Nick Kyrgios: Clay Court shouldn't even be a surface, replace it with Grass

I deleted the Federer allusion of my comment before you replied! I realized it was inaccurate and unnecessary!

Hehe, I saw that after posting my comment. Kudos for the correction.

Fedr could be quesioned for certain things, but he should 'never' be questioned for his commitment to the game. If we HAVE to choose who is the most selfish of the Big3, Fedr has to be the least selfish between them (for the fans, etc., Fedr never retiring 'during' a match as an example, and also blue-clay-gate).

All good though, no worries. ;)

I'll take clay over grass nowadays honestly. Clay is genuine and historical. All the grass has been replaced with something that is completely different in every way except for appearance. Unless they have made alterations that I'm not aware of to the clay "formula". Grass, according to that speed index thing, is almost a similar speed to hard courts. It may as well not even exist anymore.

Not as good as his one from the other year where he complained it made his car dirty. Getting less creative as he gets older.

Kyrgios isn’t that dumb. He wants to bring the grass court lovers on his side by saying clay should be replaced by grass. I love grass court tennis as well, but it doesn't work with me. We have so much hardcourt that it should replace some tournaments THERE.

Clay is fine as it is, even with Nadal dominating. You cannot change the calendar just to prevent someone from winning.

This might prove awkward for Andy. He's close friends with both of them and may end up being piggy-in-the-middle if he's not careful!
Andy... I miss him... He is rarely mentioned here... We forgot him too fast...
Clay season wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for Nadal. I used to really enjoy it back in the day.
Damn Nadal, he ruined so many things... He broke too many dreams...
NK is becoming more and more unlikeable . He's saying as if he has multiple Wimbledon in bag.
In his defence, if he won multiple Wimbledon titles his statement would be meeh, but he suck on both surfaces equally....
Not that I mind managing your thoughts here, but shouldn't you be over to the Clinic, discussing the chances of Evenepoel being doped?

Even if their were 5majors on grass he won't win or make final in 1.he sucks everywhere .except serve he's bang average .

Both players' comments are salty. The pro player should be able to cope with his weakest surface, without salty comments.
Nadal irritates me with his comments that he wants more clay tournaments. It is evident that he is not interested in the good of tennis, only about his own benefit.

I was commenting more on the base of the propensity of the people to "forgive" or treat the same comment differently, based on achievements, which is always obvious by the way St. Nick is bashed with regularity about his "disrespect" based on lack of results, while Nadal's comments are always treated with some criticism, but never in the same bracket as those towards Nicky.

It should be the other way around: the more a player has achieved the bigger his responsibility towards the signals he sends to the public should be.

Eh. Many of Kyrgios' comments are playful/sarcastic interjections that just reflect his current personal mood, without serious thought or lack of irony behind them. I don't see why people get in such a tizzy over millennials just talking like millennials. Rather, I would think that tennis fans (and any organizations/sellers that rely on attention to the sport) would appreciate some casual trash-talk and banter. It always seems hypocritical how the big three are accused of being PR-controlled drones, yet those who add some non-malicious spice to the game are vehemently attacked.

Laugh at Nick all you like for now but once he defends his Wimbledon title this year he is the one who will be having the last laugh.

TTW will go into heavy meltdown mode if Nick ever wins Wimbledon. Then all those who have derided and endlessly said, "show us a result and then I'll take him seriously!" ---will have to take him seriously. 8-B

Never understood the hype for grass court tennis...especially prior to the grass being slowed down.

Who really likes a surface where you can servebot to the title?
