NEW 2019 Radical (May 16th) Release Date and (Some) Changes

So, I can now confirm that the New 2019 Head Radicals are going to be released on May 16th.

Changes:
  • Handle shape will change from the more traditional Head rectangular shape to the new "Modern" square shape seen on the Speed line.
  • The racket will be introduced to the new Graphene 360 technology, making the racket feel more comfortable than the Graphene Touch Radicals.
  • New paint job! It will look somewhat like the Speed, Extreme, or Instinct 360 with the cut off around the handle. Instead of it being blue, black, or green, it will be orange, of course.
  • The racket will come with some exclusive release special or promotion, something to hype it up like what Wilson did with the Clash.
I will continue to give updates on the new Radicals as I keep getting more info on it. The full specs should come out pretty soon, will post or edit onto here.

Wait, wait the purpose of the Touch Technology was to make the racquet more comfortable. How can it be any more comfortable with 360 tech. New technology is so amazing.:-D

Interested in your and others opinions, does the Graphene 360 tech feel more comfortable? My wife love the current Head Radical MP's but does get some wrist pain from them.

Well, the Graphene 360 makes the frame more stable for sure. They are also making all the frames a bit softer and more comfortable. So most likely they are decreasing the RA a bit just the Speed Series.

I've been playing the Graphene 360 in an Extreme Pro and even as the heaviest racket in the line still feels a little light. Is it comfortable? Yes. Feels a bit more modern and lively than the Touch. Shots on the sweet spot feel great, but I notice more torsional stability issues with the Extreme, and it made me go back to the Touch Radical, which is a 98 and to me more predictable. I can swing more freely with the Radical while the Extreme requires more topspin (the stringbed is probably too lively -- ball just launches) Wish they would have put more weight at 3 and 9 on the 100" frame. Wrist pain varies from player to player. Rads never bother me, though they might to someone else. Only sticks to cause me pain that I've used are the Babolat P17 (wrist) and Pure Drive Plus (wrist).

CLEAN PJ PLEASEEEEE. No tribal tattoos or random swirls. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Radical doesn't have to mean distasteful

Oh, it will be. Orange and blue. Bold. All the new lines look good. Head took a lot of crap for that Spider Man inspired racket.

How can Head standby with a trashy prestige while Wilson makes the old prestige?
Wilson doesn’t make the old Prestige. Allow me to introduce you.
My favorite paint job of the Classic Kennelbach Prestige

This photo doesn't do it justice. You can't see the beautiful details of the paint

Does anyone know who will be the main endorser of the radical since andy murray will most probably retire and khachanov did not go ahead with the switch?
Sloane Stephens or Diego Schwartzman maybe?

Do you have any updates on the frames design or specs? If so can you post them on this forum. Thanks :)

What company handle shape does that make the new ones closest to? Wilson?
Gross. If I wanted to play Wilson, I would play Wilson. I learned playing Head rackets so their grips feel the most natural to me. I wander away but keep returning to various Head rackets because the grip just feels right.
HEAD is trying hard to turn themselves into Babolat and Wilson clones. What made them great in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s is now gone. The people that run HEAD now want no differences with themsleves, Babolat and Wilson. They want to try and get those sales from them and could care less about retaining any loyal following of their previous products. They are chasing Babolat and Wilson.

Exactly. HEAD is doing away with anything and everything that made them them. And by extension they are doing away with all the fans of HEAD

I feel like each and every HEAD racket is them trying to be another brands clone or cater to people that may switch from a brand instead of doing "them".

I am not saying they need to re-release all the classic HEAD rackets... but like stick to your guns and have various spec ranges and string patterns. There are only 2 18x20 HEADS in the entire line up... how bonked is that? And 3 entire lines swirl around the 100' headsize.... also bonked!

At least Babolat and even Wilson to an extent listen to what consumers want. I wonder if head's employees listen to consumers, or even spy on their competition to see what is trending.

I mean I think they ARE doing that... just listening to the loud majority of their players as opposed to ALL of them (prestige fans). Those who wan't easy power in a very playable frame.

I hope the brand new 7th line new racquet will be what we wanted. 7th. Means a new line.

It sure is made in Austria, hmm, other than The China one being lighter are they the same, meaning having Twaron and, same stiffness and have the same balance?

I've been told they were, but it doesn't explain why the weights are different. @vsbabolat should know what the exact differences are. I have 2 PT280's that I need to weigh, one that is MIA and the ohter DIA. Will report back.
