

Did you watch the post match interview with Tsitsipas? Talking of the "bullsheet Russian game", he said he was in a rally where the initial ball clipped the net, 4 shots followed, Tsitsi wins the point., had forgotten about the let. Medvedev keeps comp!aining about Tsitsi telling him he should say sorry, gets in his head, doesn't win another game. So a case of Medvedev overreacting, Tsitsipas being stubborn...then escalating with Tsitsipas calling Med a bullsheet russian, and Med wanting to fight him.

Refusing to apologize

The First is bad stuff and he needs to apologize - to Medvedev and the entire sporting world.

Did he say "boring"? No transgression. A put-down but not requiring apology. I only read he called it "sloppy" "a good sloppy" - keeps you very overbalanced.

Not apologizing for not apologizing for a net cord? Again, I ask, when did this "apologizing" (maybe "acknowledging") net cord even begin to be the norm?

I meant refusing to apologize for his comments.
