Only 1 width now?
I’m not sure but they probably will. I took this from the ITF player site
Only 1 width now?
First time playing in these last night, quite a bit different than my memory of the v1s. Hoping its just a break-in period because when I was heel striking on lunges I got a really jarring sensation up the back of my achilles to calf.... anyone else with similar feedback?
These are absolute fire.Found this "new" color way coming to us for Wimbledon. They are changing the logos and no longer calling it the Lav 2, its just now called the all court LAV. Personally I can dig it as it goes along with their latest casual shoe logo changes as well!

Appreciate the tip. Yeah I've heard similarly re heel-to-toe drop being better for the Achilles. It was really weird it's like the foam almost trampolined upward when my body was still going downwards. Going to give it another go hopefully they work out as they were a bday gift from they wifey haha. Can't say I have had that feeling with the cushion. My feet find it very plush to wear. I actually would get that jarring feeling once the cushion on my Lav 1 or 996 v4/v5 would start to die out.
It is stated that the Lav 2 with its 1.2-1.4 cm heel to toe drop(cant remember the exact number) it should technically be easier on your Achilles versus a speed shoe shoes that might have .9-1.0 heel to toe drop (more ankle dependent). At least that was the feeling I get. I think different foot types cause different fit types.
I personally believe if a shoe out of the box is causing pain in joints, its simply not the shoe for me no matter the break in period. If its like heel rubbing, toe rubbing etc, those are fixable with tape etc. Something that might be killing your Achilles or foot joints, is a big return for me.
Probably will what specifically? Probably will only come in one width?I’m not sure but they probably will. I took this from the ITF player site
Probably will have more than one width, my fault was not clear. Multi tasking at its finest.Probably will what specifically? Probably will only come in one width?
Multi tasking at its finest.
Do they even have a clay version of the shoe anywhere worldwide? Haven’t seen a single modelThe blue one is up on TW!
I wish one of them came in a clay sole
They need only a couple weeks to break in that heel. Then they are fantastic.Hated this shoe. No stability due to high heel drop. I felt like it was an ankle sprain just waiting to happen. Returned.
the person you quoted is complaining about the HEIGHT of the heel... is this implying that the height will reduce after a couple of weeks? Because that would be epically surprising
lol @LOBALOT #notalone
did you personally find the heel of the LavV2 to bottom out (in a "good" way though) in only a couple of weeks though or have you never tried this model yet?I thought shoe midsoles do form and compress to your foot over time. Im sure PFG1 is not saying it will compress inches, but potentially a small divot in the shape of your heel.... Highly dependent on personal weight. For example the fuel cell lines that NB offers, after about 1 month of playing, I definitely feel a more jarring feel in my heel when landing on a slide. From what the internet tells me, other threads & Foot Doctor Zach, the cushion has compressed and is broken in/worn.
I do agree though the heel stack on the Lav v2 is higher than most shoes, which could definitely cause some distaste in fit and feel.
I personally believe when a person says that any shoe has no break in time is non sense. Things will loosen up whether its the midsole, uppers, or even the outsole itself. As a heavier guy 200lbs/90kg at 6 ft 3 in/190cm, I have definitely noticed that my shoes by week 2 feel a bit more pliable in some form or another.

oh wow! thats pretty noticeable!Yes - Im on my 2nd pair of Lav v2. Although using this 2nd pair much less as I have recently fell in love with lacoste LT 21 ultras. Submitted the LAV v2 1st pair for 6 months warranty after 2.5 months. The cushion after the 2-2.5 week mark for me, felt different from the initial out of box. Initial out of box plushness was gone, but it did feel more responsive to my movements. I did not receive the jarring feeling until towards the tail end of my use life of the first pair. I do not think we used the word "Bottom out", Bottom out implies the the cushion is absolutely gone to me.
Again all views should be taken subjectively for shoe fit. I am not hating SRWALDR or D-QUIK for saying the LAV was a bad shoe. Just saying that hey things compress and change over time which could cause difference in feel/performance.
Orthotic imprint/midsole compression: Not sure how clear it is in this photo, but circled in red is the imprint of my orthotic into the midsole of the shoe (Triangular Shape). My brain tells me this shows some evidence of compression.
Uppers on the other hand....my sliding stopping foot (left foot) in particular, I felt like I needed to tighten my laces more to lock my foot in as the uppers were super beat up and lost some of their initial stiffness.

So on the NB site they have a new model that they are calling Fresh Foam X Lav v2 ? Is this different from the Lav v2 ? It has the small "N" logo, but I don't recall a Fresh Foam Lav X v1....very confusing.

worst sponsorship contract everI'd expect the Lav naming convention to die off in the future...

Far chance but raonic is making a comeback. If he becomes resurgent…..lav v3?
Tommy Paul and others seem to favor the lav over the 996. So I’m curious how they will evolve from it.
If you end up telling the future, I’m just going to assume you live in Boston and work at NB HQ haha.I'd expect: less extreme heel to toe drop, revised lighter weight, slightly more flexible upper, revised tongue & heel counter design and visual logo updates that align with how they present in their other lines. Likely noticeable changes but nothing that makes it a completely different shoe
Raonic is made of glass so that comeback will last .67 seconds. That was a terrible deal, especially when NB raised their shoe prices $20 basically as soon as the deal was announced.
I continue to hold out hope that NB will build a shoe with FFX in the heel, Fuel Cell in the forefoot and the Energy Arc carbon shank plate system. Might as well just mash all 3 of your top technologies together

I personally am not a fan of fuel cell anymore. They have great initial use comfort then it just bottoms out too quickly. But maybe…..I should just lose weight haha.
Would be an interesting concept to have all their tech in one shoe. I do like the 996 v5 chicken foot shank. Definitely enjoyed the stiffness it gave to counter the softness of fuel cell.
The original Lav are build much more like todays 996v5. Different materials of course, but similar feel and shape. IMO.A little off topic, but loved the v1 Lav. Haven't tried the v2s but understand they're pretty different... any recommendations on what else to try for something similar to the v1s?
I've noticed much of the same.Looks like the Lav2 are starting to dissappear. Very little inventory out there.
Anyone in the know...are these going away? And soon? Wondering what NB will replace them with...
Initial step in comfort on the Lav v2 was great. I was super bummed I couldn't make them work. I had heel slippage issues and the one way to cure it was to lock the laces so tight it was killing the top of my foot. I generally like shoes with the thin tongue but this was just too thin given how I had to lace down. I really liked the feel otherwise and they felt very supportive. Hoping maybe at some point there is a v3 and fit is just slightly different. The 996v5 felt great and I had no heel slippage in that shoe but the tongue had an awkward spot on my foot that was causing major discomfort. Maybe break-in period would be required and I could have given them a shot but went back the old Vapor Pro which just feel like cozy slippers to me.The original Lav are build much more like todays 996v5. The Lav2 or LavX or whatever we want to call them, are a more cushioned shoe. More durable. Not as fast, but a dream for a hard court mover or high volume player.
I'm so bummed to hear about the thin tongue on the V2. I loved the LAV V1s, switched to Adidas Ubersonics, basically because they were a good deal but I am dying to get back to the LAVs with my next pair. The Ubersonic's tongue is basically just a piece of fabric, terrible design. I hope NB fixes this is V3 because I'm a mark for them!I've noticed much of the same.

Following up with this. Hated them out of the box, but after two month break in now they feel great. Never had a pair of shoes that took so long to appreciate! Maybe It's the fresh foam that's had time to relaxAppreciate the tip. Yeah I've heard similarly re heel-to-toe drop being better for the Achilles. The Lav 2s are great imo. I know it shouldn’t matter, but in addition to their performance they look pretty cool, too.Following up with this. Agreed lav 1s out if the box were very much ready to go, 2s are a better shoe in all ways, just that break in makes me hesitate if I'd buy another pair or not. Colorways are nice too I agree, NB is on a good track with their tennis line even though their apparel is trickier to find at least over here. The Lav 2s are great imo. The Lav 2 was such a massive change from the original Lav, but it really solidified the shoe as a serious flagship. I loved the initial comfort and light weight of the Lav 1, but the upper was nowhere near supportive enough. Once it’s broken in, The Lav 2 is a very comfortable shoe but it’s also built like a tank.

Which two things? The fuel cell heel and LAV name?still works even though neither of those 2 things is true
